We're gonna go now to Washington where Justin -- went from talk radio news service is joining us -- we have had a heated.
Debate and great comments from our viewers on the issue of these lawsuits now for the contraception mandate hasn't media handling it.
That's a good question and that really -- opponents of this provision should be thrilled because.
They're really getting a -- -- in the media what was kind of the disaster last time around.
You know you know if you remember when this initially came up.
There with a lot of sympathy in the media for you religious freedom argument you know -- -- -- from college columnists like EJ -- -- typically an Obama supporter coming out and saying that.
Obama definitely over reached and that kind of created a situation where he.
-- -- campaign promise that he made to a lot of his Catholic supporters.
Then of course it was sort of the distraction and -- it sort of wandered off in the territory.
Sandra Fluke and the war on women but now it's coming back to the roots of this entire argument which is religious freedom and that.
You really gives a lot of the people who were really against a provision in the first place a second chance to really make their case to the media.
Picking up the war on women what was your impression of the -- -- campaign.
Uh huh that's a good question.
I think it was personally a little silly it looked like he Obama administrators are the Obama campaign was just kind of throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what would stick and they are trying a lot of new media techniques and that is one that I had just did not really seemed to.
Seem to stick to -- very well.
And on back to the contraception debate in these lawsuits not only by schools like Notre Dame but also the Archdiocese of New York.
-- imagine the media will be following it very closely.
How much do you think the media will stay or not say that it complicates.
President Obama's overhaul of health care.
Man -- and it you know it's like at the top of his wishlists the first thing that he he wanted to do as president.
You know do you Obama admitted campaign right now is in a situation where they need eighty topic is not on the unemployment they're good unfortunately.
Moving the conversation the health care is not much better.
So I think it's definitely going to be a main focus I don't think it's gonna really benefit the Obama campaign in the long run having.
This kind of scrutiny on legislation that quite a few Americans already think it's kind of you know -- addressed a form of government over reach.
I'm so the end of the day I think they'll probably try to shy away from this but.
You know they have make concessions they have gone out and they have tried to say that these institutions don't need to -- actually supplied these.
Forms of medication or sterilization in some cases and instead.
Can just simply refer.
So I think you're gonna really continue to move on that front in trying to show that this is kind of a softer kind layer plan and what they initially proposed.
And what we we covered this before and we've got some great comments which I'll read after we finished with Justin but.
Let me ask you guys to weigh in on this other a second topic that just and I I believe wanted to talk about and how the media's handling -- mechanism.
-- been a number of editorials in the last couple of days about Mitt Romney's religion.
And yesterday with the panel.
If it sounded like a good question to ask both candidates.
Is what are your religious beliefs and will it impact your decision on things not only on health care -- potentially on the economy what do you think.
There's no I think that that the Mormon thing was inevitable I don't know what went -- -- get played out in and it's full glory but it well whether that matters or not.
The voters I don't know do you think it does but -- I think what matters is.
It that I can't afford to fill up my my -- again I think that's what matters more to the average person in this country right now I think the price of peanut butter matters more.
Am -- religious beliefs.
-- -- Tiger -- it as.
Well we're kind of boring tonight and I.
-- found -- about -- right pat well I.
Alex out -- maybe some books that have some issues with it but there have issues with Barack -- parents that means that you're really religious evangelicals.
There are issues with Barack Obama had more problems with mornings and Jeremiah Wright I think that's an air -- -- -- -- again yeah that's I think you know.
He has the right at the time there keep them honest dissent there couldn't think it's going to back that way it happened I think most people believe that so.
Will be a little bit of an active maybe that any -- -- -- wash.
Santa yeah contrast how -- -- this will be an issue that will continue straight until November.
-- I think it will be an issue and unfortunately I don't think the media is going to really lead.
Kind of rushed to defense of religion like they would do if christianity or Judaism was.
Treated to similar kind of attacks like Mormon -- and has been throughout this campaign you know we saw.
Rick Perry's pastor when he introduced and really go after Mormon -- and just recently we saw Bill Maher who.
Has established himself now as a political player make sort of an ugly attack against the religion and we are just seeing silence from the you know media following.
What do you think that we are clear on what president Obama's religious beliefs are and how it might impact his own decision making.
-- -- -- question to ask him as well.
I think we -- clear at this point forward clear about the president's religious beliefs.
I think that's not really an issue that's what I -- it -- -- -- -- I'm not -- I believe President Obama is -- Christian.
-- I believe -- believe -- in the sermon on the mount I believe he believes and helping -- -- and helping the poor at the end of the day I.
I mean it's fair to raise up the Reverend -- question that's you know and -- -- line -- attack it will likely be taken out to his campaign but at the end of the day I think the president.
Is quite simply Christian.
Do you think that there will be people vowing that the media as they bring up or examine the Reverend Wright relationship for so many years may feel.
If he is in fact a Christian that he's an extremists.
-- I think at this point that was an argument.
That came out initially and 2008.
And I think at the end of the day most Americans.
Cut for gave Obama four.
You know attending this church -- believe that most Americans.
Stood by him when he.
Decided to denounces pastor and I.
Really don't think this is an argument that's really going to appeal or change anybody's minds if you already think Obama's an extremist.
A new ad featuring Reverend Wright isn't gonna.
You know change your mind -- isn't gonna make you more of an extra.
-- didn't they just didn't -- care I mean I think that what's really interesting about this race.
And you've just got to look at John Kerry didn't know that one bad story Wilson didn't hire you know impossible.
Want to check.
Out like this yes yeah that's what -- definitely look at the everybody.
That's not what I mean I don't -- Obama runs a great campaign made a great unless I'm running great on this and knows how to raise money has had a you.
Rally the troops -- doing a pretty darn good chance I'll and then take a look at the unity and social media.
Why -- hardly any number Jeremiah Wright at it's still a watched Aaron I really do a social media is not gonna be lost and I think you're Romney is so far behind a bomber and don't let me keep it.
That donations at least for April.
Were many more smaller donations for Mitt Romney then he has garnered in the past so he may be getting the hang of that.
Grass root -- So yeah I had it but if you look at you know when my magazines we -- social media score -- every month and if you look at the numbers he is.
He's not media -- Obama Obama reaches out to you.
Every place that you're comfortable in being here I already got -- edit just -- -- -- for about micro targeting they took part for Obama is it in which everybody makes fun of but.
If you are buying pet food and you go -- to you know you buy it.
That's dot com and easy barker Obama all -- like this guy he's got a thought I got a car that Michael party is a big thing and Obama down.
Only so much -- it's picked up -- -- governing in a bad economy and about to tell us and is also in your diet Italy's debt and Harry.
Well.
Definitely say that tested so nice to have you here thank you so my dear Jamie -- much more -- that media bias and and fact and fiction on what you're hearing reported all across the channels.
