Today I'm announcing a handy little to do list that we put together for congress.

You can see it for -- and whitehouse dot gov it's about the size -- -- post -- -- so every member of congress should have time to read it.

And making glance -- -- every so often.

That was President Obama at a campaign stop in Albany, New York taunting -- Republican members of congress saying maybe they could read his post it note if they can't bother to read his bold legislation.

And this is power play and the president has renewed.

What was his fault campaigns when his fault him -- we talked about yesterday pass this -- bill.

As he is trying to find.

Some sort of economic agenda that he can engage the public -- And it continues to -- in his case the argument that house Republicans are killing the economy because they are not going ahead with his initiative which calls for.

Higher taxes on top -- to pay for more domestic spending we will talk about that with -- Clifton who is joined -- we have to Brad was getting -- Glickman was just having it too easy -- -- we had to get a Democrat -- here to straighten you out red -- for political reasons to vote before before -- takes -- to task let us talk to let us have the good fortune of talking to bill Shuster.

He is a Republican he represents the keystone state common about the -- Pennsylvania in the United States congress a congressman how we don't.

Doing great thanks for having me on day.

Oh you bet you bet OK so.

You're on the I don't transportation committee I wanna I wanna clean this up first your on the transportation committee.

And right now the battle is raging the deadline is looming.

-- we're getting a transportation bill passed before we did sun -- can you give us a little update on that.

Well yes -- he is everybody in America knows transportation is critical to our competitiveness it's it's the backbone of the economy we get a transportation bill we.

In the house unfortunately -- are unable to pass a longer term.

Transportation bill -- now we're in conference -- the senate and we wanna move forward in three of the things that are extremely important to us in the house is to have it paid for responsibly.

Is to put our reforms and they're gonna streamlining and make sure that we are able to build roads and infrastructure quicker in this country.

And and third to make sure we have the keystone pipeline and to open up energy.

I improve media access to energy in this country to lower the prices for the American people.

But we'll -- -- this as senate Democrats are.

They very much want legislation through a house Republicans very very much want legislation through what's the sticking point.

Well first only point out that the senate.

Desperately needs legislation because they've done nothing over the last eighteen months and I.

Heard -- little clip about the president in the post it note we'll the president has a problem with accuracy he talks about congress what he really ought to be talking about the democratic controlled senate.

His party controls the senate we've -- over thirty bills dealing with the economy -- -- jumpstart this economy create jobs and the senate has has.

Throwing them in the trash can.

Not done anything with them for the president need to talk about the senate not acting I believe we're going to be able to move forward this.

Having Keystone Pipeline on board having streamlining.

And reforms to the -- transportation.

In place to help.

Jumpstart this economy.

-- -- -- on that point is there is there a level of concern on your part that the president is going to be able to turn you guys into the foil for the sputtering economy basically say he's initiatives were working and then you guys are smothering.

Economic growth.

Well he thinks the American people aren't that Smart.

When he keeps talking about congressman again it's the United States senate.

Controlled by his party that has failed to pass any type of significant legislation if the president wants something done he needs to talk to senator Reid say.

Get with John Boehner.

-- with the house move forward with legislation I think I'm gonna be able to do something.

On the transportation bill.

Because we're committed in the house and streamlining.

To reform government but to put that money out -- that is gonna help the economy along with the opening up energy reserves.

From Canada our neighbors north.

It to get that done much needed well here in the United States to keep his energy prices close to Begin moving this economy forward.

If you live in Altoona you would know him already.

But for those of you -- don't Internet we give you congressman bill Shuster congressman thanks for making time for us to thank you very much Chris appreciate great.

-- -- all the folks on the -- And I do like Altoona.

All right so.

The question for my esteemed panelists is this can the president make this day -- -- let's start with you.

I mean people don't like congress very much.

Blurb that all -- but can.

He really make this day when people think that he's doing a bad Japanese.

Well I mean -- the economy is going to beat the issue coming into the collection right now and so absolutely he's got to make a play for look I've tried to get all of these things done that will improve the economy that will create more jobs.

It will encourage businesses to bring the manufacturing jobs back -- United States.

I mean he's an election that now obviously and you know -- kicked up on Saturday in what he's trying to do is appeal to you.

Then northeast on and those voters they care about jobs the blue collar worker types in a lot of what he was talking about is five point plan how to deal with.

Helping those families are struggling with you can't.

Let me just -- -- -- -- say I would point out that he kicked off the part where he his campaign is paying for him back.

That's Saturday evening candidate we claim he's never really its pocket -- Nobody out there campaigning that's right and how politics work W bush happened to show up in Ohio a few times and yeah.

-- -- -- -- Made it to Columbus now and that's not right yes okay so -- the Republicans.

Don't look great in this because in the house.

People are frustrated -- -- there's a an argument that -- people just want to see people come together and agree I generally think that's not true ultimately because people want them to agree.

On their terms not the other team's terms but the house Republicans don't look great in all of -- -- that.

On the contrary I think they do stopping bad things from happening is what the opposition should be doing -- let me say this about post it notes.

Americans don't want a president ruling by post it notes post it notes are something you put on the refrigerator to remind your kids to wipe your feet.

Take your lunch it's not.

-- yeah I'm getting Herman Cain and all of these guys.

Why try to exploit Herman -- and -- -- writing embattled president more I think you know with good reason seven point -- -- -- -- the American people.

-- expect their president to take responsibility for something everything this president does is somebody else's problem it's Congress's problem it was George Bush's problem.

No problem -- -- it's the president's problem it's his record.

He's going to have to defend.

His record is not blame others all right but I think he -- take responsibility for his killing Osama bin Laden and Republican Hollywood -- about it didn't do anything for that this feels it is actually and he made good -- -- and the American people appreciate that decision that decision is not going to get him around like.

So it should be sued should be these these cynical practitioners of politics that we are here -- the question is this can.

The president.

Get through this process without coming up with a broader economic plans and here's the thing.

In the fall when he did his whole campaign and off Labor Day and forward it was fairly narrow.

And it was talking about sort of like a patch on the -- the underlying.

Stimulus and other programs are working the bailouts are working we just need more time here's -- -- on the try to get -- -- to the recovery.

To -- at some point -- president have to come up with a new meta narrative on the economy.

Yeah I think he's pointing out all the policies that he's tried to push through before that haven't -- and I think -- -- highlighting something that is an important problem for all Americans be talking about and that is this congress -- can't get anything done I think it's a valid point.

I -- president can't push policy by himself and does require congress that's just the fact of the matter and these are measures that would that is at.

Actually helped us this week it's ridiculous thank you for you.

You know it in terms of laying out plans I think as we've seen with Romney's what was -- 56 point plan.

Nobody gets that it didn't it hit like a ton of bricks nobody actually got -- -- his new diet so.

How he's campaigning he has two options you can either provide alternatives they can point the finger and say this guy didn't get it right he's saying this guy didn't get it right.

So I think that simplifying it absurdly easy way I -- not a problem with post it notes I have them comfort for -- I don't.

Simplified problem.

Right she's -- -- did you work -- you were on the okay that's that everything you know -- yes and point of personal privilege.

And very happy birthday to the eldest man child of our life in humans Daryl who turns for today can't decide whether he wants to be -- T Rex -- Ramadan you can be whatever you want this great nation except for maybe a dinosaur.

Would love you son and I look forward to getting together for a party tonight on the -- with Jonathan Hunt is up next.

And right now as we like to do every day we want to leave you with the word from our French -- It's I'm not too many could've done differently in campaigning.

He usually is after all these years.

And an Angel BC's -- generation of this sort of somewhat right of center Republicans is an eclipse.
