And welcome back to foxnews.com live I'm Patti -- brown and it's time now for our bias bash where we take a look at how the mainstream media.

Is covering one of the big issues of the day and joining us today for the bias -- Is Justin duck with talk news we're talk radio news that -- and he's joining us now.

A live from our DC bureau thanks for being with us.

Hey it's great to be here and you talk about how the media is covering the -- gay marriage issue and in particular.

They are the media's acceptance of his explanation that his position was -- Exactly this out.

Announcement was made nearly a week ago and we are still seeing the media called this a bold decision.

Almost universally and really it's not that bull.

His decision is miles away from where plenty of -- -- wanted to be.

You know he is still saying that states should have the right.

To go on particular issues even though he saw very well how that went North Carolina and he is also.

Also the timing of this announcement it was a little strange.

Instead of coming out the day before the North Carolina vote and you know -- not swaying the vote at least giving support to those who opposed amendment one on the ground he waited until the day after where there would be less political fallout.

And -- frankly a lot of this just seems.

Basically political.

And you also noted that he has said that he does not intend at this point to make it -- part of the democratic plank.

Exactly he's not joining with the groundswell of support to have this be part of -- democratic party's official platform.

And it really just reflects the fact that on this issue he seems to be doing the bare minimum.

All right and now gonna move on to the police story Mitt Romney before he was even in college.

Had this incident which we've all discussed.

Quite a bit.

Where he believed the student cut cut his hair.

Later turned out the student was -- there's no indication that Romney knew that at the time but but mainly he was in high school and you say.

That -- coverage of this issue just violates the longstanding unwritten principal.

That the media.

Just doesn't really delve into anything that happened before somebody was even in college.

Exactly it's sort of an unspoken -- that you let youthful indiscretions slide unless if it's you know Bruce Lee.

Saying.

How it's gonna affect your term as the president and just you know as an aside I you know feel sympathy for the victim in this case I had long blond -- in high school.

But how if I was ever put in that situation I don't think that that would be immediate grounds for that person to never be president.

You know -- we've seen that politicians like most teenagers have.

Done stupid things and typically you know we've never seen this come up to the point where is really viewed as essentially this qualifier.

You know we know for a fact that Hillary Clinton supported Barry Goldwater but we don't have people thinking that she's a you know closet Republican in the background we have Obama who experimented with drug use but there -- you know -- nobody.

Credible leads to things that he is still doing drugs in the White House.

And I really just don't believe that we have somebody who is a sociopath -- bully currently running under the Republican banner.

Despite the fact that the story seems to at least point in that direction.

-- to bring in now Eric ever bomb our panelists here with me on the set.

-- some people are saying that it really the only reason that this story is being used is because it turned out that this guy was gay something that he apparently.

Would not -- Well look first of all that it -- it is true there's a there's a definite bias here.

Obama -- years which he -- himself out of his own book of drug abuse and alcohol use and that nobody really ever talks about it got dismissed.

As others should be behind me he was a kid just like Romney was although that's that there's something to be sandbox the -- of how you behave in the sandbox when -- -- child might be the same -- behavior in real life it in the real world.

And often extrapolate from one story.

When he was very young that he's gone out to be a bully -- I haven't heard a second story like it so it doesn't really sound patterns and.

You know -- -- that's just -- Britt Hume brought up the same point over the weekend on the air that.

You know usually the media wouldn't cover something like listen let's face off a -- and you have one incident that multiple witnesses say definitely happen but there's no.

Other incidents nothing that would suggest that this was a pattern something that was -- with him does that matter.

I they had I think that's a very good point you know if this wasn't pattern you take a look at at least if if he continued to show this behavior well to a well into his adult years.

Then we would have a serious problem but.

This is something that took place 47 years ago nearly half a century ago and you know while I understand sandbox theory.

I think that's sort of the -- prediction to make especially considering that a lot of young would be politicians today are.

Sharing their you know on this deeds all of her -- I don't know I was talking a lot in the sandbox and I think -- I'm still talking a lot and that's I got the theory from.

That's that's an interesting point though that now -- any youthful indiscretions are gonna live forever on YouTube and whatnot and FaceBook so but so just didn't.

Why did the Washington Post not only run the story -- run it where they ran it and win as many words as they ran at west.

Because timing it was the perfect timing for this story which they had.

Obviously been working on for a while they released it for the maximum impact.

You know which you.

We can't blame them for doing you know there in the news business they have to focus on what's newsworthy.

But you know just the way it was formed really seems like it was sort of a manufactured scandal and it really does not deserve the amount of attention that -- getting and I'm surprised that it -- -- had legs to really last so long.

Well let it lip legs because the one that was the Washington Post into the place where it wasn't the the page it goes on in the Washington Post.

But I mean I think if you ask editors across the country of all all all the major newspapers.

How they judge what they should put in the Paper you know with without patent.

It did -- You bully as it's happened repeatedly throughout the years with the article didn't do it all I didn't see the story there whatsoever and I'm very surprised that it.

Finally gotten the Paper got the paperwork that obviously put a lot of time -- that story.

And is related.

Yes so just -- you know I think the people keep on bringing up I mean we mentioned president Obama's drug use for the people are saying.

What are the fact that we know virtually no thing at all all about his childhood that that this has almost nothing there why isn't the media digging more.

And to him.

-- you know I wouldn't say there's nothing there and you know we have seen the media.

Focus on some of it and his upbringing was actually a large part of his coverage in the 2008 campaign.

I'm not necessarily a negative way but just that you that he.

Was raised you know by a single mother and really.

You know I had eight international upbringing and whatnot.

But you know the fact remains that this.

We're not we were talking on the ground his childhood not Barack Obama's childhood and that just that strikes lot of people in a pretty strange way.

-- -- Now I you know that article it just went on and on and on and on I don't know how many words they could even -- to make an article -- I was very surprised to see them myself.

And I you know I think that brilliant points of that but I also -- about the -- pattern are just dead on I don't know why any editor -- that -- All right.

We've got some comments on this coming in know Romney is not a bully he may have done a couple of foolish things in high school.

So -- -- and then somebody else says the president and all members of congress are bullies the president uses the bully pulpit that.

All right Justin.

We're gonna wrap it up but would be.

This idea that you basically anyone as they become president there their aggressive.

-- type a personalities.

Does that play into -- at all.

You know I think if you actually want to be president there's something probably wrong with you but that's conversation for different.

All right Justin diluted -- -- -- -- thank you let's let's thank you so much for joining us.

They didn't want to remind people that you to watch more -- coverage of the coverage you can always watch FOX News Watch it airs every Saturday twice.

230 and an 11:30 PM eastern time it's hosted by John Scott.

-- is a panel of folks on all sides of the political aisle a debating how the media is covering.
