They have mini Samuel L.

Jackson moments on flights I truly appreciate this next segment I mean I have had situations traveling with my toddler's.

We're flight attendants and others have left me screaming.

-- I killed a man would you again.

And -- just some help -- we travelers you bet there is Ron Kaufman is here he is up lifting service the author of that.

Good morning I confessed.

Good morning expected to be -- -- I heard your convention.

Travel from ticket counters to the TSA how do we get better service when we travel.

Well the important thing to remember is just like there's always two sides to every story there are actually two sides to every service situation.

One side is the service provider the flight attendant TSA somebody at the hotel.

But the other side is the customer.

And both sides can contribute to giving and getting good service by being uplifting towards one another it's not just a one way street.

-- -- you're you're telling me that that going.

On a plane grumpy.

Is probably not good for -- I I knew that but there's some other things that you want us to think about.

Well let's take a look at what is the definition.

Of service this is what I write about in the book uplifting service and -- dot com.

Service is taking action to create value for someone else don't like about the service provider to do that for us they should take action to create value for you -- for me -- the customer.

But you as the customer.

Could also take some action to create value for the service provider.

Like managing your mood being polite saying thank you are being prepared and that can make a big difference.

I love that well -- techie guy taking action to create value for someone else are there are an and we could put some tips up on the screen from Ron.

Be appreciative impolite get your service providers name of intrastate.

Sure and use it say thank you.

Parents thank you -- the person is actually serving you know I work at night I often take early Monday morning flights.

And I'm traveling with toddlers and my husband.

He's a teenager basically.

I don't always feel number three on this list at 5:30 in the morning at JF KB upbeat.

Provide information just the way they won it what does that mean.

Well it means that you need service if you need help.

You would could have whatever data our information service provider may require.

And remember they have some procedure some process so rather than just showing up and throwing it all -- them you might start by saying.

Thanks so much for helping me I've got my information ready let me know how would you like me to pass it to you make it easier for them to serve you.

Now I -- you know what I like you run because you're you're enabling me to manipulate things in a positive manner confirmed next actions that sounds very military.

Well actually you just said the key word which is enabling and what -- really looking to do is building -- -- Where everybody is enabling each other to give better service and then of course to enjoy a better service whether that's with a customer or -- colleague or throughout the entire company or.

In our entire culture.

So something like confirming next action is just being able to say thank you I understand and they he'll be doing XY.

Three I -- makes it easier for people to -- can keep promises yeah that's like an RS VP on a promise -- quickly when appropriate commiserate.

So -- -- -- -- the flight attendant you know I didn't really miss the days when you guys were those shorter skirts.

What what you know the couple.

I would say hey let's say you need a service provider is not having a good day and it happens to all of us yet -- could be that person who simply gives them a smile and says.

I can see it's a tough day I'll let you know I appreciate you serving me.

And that could be the moment where they turnaround.

And that makes an impact on everybody else they serve all day long.

Each of us can be responsible for uplifting service in this world.

You know I don't know what your politics are Richard seated at our bureau in front of the capitol I'm wondering would you run for office of something -- -- seem like a really good guy.

It could be -- reason it's called government service and public service and civil service -- remind them also can you know the.

I can't Ron Kaufman author of -- listing service is -- us on this Thursday thank you come back any time.

Thank you so -- now next to me who was -- --
