And -- -- very little energy as written total memory make over Clinton for your fans.

Security of future for nine foot you know taxi and evening shade and and eventually put them really pay you know I think it I -- know I'm gonna.

-- I can talk to you thank you very much now you have this what's called highly superior.

Auto biographical memories trailers -- -- -- -- -- Yes -- superior autobiographical.

Matt has done very like your bragging but I that the -- he wouldn't go so now -- how does is actually work.

Well.

They're back of their kind of trying to figure out because there's so few of us that and I've had this memory my entire life and I did know was such a big deal because you know when your kids you just think everybody thinks kind of the way you do.

So even as a tiny little girl I knew.

You know that that's how I just I just remembered everything and people would -- It's expected her memory and they called me mr.

memory -- the memory -- things like that and it wasn't until lightly a little bit older that I started to realize no one else in my circle have had it but I figured they were.

Thousands hundreds of thousands of people who did.

But it wasn't until the whole sixty minutes thing came about and let the Stahl asked me to -- Participate in and -- on camera and be tested on camera.

And so now they have twelve that's documented.

More people are coming forward and they're testing more people it's -- but.

Yet you know -- December 19 of 2010.

They're big into two parts sixty minutes that sort of explain the science of mad -- you know the medical aspect of it and -- just basically you remember almost every single detail of your life.

So if I were to give you would date.

Could you tell me what you did on that day.

Probably I mean you know sometimes -- -- take longer than others.

And so you know I'll say I'll be thinking of something and then.

You know something's come up like immediately and then some things typically my -- sort of -- to the closest thing to it.

It's kind of like selected -- -- you know -- -- on the dvd.

Brian and you -- you remember like 200 days a year right back.

Think people would but it did they say that that.

Most people remember 8211 days throughout any given year and people with a -- remember 200.

Plus.

And an offense throughout -- any give.

Well I have -- I have a particular daily to give you.

And I do that isn't what let's -- this -- -- march 13 1987.

March 13 1987.

March 15 1987.

Was I wanna be -- now.

I think in 1987.

Was a Friday that's.

And I was doing the Broadway Show to.

Social Security at the time I think he's -- -- That -- I did not know -- That's what I was doing and you know -- But you know she did that then.

-- on your show yes.

And the net that can help but I know that I do you think you're right you know that a sudden we knew it was a Friday that's pretty impressive young anyways there's a New Orleans as of Friday.

And then like we did the main thing the game happened and then you know I would -- -- I'm sorry -- and that we are now.

I was on WNBC in new York at thirty Rockefeller plaza.

And you -- on my show that night.

And I'm -- gonna play you a clip of that -- here's here's -- me with -- manner.

On -- march 13 1987.

Am very -- Henry is with issues of Social Security of course -- -- from taxing.

-- you played Elaine narco -- -- Fugitive still cautiously narco.

Had an article and I thought -- -- -- analysts and -- now everything about it.

-- In -- Peter -- of -- Hollywood circles.

And we're very interesting -- Mary Lou welcome to Peter when when Peter walked and it's an amateur on what July 20 ninth nineteen whatever that they it was.

Whether -- put in yeah samaritan life.

The Monday.

How do you remember isn't -- and I think for dates I remember like everything hit -- these -- -- -- less popular online through all that stuff that your hand that I don't remember -- and so that's an interesting that that came up that night.

Peter Marshall was in the studio with -- -- That's funny and you know what's so yeah I remember now the hoping it completely coming back which could -- you know what's so funny that people keep.

-- -- -- -- Never talked about this before and why every high maintenance we talked about -- I keeping people you must -- getting I've been talking about this for years it's just that nobody could wrap their -- to -- If you look at the Peter Marshall until the -- -- last seen him.

-- -- and by the way there is another actress on the show with -- that -- it was in Social Security -- I Caroline Aaron -- -- right.

That -- by the -- member then then no I never.

Thought -- -- you're wearing.

I was wearing kind of like.

Pink colored top with I have no idea -- I -- -- I don't know you adapt and I thought -- -- with the -- jacket I remember I remember that yeah.

Frank and little black dress.

That's I think.

Now the perfect side -- this is fun for me just to be able to -- that because.

I didn't know if you knew that we had talked before.

And -- -- on my shoulders years ago but you wouldn't necessarily know that.

But you didn't know that was a Friday didn't know it was but -- -- -- security on that date -- promoting the show your in new York and.

I remember the holy like the lay out of here at this -- were sitting him.

Acutely you know I could probably draw a little diagram that businesses that -- challenge of being on the radio.

You know what color we are on -- 30 Rock.

That you got.

Second floor but Jana I don't keep tennis even just -- his family.

Would come -- comeback you know like.

Things sort of like it's like out.

If I got a photograph developing in the trade thing run more than trying to play god -- I just that a political document didn't know that -- I I'm so glad that you have the proof in the.

What I talked.

All right and I forgot -- UN actually mentioned this to Peter Marshall that night now the purpose of total memory makeovers at it now you can anybody can't do this right.

The average person.

Can't do -- you can do.

The average person probably not but I think a lot more people will come forward as a result of my book because a lot of times that I'm buying people things.

The only good that's kind of the remind my memory were extracted I just never knew it I never heard anyone describe -- in court.

And how much more compassion to people when they -- some of these.

Things that I just do naturally you know -- With my memory and also I think teaching classes and both -- married dot com and all over the country seminars in memory.

That is something that -- fascinated me.

And -- and I worked with people individually and that never been anybody that I've worked it into -- there is individually that couldn't remember more than many thought -- -- Now what you'd recommend this book -- on how you take painful memories and help deal with your emotional baggage from them for example have people don't want to face -- members of the -- away from the don't think.

But you know what.

Bristol memory is tied to adrenaline both positive and negatively that you're gonna remember the bad stuff anyway.

I keep saying why not -- and -- that some of those -- little our accountant you know.

More mundane moments from your life that all of a sudden you know yeah -- family vacation or that dinner with my.

Kids there you know but when the time we played you know the baseball afterschool Willard Scott lightning bugs they're -- whenever.

It's like so many different things.

But also.

But -- -- your bad memories is like turning them into emotional -- men.

Or things yourself.

You know OK I'm reading this book and in chapter ten the protagonist goes to something bad so I'm not going to react.

But that inform the rest of the story so how can you avoid it would you know crazy so how can you to be about a chunk of your thinking when you when you really -- Florida and sort of relive the memories in a certain point you get a different perspective.

And expect to see it with you know more grown -- sensibility into something where it's not just the complaint from the pain in the you know all that you say.

OK well maybe I had some responsibility in this to that person had all the responsibility.

It's not all data on my -- -- you know didn't -- that.

-- -- Mary -- manner and the new book is total memory make over.

He -- at four types of memory right horizontal vertical mushrooming and sporadic what are the.

Well in teaching these memory classes I started to think OK you know everybody thinks that if you give them a memory prompt that they have to tell you.

Point by point by point instead of a chronological order.

And I keep saying no.

Good memories.

Come Q and all different ways and trying to control them is like trying to control it greens sometimes.

So I realized in inspecting -- Myself I realize that I that there were four different race until horizontal.

Memory retrieval would be that typical chronological.

Linear.

Memory bank and so I used the example and -- way it in the book.

Like if I think he OK tell me about that wedding he went to man it was great we got there on Friday we went to the rehearsal dinner.

Saturday morning -- -- -- that you know he typical point to point.

But it myself I was that wedding -- -- I got into a conversation with my cousin at the reception and start going deeper and deeper and deeper into a specific type a -- part of that weekend.

And then mushrooming would be if he -- I'll -- -- at this great person and now working together and we.

You know where you gonna do a business big deal about -- something has mushroomed.

Strong from that very specific wedding.

Or a sporadic memory would be if you set out man I was there there was somebody there that -- just like my old boss.

And man I was right back -- -- taking you know crap from him.

You know and the sport to a completely different things that had nothing to do with the way.

Is this more fun -- you doing this than acting.

Writing writing and talking about this kind of stuff -- I think so I will recite I love talking about memory especially I -- -- -- -- help I mean I'd love health.

Most of my books are written about health I love writing I've always looked directly and so and I look into that you might like all of it I got to feel good you can almost every single thing I do.

That's correct and now and Mary -- dot com has all kinds of information about what you're doing now on the stuff you teach in and what's in your book in it's -- -- -- Mary Lou does come.

But you have your first name -- your -- and.

So well -- -- unusual balance I think the paper.

In a few years and -- -- you again and see where -- you doing on May.

Seventeen.

And maybe you -- And he'll remember it now that's right and the book is called total memory make over Maryland winner thank you very much for talking there was an.

You feel not so fast I love that -- it ever been -- I can't wait apparently -- listening -- tape of me makes kind of freaks me out but but you know -- -- -- -- now.

Do I have a New York accent background a little bit more maybe so maybe so but you sound the same.

You look well to thank you very much target it was appreciated very much I think units.
