Martha -- they would begin a series that will take is the counties in America that have always told us where America is when -- votes.

They're called bellwethers and our first up Texas to Ohio and specifically in the Buckeye State.

On the economy things have gotten a little better in the Buckeye State just recently.

The unemployment rate is lower than it was before.

Right now it's seven point 5% which is better than they used to be.

And it's below the national average so we went to Ohio which is always sort of forecasted future and tells us were politically things are.

If you go back to 2008 now and the result sport from 2008.

When Barack Obama went up against John McCain.

In Ohio it went -- went democratic -- 52 to 47%.

But specifically in Ohio up here in the northeast.

And start counting that's where you find -- Ohio it mirrored the state total at 53 to 47%.

As Stark County has a way of picking winners always has in its election so we wanted to find out how are they doing today.

It's only 400 jobs but -- is industries in north Kenton Ohio has done something rare in American business.

It brought manufacturing jobs from China back home -- that means working smarter and reengineering the company space heaters.

And for Troy Conley who was out of a job for six months in history key and back to work.

It's only source of income I have right now so I'm very fortunate that that the company was there and they like what they see them they have hired him.

We found for those still struggling for a firm financial footing.

This November's election is critical that we need to focus on the people we need to focus on the jobs we need to focus on this country becoming.

Strong again in Ohio is an absolute must win Carl Taylor possessed a little government and what we're Harrison Walsh University.

Manufacturing has been hammered the victim of a decades long decline.

When this Hoover factory closed for good five years ago it left behind several 100000 feet of empty space.

And it left behind a hole in this town that has yet to be filled.

We spoke to dozens of people throughout -- county and for most of them.

The number one issue in this election.

Is making their economy strong again did you -- that used to work here are a lot of my friends.

The redesigned his company's heater that helped bring back -- 400 jobs and China.

For him.

America's future is on the line in November we are overspending ourselves we can't afford to spend the money that we're doing that we were spending it now.

We've got to do something to to slow that down.

Or we are going to be in trouble that kind of trouble that stark Downey knows all.

So how good is Ohio would picking winners it is gone with the winner in 27.

Of the last 49 presidential elections President Obama winning that four years ago and in 2004.

By a -- George Bush over John Kerry.

No Republican has ever won the White House without winning the Buckeye State you're gonna hear that mantra repeated time and time again over the next six months.

Very interesting and it's fascinating as Stark County had the exact percentage breakdown of the overall.

Take for -- McCain and President Obama.

Back in 2008 so at what what's your sense of where that this -- is dot com.

Two years ago there unemployment rate was thirteen point 2%.

I don't know how anyone gets through that it's come down since then remarkably router and -- point 3% which.

Sort of mirrors the national average so it's better but is it good enough and that's the question the White House has to answer.

And I also that is really interesting that some of those manufacturing jobs came back from China because -- -- -- we've been hearing about quite a bit.

That it is becoming more attractive for manufacturers in the United States to operate here is that -- summit to be a trend that -- I.

Think so but are they gonna get all the jobs back that they had before I think the answers -- it's another you have to change their business plan and the one thing you're gonna start hearing from start counting eastern Ohio fracking.

In energy because the companies out of Texas and Louisiana percent of their workers out there as having a small impact in the economy right now.

But once they're able to hire local workers and train them in the way they want -- to be train that economy could go huge.
