-- is.

One of the top targets for the Republican Party in the US senate this year senator Claire McCaskill of the great state of Missouri.

Who is certainly at the at the very tippy top of the Republican -- -- As they tried to flip for seeds from blue to red.

In an endeavor to take back the United States senate for the first -- first time since 2006.

And this is power play and high.

And Chris -- -- I'm very glad to be back with you and very grateful to change regimes here in my place yesterday.

And I'm also grateful that we have a bonanza of political also notes for you today we will be joined.

By study jeopardy player Chris Wallace he will be here we will talk to Bill Hemmer who is breaking down the counties account.

Across the United States starting obviously with Ohio we will talk to Steve -- But first let's talk to one of the people who would very much like to be the person who gets to do the unseating.

Of Claire McCaskill that Sarah Steelman.

You're a former treasurer of the state of Missouri -- your former member of the Missouri State Senate those things are true those things are true I'm batting a thousand already.

I I didn't get that rusty.

So you have a primary and it is win and it is how many people are you running.

It's August happened yeah those kind of -- and I have two main opponents aren't.

Where that.

You won't make it kind of hits you wanna say their Macs well we congress today and yes and ads on -- Okay so here's how it's breaking down at in Missouri is that you have the same thing happening there that we've seen in Nebraska that we've seen in other places that certainly we saw a lot of and 2010.

Which is parties are having a hard -- the Republican Party is having a hard time deciding who's in charge around here.

And -- -- the Tea Party movement is still there outsiders are still there you're sort of any unique position.

You are somebody who held statewide elective office to somebody who has a political resume as a -- -- politically connected family but you are still.

Much beloved by the folks in the Tea Party in Missouri right.

Right yes OK -- like that to the question is all of you guys are pretty conservative though it's not like it's certainly the congressman Aiken is.

One of the most conservative members of the house right.

Well he's he has supported earmarks spoke with time.

Firmly against okay -- -- yes let me tell you you know we.

There's the three of us -- our our conservative I am I believe.

To be that the fire of the group and I think that's what distinguishes me from the other team.

My attitude punish congressman -- he's been in Washington for twelve years and I always say if you like the way things have been -- last twelve years -- -- -- not.

-- -- -- You know if you -- somebody's gonna go to Washington and shake things up.

Under get out okay because that's what I do -- I I do what I say I'm gonna do and in Missouri I think people understand that that's.

That's who -- -- and that's that's how I've represented them.

And I think that's what the kind of person they're looking for -- you've got to represent them in Washington.

Gained some new.

Appreciation.

Among sort of mainstream Republicans in 2010.

When you opted against what would have proven to be probably a very tough primary battle with -- block.

That was that Roy Blunt who got elected to the senate.

That could've been that could have been a really tough fight.

This fight is not as tough that you guys seem to be pretty civil so far right.

So far we are.

So yeah.

Thing out but so are you guys are being pretty -- Even so -- Democrats say this is helping this is advantage and Claire McCaskill who is one of the most vulnerable Democrats in the senate because you guys are gonna be -- this -- until August.

Well I don't I don't accept that -- castles and controlling history because she's not representing the best -- best interest.

Of missourians and all she has done has been a rubber stamp.

For President Obama and all of his.

Policies that are absolutely ruining our economy.

And certainly.

It doesn't look likely that the president is going to be able Braylon is -- this year he's he's he's down in the polls there but McCaskill is a tough cookie she.

Campaigns well and she enjoys the fight.

And she's also had a lot of ways that you can differentiate itself from the president.

Has -- Now -- We've got this premise is not accept it -- I don't -- yeah I got a -- -- because if she voted for obamacare you despite the fact that it was -- it was the first state in the country.

To pass a resolution rejecting.

The mandate.

So she just ignored the wishes of -- experience she's that -- for his fiscal stimulus package.

She has I didn't think she's had an opportunity to vote.

For balanced budget amendment she didn't take it yesterday she voted no against the balanced budgets presented by the Republicans.

But offers nothing honor.

It's you know she does does not represent the interest some historians and what she does.

Is -- right along with everything the President Obama won't.

It's now one of the things that happen in 2010 was that there were some.

Hard feelings between Republicans insurgent Republicans.

Can't win and they saw the national party.

Sort of putting their thumb on the scales where their preferred candidate.

Ends in some places.

It.

Worked out in that Rand Paul in Kentucky.

Be golden boy Trey Grayson.

Beat him bad and then went on to it handily win.

In the general election but in Delaware Christine O'Donnell went head to head essentially with the republic national Republican Party wanted Mike castle and not her.

Do you think the national Republicans are being cool about your primary -- they are they doing at the right.

Yes I think they're mostly staying out of the way it the primary and I think that's a good thing.

And you know Missouri we're.

We're gonna fight it out I think it but as I thought I think you the choice will be made based on.

Who voters think will go to Washington and -- -- up for their.

Best interests and fight for them despite the political consequences you know enough.

I think what they see happening here in Washington State that -- People are just completely disconnected from what they're going through.

It in the -- pretty.

-- -- and we won't leave you with this from one of your former constituents Charles -- of Fulton Missouri.

Who says time to pack your bags senator McCaskill Missouri is not happy with you and we most likely will be sending Sarah Steelman to Washington for -- for Sarah how.

And that you gotta like your visit to power play that round of course I.

So much we that you're gonna take.
