-- Using chemotherapy to treat cancer can be very effective but the side effects including fatigue loss of appetite memory changes in pain.

Can be difficult for patience to deal with -- joining me now is cancer patient and founder of the -- Frazier foundation in the -- Frazier.

Thank you for coming to my doctor McNally for having me you know I love you and I admire so much but just to get perspective for everybody out -- tell me a little bit about your -- you background.

Okay well I've been living with cancer for almost eleven years now I was first diagnosed in 2001.

It was a small cancer it was a -- one with breast cancer with no lymph node involvement.

And so because it was a small piece of all I really knew it was radiation it and catalog lumpectomy.

And they said there is -- 96%.

Chance that would never come back.

It in -- -- two years later -- moved into my bones.

And then last year it moved and my liver so.

Currently.

You have been treating it was different types of -- -- gets him out in October.

The doctor.

Called me up the phone call and he said you know.

-- did you come down I think I need to talk to you.

Like oh god sourced -- you want to I don't know received some good news is that I've got the grim reaper -- I -- -- -- just.

The chase and Tommy and he was like no you -- come down and so that's when he told me.

That it was in my liver and that it had grown to emphasize that we had to be aggressive.

So he -- I've got some new key moments that are out on the market now I wanna try with human that was in October and they were oral.

He moms and it -- I tried so many of them and I was so.

I I you know every.

Onside affect you could get I would get it on more and had was full of mouth sores -- couldn't eat I couldn't -- So yeah let let's go over some of this because I think you know for people.

You know we was told about prevention getting mammograms senior doctors and we talk about cancer did you know you -- the reality of rules.

It's this this side effects that you have experience over the different courses scheme that included everything.

I guess is it not only the fatigue the brain the brain thing it's unbelievable there you know when -- -- was first diagnosed.

People were doctors were arteries were arguing whether or not there was really chemo brain and now it's -- -- -- -- everyone accepts that they didn't accept a ten years ago.

And and and all of those side effects of course because you I know I know for a fact that you -- Always have been incredibly active woman who else professionally.

You know as a mother it you name it.

How old.

How did you deal with the side effects.

Well you know some of -- there's nothing you can do about I mean I tried like homeopathic things in the very very beginning when I was doing the oral.

When you get those mouth sores that was very little they could do I mean I was just because we morphine that was the only thing that would take -- in ways -- -- sleep and then.

Like a syrup to walk to rinse my mouth not to -- numb the pain -- when we realized that wasn't gonna work and we moved on to this new chemo.

And I lost my -- -- I've been treated from this just this January.

He'll be -- beginning of April and -- side effects work.

Has been out now you have used some natural remedies -- tell me about those whose people are desperate for -- I you know.

I'm operative trying anything and and I I I did try a lot of different things but I think.

Acupuncture really helped me I have this here -- these terrible pains down my legs.

That I I I really -- the last four months are spent three quarters of the time and got -- couldn't walk.

And I have neuropathy and still -- it's it's my fingers are still mom and my -- -- -- But that really worked for me and my sister.

Came in from on New Jersey and she -- what this is what we're gonna do you're just gonna.

Joos Joos -- -- I can reduce the way they usually choose.

I'm gonna put everything in a blender and work -- -- Verizon at least in which he dances felt better absolutely the fight for it yeah I think they fibers various key and all the antioxidants.

That you have been the skin of those vegetables in and out our key.

Absolutely so I drink those Green drinks three times a day I want to acupuncture twice a week in about three weeks him I got some relief tonight.

And I haven't stopped any of the things that I'm that I'm doing.

About your mental latitude because that sometimes.

You know anybody that tells you that it's gotta be up all the time is now it's not telling the truth.

I mean me a ball up out of all people use I I would be the one that you would think would just keep fighting -- times.

When you are I was in such pain I would just crying and I would say my husband do something do something and you -- Like I don't know what to do what is the what's on my legs my likes -- so much.

And you just to rob the legs and whenever they got really bad I would just have to him out I had girlfriends the -- man and just robbed my legs on.

People that brought in food in the -- to the working when I had to take the morphine and I think when -- really really really really in the midst of a chemo and I think you need to be up.

I think -- just got to deal.

And then when you're off the key -- you get back on the horse.

But again I'm trying to look for a positive spin for people listening to you -- looking human and we have met multiple times.

Your spirit to me is such a strong spirit.

That it comes through your thoughts.

And I think that that the message is for folks is that yes don't deny the fact they -- side effects try to do something to help you leave it.

But there is a light at the end of the -- yes it.

Exactly that's that's right that's the ticket you know going to feel bad and do everything you can during the -- -- chemo but give yourself a break don't feel that you have to go to work.

I hope you what we have to work.

During a period of time but.

But hang in there you can get Beckham of course when it's over.

Thank you so much for coming in to show and -- don't forget that you check out -- -- weekly blog on fox himself outcome it's incredible.
