Good morning I'm Doug shown and I'm here with my.

Colleagues from campaign insiders.

-- -- -- And -- lovely.

We have had a very busy week of politics.

To talk about some changes in the polls and we're gonna do something that we started last week and pat is.

Particularly interested in doing which is talking about the implications of what's been happening in Europe.

For America as well as talking about.

Some of the developments on the campaign trail but let's start with the polls.

If we could put up number one and to the Rasmussen and Gallup -- so we can get started.

You we see the Rasmussen poll which has President Obama trailing.

Governor Romney by 48 to 44.

And the USA today Gallup poll.

Showing is similar result of the president -- 46 and governor Romney at 45 pat.

Once you start tell us what you make of this well I went and make -- the -- -- even though I don't think the Romney campaign has been active but old.

Since they got became the presumptive nominee -- seen -- in -- -- Obama is sloping president's slipping his campaign events city's economic events are working against -- -- Europe.

Which interest in all those polls is at the incumbent is in the mid forties.

And that tells you there's a lot of boat floating around still for other candidates are undecided that I don't think's going to him at this.

I don't -- in the first -- you the rest of some policy has taken.

Made 1011 false and that started.

That day after the gay marriage announcement which is Wednesday that's a very good point -- and we really have to say since we were together on the dot com a week ago.

The political world was -- really -- this campaign to get the president to come out last Wednesday and come out for gay marriage.

And then came the next day which is -- hit piece on Mitt Romney and I have a feeling in these polls is it isn't going to be a backlash against the media.

-- people who think this is really dirty pool going against.

I don't know I'm ready for what he did and logical pick up on what John said.

The gay marriage -- the elite media has been saying.

That was 50%.

-- gay marriage 48 against that this is a net loss won't have much impact.

I know you have a dissenting view why don't you tell -- -- -- why -- strongly -- absolutely and limit let me start by saying we don't believe here.

It in his campaign insiders this was an accident and the bit of Biden managed to do something the president said he had to -- major fundraisers he's having trouble with.

What is with raising money in Hollywood particularly with the George Clooney event.

They had to 16 of those bombers Washington Post tells yesterday there was a lot of reasons.

But give them the impact problem is in new swing states.

Thirty their -- 31 referendums on gay marriage fell one of them has ever passes of have been supported including the ones who pulled ahead in the polls in California made ended up -- There is a stronger opinion against gay marriage in it matters with key democratic constituents we saw last week in North Carolina.

It was 6040.

Actually over 6044.

Amendment to not only -- gay marriage -- civil unions which I think is ridiculous but nonetheless it did.

And you know the -- that the Obama carried.

In no way which going to be heavily African American with a counties that led the parade in voting for this.

There is a lot of cross pressuring the blue collar Democrats minority Democrats.

In terms of the social issues the president we've learned today was on the phone.

The black ministers trying to talk them into why his position was OK you got some push back.

We -- gonna see this is not.

This is not helpful because the president has made it from a non issue in the galvanizing I believe.

The social -- And I think also.

It's the second week in a row where with the economy now deteriorating again all indications statistically.

Job creation slowed down the problems that had always brings up coming from Europe over here and China's slowing up.

We're all back going on this guys off talking about other stuff one -- he's in Afghanistan it's spiking the football with -- a lot.

Last week it's all gay marriage today here in New York he's gonna talk -- gay marriage and Ricky Martin again.

Yes that would look at -- visitor -- This is a good I'm sorry I didn't mean I just only -- easier he's here and I'm thinking today the Romney campaign was under attack by the Obama campaign went after Romney.

On his job creation record of Bain Capital.

It and picking up a theme that Newt Gingrich and others -- used in the primary and has workers saying how we destroyed -- and so forth on the economy.

This is also the president -- -- Wall Street who was here today in Wall Street.

Raising money at 40000 dollars -- plate.

For his campaign reelection go back to my point about this is somewhat -- -- gay American the president runs the risk if the -- to move them back to.

If the Romney campaign Republicans could ever learn how to speak to Democrats.

Too weak Democrats weak independents who lean democratic.

They would learn that they -- real possibility there I would like your opinion Doug I think there's feature in under the party would voters typically voted for Hillary Clinton you know it.

They -- more conservative Democrats that older Democrats.

And I think this idea of class that the president has to -- holiest and raising big money from big people.

Is support potential problem if Romney could deal with a good seasonally -- can he do it.

Well I would like to see if we can show the -- that pat was talking to.

Before I offer my answers present unequivocal answer is that -- available.

I was a steelworker for thirty years.

-- first are working I looked around we had 5500 employees is like a city inside of the city.

Steele would always be needed in nine states from someone can.

Guaranteed job.

We were much more than just co workers we became very good friends.

We made parts for automotive.

We made parts for nuclear plants we made you know bars we have.

This was an -- that goes on if there's a web version for six minutes.

32 version on TV that basically says that the jobs went away because of playing capital.

I think this is an effective attack it was an effective one by Ted Kennedy in 1994.

But John to your question.

I -- and I have an equivocal answer -- I don't know.

-- exactly right Romney and his.

-- don't talk well to Democrats.

Democrats and independents.

Like to hear plain speaking about real world problems.

They're not looking for ideology they're not looking for absolutes they're looking for real programs real ideas and so far we haven't heard anything.

What we don't we have the Gallup numbers the reason -- -- -- the Obama campaign is undertaken this attack is if you look at the latest Gallup poll wanted to ask about the economy.

Not only was Romney two points ahead of president when asked if they were elected.

-- how the economy would be in their in their term 61 of 33 thought Romney would do a good job.

Was only that was -- that was a huge mark.

This is legally equivalent and that is opening a and it's only eight points fifty to 44 for Obama right right or and and -- was 62 to thirty -- He won 33 it's excellent so so there is and what his point that is in the poll the key to where Romney should be gone he should be talking as we've said.

Have an economic plan.

I want to ask you guys this question I haven't asked you -- -- what if Romney came out.

And said.

I -- embracing Simpson Bowles as the basis for my economic here would be the attack the attack would be here now flip flop.

You're willing to raise taxes he residual.

Raise taxes Grover Norquist.

Condemn -- -- And that would happen so he's boxed it.

He is fun but thought he could still.

Have some more visionary plan a plan don't want a little bit was explained -- that he could bulls didn't raise taxes that he -- -- -- it.

Countrymen actually cut it's cut what it did it did not -- cut.

It actually.

Good -- cut down tax rate for the cup all the exemptions.

So driving it very -- -- -- that home -- not Grover Norquist so we have global marketplace he has the final arbiters what you can we -- know this is why the repair.

These users Romney -- Grover Norquist who is -- force -- it -- -- force in in American politics but determined.

End and done more damage to Republicans and conservatives and any single person in America.

Enough I wanna see when he's not helping all other solicit interest but he -- -- -- Abramoff and the Indians the but you know we have here on this economy and let's go to Europe and talk about this tremendous.

One of the reasons that -- say here's -- they're looking -- -- the world ski any.

Germany had a second round I guess my mind doctor shown as the -- -- Germany has and another election in the largest ADT.

Present in the German vote north wind and no -- around and the Bellwether for the countries -- The SDP.

One.

The FDP went up and share the vote pirate party got 8% the left got some votes basically in Europe what we're seeing what.

Happy new ruling majority she went down ten points ten last election on his right now.

Gonna study these things mr.

Fidel thank you I'm trying to learn well yeah I understand.

I have been -- that I haven't made an assignment for pat and his second.

But I've been -- Condit to do the European works for -- team I thought I would tell you Serbia.

Italy who.

Germany.

Greece all showing ruling party is declining parties on the far left and far right -- protests.

Rising up.

Mean substantial measure to challenge -- because of dissatisfaction.

And what we've talked about here is that in America there are only two parties know independence on the ballot and hence we are effectively bottling up.

In my.

Opinion.

Real dissent.

-- As kind of -- one -- please because we were to finish on the gay marriage please let -- -- which we talked about yes a little bit which is that.

The Washington Post ran this piece which we showed yesterday -- apple put on here usually pats are different this thing here for Washington Post on Friday above the -- means it's very important news.

And this is 5500.

Words on Mitt Romney in boarding school -- we're not showing it now but anyway.

5500.

Words of stories about what he did as a teenager in high school.

As if this is relevant to being president of the United States.

You don't and it tells us that this media is in the tank for Obama like -- never just one of.

Reasons he did gay marriage Obama did was because his lap dog press political press was hammering him for -- -- position after would Biden did.

In the president doesn't get every time his lap dogs.

He -- even market him.

He collapses he's very thin skinned and I think that was belong with the money is a reason this happened.

But this is unbelievable nothing like this was on against Obama for the Washington Post but here's the -- That look the country knows that the press is in the tank the country thinks of me -- either political present in the establishment -- -- -- but the Republicans and abroad we can't -- everybody is still living in the world when god you don't attack somebody buys ink by the barrel.

Well people don't read this anymore and you know it until Republicans make that an issue in this campaign they will pay the price of being hammered every issue.

By the press and they are they're they're really -- all the guys that ran this time and gals including Michelle -- the one Republican.

The oil field doesn't have it enough to go after the media with venom that run well they get -- -- how -- -- -- -- Paul Kelly Johnson.

If it did help news.
