Here in the United Kingdom already Jenna and a double dip recession the number of people reliant on food banks to feed themselves doubled in the last year and to meet that demand.

A new food bank opens in this country every week.

It's often for people who were recently gainfully employed until recently like this man who had a successful construction company.

Until things suddenly dried up a recent survey shows one in five people in this country borrowing money to buy food.

People say the slide into desperation can be very quick.

And in Italy entering its third quarter of negative GDP this story has been even more dramatic recently.

There's been a rash of what's called austerity suicide.

This man burned himself outside the tax offices in Italy barely -- day in that country goes by without a suicide or massive media focus on the suicide story.

Because it's all been very public last week people hung effigies -- presenting some of those suicide victims and hung them off a bridge in round Jana.

A recent study at the university of -- finds.

That one in four Italian children.

Is that is at risk of entering into poverty.
