Fox News is America's election headquarters and I was reading recently about a race going on down in Arizona and I realize it's been about a year and a half.
Since we cover the tragedy with Gabby Giffords and and the people who were shot and killed.
Outside that grocery store in Tucson Arizona she survive still recovering the congresswoman.
But will not be.
Running for that seat again and so -- -- an open seat and Democrats vying to get that.
But there's that.
Yeah really good fight going on in that state and we have reached out to both candidates unfortunately.
One could not be with us we're still working on getting the Democrat candidate Ron -- about with us this morning as Jesse Kelly.
The Republican candidate for that open seat left open by Gabby Giffords.
Glad to have you this morning welcome.
Do appreciate the opportunity sure I was reading and what I'm curious about this race I mean outside of the fact that it it has been a Democrat seat.
Is that your.
You're dealing with some issues that now have become national issues.
And I'm curious to know Jesse what is it like to open a -- for this open seat in Arizona.
To be honest the people southern Arizona are just like the rest of the -- -- -- right now they want to talk about Charles gas prices the economy into debt.
These are the issues that are just crushing us out here -- drowning in this Obama economy and people want somebody who's gonna stand up against that.
You know it's in isn't stressing that we've heard.
Congresswoman Giffords talk about some of the issues having to deal with that the border and health care and whatnot if she really has been looked at is is not a moderate.
Perhaps as much as she is -- somebody who can bring people together on both sides of the aisle.
How well do you think that that message is coming gotten out and -- what does this -- been like so far.
The -- couldn't have been better for us at this point in time we stand firmly -- -- while form of lower taxes and getting the economy back.
I'm using our American energy to pay -- the deficit on securing our border and our hurt confident in victory as you know our special election is on June 12 is the actual Election Day is coming out quick here.
All right -- -- a little bit about the border here because and I'm curious to know where you fall just in terms of of the kind of buzz scuffle that has started between York State's governor and the president of the United States.
Well it's only become a scuffle because the president of the United States and the federal government as a whole must secure our border here -- -- have an obligation to do here in Arizona so our governor our state legislature they have to take steps to protect us because right now it costs our state.
Three billion dollars a year to educate incarcerated hospitalized illegal immigrants.
We must build all their border fence Cyrano reporting unit -- I get back to congress.
You know I have to say -- and I hope you'll say this with the the kind hearted -- spirit with which it's offered do what kind of young.
-- any feedback about that on the campaign trail.
Actually everybody should see you my wife is aren't put to machine because you isn't -- better.
And never every time you while we're we're sorry that many people think she's my daughters and -- I actually feels good here that are you know.
I love them.
All right before I let you go and I want to mention that -- your opponent Ron barber someone that we are working to get on the program fair and balanced team.
-- campaign said he's not available for today.
-- but we're trying very hard to get -- next week.
Talk a little bit about.
That district and and just maybe some of the outpouring for Gabby Giffords because -- I want people understand that this is also a special situation.
Given the fact that of what's happened there in Tucson.
But yeah no corn re -- -- the outpouring of people clamoring for jobs.
That's really yell or we've seen people come up to me all the time now tell me how much the last gallon of gas they -- or laws.
They tell you can't afford to drive their children to school.
So we -- everybody you know under present focus on the issues but we -- Jesse Kelly dot com people wanna see about positions but that's the outpouring we've seen them here.
All right.
Jesse Kelly who is running for the congressional seed of -- real difference in Arizona.
And that we hope to see you again we're gonna bring -- like I said Ron barber and what would really be fun is to have you guys on the same time will work to make that happen as well.
Good -- have -- love that big unit but by.
