-- dramatic web video by a group called Catholics called to witness.

It's what we're seeing about what we're witnessing in this political environment videos popping up.

Advocating on one side or another Catholics obviously.

Factoring in after 43 Catholic institutions filed lawsuits this week against the Obama administration.

Over the contraception mandate in the health care law -- by the HHS this.

As we told you earlier Gallup has new poll out showing that pro choice people who identify themselves as pro choice pro choice.

-- at the lowest percentage.

Since this poll was taken pro life.

At 50% pro choice of 41%.

There you see that.

We're back with the panel on this issue Steve.

How big a deal.

Is this the question we asked our text vote question is how big will social issues factor in to the election but on this Catholic.

Issue specifically.

-- How do you read it well that's the right distinctions make I think you know socialist you probably I would say not likely to have a huge impact.

You know writ large in the election in November.

On this issue with Catholic specifically in this question of religious liberty.

I think that it's possible that this -- -- a pretty significant impact if you look at the argument that Republicans have been making that the church is making these lawsuits.

It's fundamentally about religious -- about whether the government can compel.

The church to do things that go against the church teachings this is beyond contraception it's not the sort of micro issue.

That the press wasn't sex with when this.

Was first -- in six weeks ago it's a much bigger issue if Republicans can frame it that way I think this could have a significant impact particularly in those places.

Where Catholics make up much of the independent vote and -- crossover democratic vote in places like Ohio Pennsylvania Michigan.

What have you if this issue resonates in you can bet that -- between now and November since the church leadership has decided.

To pick this fight they've given up trying to be conciliatory they've decided we are now when you fight this you can bet that that the Catholic parishioners are gonna hear about this.

On Sunday -- it from from the pulpit.

Steve is right is the most active we've seen in the Catholic Church archbishop dole.

Really speaking out a lot about this in the number of church leaders are are very vocal on this.

And Steve has made the point that they tried to work with the administration and that and it fell on deaf ears and if they didn't.

They felt the negotiating went nowhere that they trying to think.

I can't I'm gonna say -- we.

What I've said before which is an unpopular position which is that I think that this galvanizes the voters on both sides it is a net wash out.

Catholics who are upset about a religious issue liberty issue arising from the -- chase HHS rags.

They came out months ago before.

We got into discussing where that whether there -- be an exemption or not.

Are still upset about they are not going to support Obama they're going to have to get in the car and enthusiastic -- it enthusiastically vote against him.

People who are the Catholic who thought that this was a not a big deal probably still feel the same way and I don't think non Catholic voters.

Are going to get excited about this I think they're excited.

The persuade a little ones among them laughed about the economy and this is not gonna move on and on the context of also that Gallup poll that shows pro choice numbers.

And pro life numbers roughly where they wore.

Does that give you a different perspective aware of the country I think from what we saw we if -- -- with the administration.

Jumping on this issue in February today are able to move their groups on their side very well -- held a lot of money on this.

And I think they'll do it again I just thinking man this is going to be just -- -- Elections coming -- but the constitution indoors and this is a hugely important constitutional issue of the substance of this is extremely important.

Alone -- liberties and our constitution the first in the First Amendment is a religion.

And the way if you're secularist and you believe in the leviathan state if you wanna constricted.

Is by restricting the definition of religion and that's what -- is all about.

Under the HHS regulation.

Religion is practiced only in -- church on Sundays essentially.

Towards you walk out the church -- you are not engage in religion even if you're -- Catholic hospital -- -- Catholic charity.

And that is a complete undermining of the idea of religion and religious to vocation.

And that's why these -- is he's being brought because if you are outside and who think protection on the First Amendment.

-- Catholic hospital or Catholic charity -- attend the state can dictate that you do anything it wants even if it's a violation of -- deepest doctrinal belief.

Our mention one thing and we're following up on this on -- story.

-- the week put thirty of these lawsuits mentioned this.

The religious freedom restoration act which was brought forward by then representative Charles Schumer.

Now senator Chuck Schumer from New York Democrat and the late Senator Ted Kennedy from Massachusetts brought forward in 1993.

To protect.

Religious exercise from laws that might unintentionally restricted.

Thirty of those losses mention that particular law.
