Of us.
-- spent time in the real world.
Know that the problem -- that the American people aren't productive but enough president.
Obama has decided to attack.
Success.
It's no wonder so many in his own supporters are calling him to stop this war.
On job creators.
And that is the debate that is raging behind the headlines in the campaign stops right now in this phase of the presidential election.
Who is Mitt Romney -- President Obama talking to donors in Denver.
About what he said was Mitt Romney's.
Textbook kind of understanding about the economy that he has not lived in the real world that he is some spoiled rich kid who likes to take stuff away from people.
And then you heard Mitt Romney saying wait a minute you're attacking success.
He was talking to the Latino coalition here in Washington yesterday.
And he's saying that Obama's calling on him to stop this war.
-- he's calling -- bump stop this war on job creators.
So which is it who is Mitt Romney and who will be seven or 8% of undecided voters in this country that are gonna get to decide this election think he's going to -- sure topless.
Who is going to continue to help us in this heavy lifting.
But I wanted to reintroduce you to share lending out shares a Republican strategist.
But the reason you're here with us today you worked with governor Romney on his book which is called no apology the case American -- and you work with him for a year it's a book and we know from what he said that he did this is you didn't just -- -- this.
He wrote this book and you helped him write it.
I did I let the -- of Iraq.
Are so.
Romney.
Is.
Decrying Obama's argument.
About Bain Capital and what he says its class warfare and attack on the job creators but I don't feel like people have gotten to know Mitt Romney very well yet.
It's greed is he in danger of getting defined as just some -- face.
Hopefully not -- I also want to go back to his record as governor there is a three billion dollar budget gap that he stopped he can close that gap.
He cut taxes seventeen times during his governorship he balanced the budget every year.
That's incredible record in Massachusetts.
Can vouch for he's 25 year.
-- this -- -- and the private sector turning around companies he is a good story to tell and that message I think you're gonna hear more and more.
And he could have been the first man on the moon and also come over the polio vaccine if people don't know -- -- it doesn't really make any difference and John Kerry I'm sure would have wanted people to know something very different about himself.
Other than that he wore -- lycra body suit and went windsurfing.
But early in campaigns people -- -- quickly right here.
Oh absolutely and I think this is what we're seeing right now and this is what the White House tried to do -- you could -- -- effectively was -- an early -- to find Romney as.
Many ways -- job killer because of his work with Bain Capital going in revamping these companies in many.
Times they lost jobs at other times they gained jobs to this is the Obama campaign strategy.
Until of course it backfired a little bit when you have someone like Cory Booker and other Democrats -- -- Rendell even.
Coming out in defending even a nuanced way.
What private equity firms do.
So and the question as we're saying here today is is it worth the cost for Obama.
-- to get some -- back now and bad -- out some folks -- like suburban Pittsburgh or suburban Columbus or suburban Philadelphia who are uncomfortable with attacks on.
Capitalistic activity.
It for the sake of labeling Romney.
-- -- -- Mitt Romney need to do and choose start defining himself because as much as people may know his name and what he looks like.
Most voters probably still couldn't tell you three data points about that round.
Yeah I think they -- we -- -- discuss this election about the economy we've seen pluck a comfortable so I think they get Romney campaigning governor himself has to go back and and spell out what his record is and be proud of it just me to drive home the fact that the -- four years.
Where the shovel ready jobs he's -- what what a wind turbine plant I would -- where the -- he's done a great job you know spending spending spending 787787.
Billion dollar.
Without this we got extra so that where the jobs and I think he -- keep to his record and keep pointing out the differences I've done this what have you done before.
-- -- you got pretty good today and on TV it don't count right I mean that's the truth is that the president has a cash advantage right now in the news in the swing states here.
And he's dropping this bomb on Romney everywhere he is in all of these key states dropping the Bain Capital bomb.
Right on his head and basically saying vampire vampire vampire.
If Romney is not up with a -- he has he's the running a series -- calling -- day one.
About what day one of the Romney administration would look like.
Is is it better for him to just try to look to the future or should he be doing biographical ads or something different.
I think there should.
A certain amount of biographical hat's going on right now I don't know if the Romney campaign is done necessarily an effective job at introducing him to the general electorate just general election rollout.
Was problematic few false -- -- to say.
But what did just basically run out of a burning building to be fair and it's got -- have a -- Yeah got a lot faster than expected good he was running he was looking for the exits he was right -- -- -- who's gonna get the nomination since March.
You can make that argument to look but if you look at the money that's actually being spent in -- states right.
Now -- by groups like crossroads are -- 25 million dollars and it's easy to over the course of the month and -- after running -- negative ads against the president they don't talk about Romney -- kind of voter sitting in southern Ohio watching -- television and trying to decide you gonna vote -- in the November election -- at least listening to my television -- -- a lot of negative Obama -- -- seeing -- press buzz about -- going on the -- about -- but I'm not -- necessarily a lot about -- Mitt Romney -- as a candidate.
Because those ads are not there yet.
All right so feisty chat today.
I I like.
-- I'd like but do not endorse the following from Greg do you know it the question that we're talking about yesterday comes back you could Bill Clinton -- Bill Clinton.
Win the democratic primary in an open primary today and he says it depends on how many other Democrat disbarred lawyers are running.
Move its funny game but we do we we officially larger disapproval of such mean -- And you're -- residency question.
Do the company's.
Like Bain.
That.
Or do companies like -- pick these companies on their owner to the companies come to -- and I I know a little bit about this -- I can tell you this.
Basically the way it works is when you have a company that's right for a and private equity move.
Everybody knows about it because like the old Kansas city bowl.
That do Obama campaigns made the video about they're about to explode and it's in the business section and people know about it and these are rescue guys -- -- now what ends up happening usually is.
There are multiple offers on the table that you have -- wants to do this somebody else wants to do that GE capital wants to do this.
And these people come and put offers on the table a negotiation takes place.
And then the current owners of the company come to an arrangement with the person that they prefer so it's a they're the shooters but in the end the marriage has to be mutual.
So so that's what that is all right serious -- just the question.
If you're -- On this stuff he has sort of laid back on the -- stuff he accuses the president of being mean to capitalism yes but what he hasn't done and I've heard an increasing call for Republicans this.
Go on the attack against Obama in the -- talking about it Smart Republican strategist to talk about it go on the attack against Obama was.
Failed efforts at venture capitalism at Solyndra and other things and say wait a minute not about me it's about you can keep successfully execute caddies read that -- I.
I think he can't I think he has to -- -- it.
Countdown on the deficit which is the first let's -- the stimulus packages the first thing the president did obamacare is the largest federal overreach package ever.
Continue -- nailed the drive does come yesterday thanks for the first time we see that plan the press governor -- coming out and saying you know I can get to 6% unemployment.
And laying out how he's going to get I think more -- the president and then continues driving home this is how I'm going to get to 6%.
And have a smartly and in an.
Reiterate like as you're saying.
Keep talking about nation defined himself defined this message.
I feel like repeated messages and that if you're going to get a lot of them for the next 23 weeks.
Ladies we thank you very much for being so obliging today and to you for being -- enough to watch us.
I would give Greg -- the last word he describes Obama's strategy as.
Throw that wall and see what sticks.
And lord knows that's true for almost every politician than when they -- -- -- -- you let them -- thrown it and we have to go --
