Hi everyone I'm meteorologist Mario Molina out from the fox -- -- weather center with your forecast for the southern plains.
As well as -- southwest and most of the southern plains are enjoying pretty nice weather for today we're talking about temperatures on the warm side.
Or near normal like Dallas 81 for your high 86 over and he's in an 85 -- we -- high temperature this afternoon.
In the city of New Orleans -- as we -- west where we actually have relatively cool temperatures across parts of the Texas Panhandle like Amarillo.
Expecting -- high temperature at 67 degrees and can be I think basically cloud cover showers and thunderstorms.
For those cooler temperatures because that's really what's helping keep things on the cooler side.
Albuquerque also relatively cool or near normal 73 for high but across -- southwest.
This is where we have extreme heat going on today 103 will be your high in Phoenix a hundred in Tucson.
And also looking at Las Vegas on the warm side with a high at 99 degrees some of these high temperatures are 1020 degrees above its gonna be normal for this time of the year.
And sunspots across Southern California hour west of Phoenix.
Could actually exceed a 110 degrees for today the one good news is that there's not a lot of humidity so it's -- -- -- dry -- we're not really talking about.
-- heat in next being a big factor in those hot temperatures but again there are some heat.
Excessive heat warnings out and watches for those regions where -- they're talking about temperatures well over a hundred degrees.
So please stay hydrated and try not to stay outdoors.
For too long and where -- lighter looser fitting clothing.
Otherwise as far as rainfall goes will be seeing more of that across parts of the Texas Panhandle down into southwestern Texas and actually a slight risk.
For some of those storms concern turn severe today across southwestern portions of Texas so keep that in mind we are looking at that race for large hail damaging winds.
And even some isolated tornadoes from some of those thunderstorms and by Tuesday morning we're expecting those storms continue to track eastward.
So Austin and we looking at a slow morning commute but it's going to be very localized.
Activities of the rest of Texas relatively quiet southwestern parts of the US also staying relatively quiet and dry.
And by Wednesday morning those showers and storms and a complex we'll continue to exit Texas meanwhile the southwest continues to stay on the warm side and also on the dry side.
Have a great everyone I'm meteorologist -- -- -- -- the fox extreme weather senator.
