What you can call it to make a wish for our military some lucky wounded warriors are getting a lift from generous Americans to make their dreams come true and give -- -- R&R after sacrificing so much.

Joining me now as a co-founder of Powell's -- -- And gunnery sergeant John Hayes who went on one of these trips to Chicago guys ACC this morning welcome to FOX & Friends the morning.

-- are -- you how did you come up with this idea to help our veterans this way.

Well we have joined with various organizations that help other military people.

Military organizations and we join with them.

Two.

Go down to Bethesda and you know little R&R it's really wonderful way to get them out of the hospital they're there for many months at a time.

And for them to be able to go out and see the world see that does that.

Citizens of this country really embrace them -- really wonderful thing in and enables and to come back and and have a little bit more.

Hope for the rehabilitation -- to come out.

Yeah everyone needs a vacation and surgeon John -- you had one of these trips you actually.

You were actually able to fly on one of these flights that -- Joseph was able to provide what does this mean for you.

It it was a it was phenomenal Clinton to say it was dream come true is it's is there wasn't a -- a -- as a kid.

Live in Florida.

So what ever go to Chicago Bulls -- -- -- would never happen.

So when I was approached by but by Joseph and my friend might.

That we could go.

I was floored I was jumped out of my chair.

Well and I couldn't -- to -- the floor in and in.

And go to go to yes they -- ground it is United -- so I'm very thankful to do that I'm jealous I would love to do you guys that are some time to it's awesome.

And and and and John if you're a double amputee you -- -- or use a wheelchair still active duty in the Marine Corps evil wife and three daughters.

You mean he's obviously and know this is such a tight community of those who have sacrificed so much for their country what does it mean for other individuals to just get out get some air get a little bit rest and relaxation because that.

That time in the hospital getting back to who you really are being able to rehabilitate take some time ticks and after what does that mean to you.

Is it really does Clinton and that's that's the that's really the -- unseen side of the rehabilitation.

Is the depression is the days and months in the hospital you know -- this is a devastating injury for most guys.

You know in in the military.

You know were were pretty headstrong pretty confident and when you lose the majority your body and know your lives forever changed I know on -- -- my daughter's done oh and -- that hurt me deeply.

But when I get invited to the Chicago Bulls.

-- auditorium and in the united senator.

And that that really kind of helps you know -- -- get my mind off off the negative and really -- on the positive and a life can turn around and there are good people out there that care about me.

-- -- -- -- -- -- what does this mean to you and your organization being -- Provide this free air transportation for veterans in this country who have sacrificed so much what does it do to your heart -- must it must really.

Make you feel really special to be able to do something like.

Yes -- really does and now what's really great about it with these temperatures is like get to stay with them overnight -- -- two -- that we stay.

It's a fabulous thing some one of the triplets at my son.

So they get to see the sacrifice that that people.

His age actually have have had to endure and it's are really a lot lot of fun and what I really get a lot of enjoyment out of -- to watch.

The soldiers the second day because they really relaxed throughout the public they're seeing that they're not.

You know the non non show let's say or -- for show and you just really having a good time and it's a wonderful.

I think -- -- is able to do to.

To offer that to them.
