-- -- -- -- -- computer get a -- for somebody must pursue its that they are supporting me so that's more.
Republicans supporting neither Democrats supported the president so if there's a -- that the rift in the party they -- -- -- let orchards are different that they.
-- -- I got almost 40% of the vote against President Obama so the convention so I think they got more probable that side the other way to -- -- -- around me on radio in Colorado is our about the West Virginia democratic primary where in fact.
-- -- who is an inmate in federal prison in Texas a received more than 42%.
Of the vote in that primary.
Embarrassing for the Obama campaign.
He won 42% he's serving seventeen and a half years for extortion.
But it shows you of the protest vote in West Virginia and we talk a little bit about North Carolina we're back with the panel.
David if it goes to perhaps a vulnerability.
In some of these states.
That is underneath but it can you see it when these votes come -- Well I think he.
It shows that the president doesn't walk on water the way he did four years ago you don't have.
A completely energized party.
With the independents piling on who would do anything to vote out any remnant of republicanism or the Bush Administration.
It's a different ball game we saw 200000.
The Democrats of leaving North Carolina voted no preference we've seen other votes like this.
I wouldn't make tomb too much of it because in most of the states for we've seen this there's states where Obama and you know.
Wouldn't win if he when he was the only candidate in the general election.
But in a state like North Carolina that.
He wants to win again conventions in Charlotte.
You know -- couple of points one way or the other and you've got a much different election.
And it shows he has some work to do and I think that's one of the reasons we've seen even though obviously as the president unopposed in the primary.
Throughout the past few months he's been making some key overtures.
To his base -- there was the environmentalists on the keystone XL pipeline.
-- are you going after Republicans on on tax increases and -- T killer way I think it show that he was trying to say look I need -- I want you.
Please work hard turn out for me.
Not to -- to what -- Virginia because it as as David mentioned it's it's not a state that likely is gonna go democratic but you had democratic senator Joseph mansion.
Asked about this today I said that was something wasn't.
And he went to point out that it's all about energy.
Saying the West Virginia is a major coal producer and -- on the state has accused the Obama White House waging war on coal.
Well and you know -- mansion when he was running her I was pretty.
Dismissive of the president and in fact he's recently said he doesn't know he's going to vote for present that's right and I just gonna say so you what you have here in the situation where he's somewhat distant -- you know I mean.
It's I don't think that this is much more than people who just think you know I don't any anybody but those who were on the ballot and I think that there's that sentiment out there in the American mind right now.
People are just fed up with Washington and this was there a look a protest vote how does this gay marriage.
-- stuff if you will and whatever the president said today played for for those folks in some of those states that the Democrats.
Feel like the -- were going after but.
If I could just make a response to one on the West Virginia situation that was not a protest.
That was a choice between an extortionist on the one in prison.
An administration that is expropriated the coal industry which is what the state lives you have to choose between extortionist was in prison and the administration.
That has control of the EPA and that's a view and has issued a regulation a month ago that will kill call in America.
I think it's a protests would substance and I don't think it's restrictive that one state.
It's gonna spread all across Appalachia and the -- -- marriage issue I'm not sure it's gonna have a direct effect because I do think in this election.
Which is so heavily economic and jobs it will be low on the list and probably even low on the list of the social issues.
Quickly a lot of response to that sound bite from ABC the president talking about his decision making.
When he said when I think about those soldiers or airmen or Marines or sell your sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf.
Just in the past few minutes received a lot of emails and tweets about it David is that the problem with phraseology there it's.
One of timing if the president ends up in real trouble in the fall.
This is the kind of thing that could be played over and over and people could say you know what -- enough for Randy but if the president -- if the economy is recovering and right now whenever.
Excites the Republican base I think you have something to talk about the next few hours but I don't think it has any staying power whatsoever he's the commander in chief.
He should have some sense of personal connection if he's sending my son -- to get killed.
Can you imagine Dwight Eisenhower issues statement on.
Congratulating his troops and he's in Omaha Beach on his behalf it's inconceivable.
-- be inconceivable to him an effective -- -- and to Obama who actually said it I think is extremely revealing that it's as if for the battle to -- -- down --
