It is fleet week it is huge here on the East Coast.

As I'm in charge would facility container and expose a little supervision programs basically we inspect facilities for safety and security okay why.

Is that daylight -- that and civilian vessels it could be cruise ship it could be container vessel it could be -- Oil tanker.
The facilities that received those vessels have to be inspected by our inspectors and also.
We have personnel -- goes out and and -- vessels for safety and security aren't.

I joined after 9/11 I lost a lot of friends I worked actually at Times Square at a time and my husband I was away at the well trade -- Saddam what do they need it seems like Korea cash and not doing a service that was.

And when the towers hit we were waiting for the market till then on the stock markets open.
And and we thought we were watching.

We anybody -- my husband work downtown so I called.
The trading floor and there was -- Phone lines that worked at that time we needed outside he called me from.
Across the street.
The World Trade Center and said that he was okay.
But you know a lot of heat related Mac and now you're here in the financial community both you and your husband yes we lost a lot of friends.
And -- up in the towers having meetings.
So you left your cushy job at Morgan Stanley and decided to put on the and a firm to defend your country what is everybody -- I think -- really love it they think.
And I'm the only female on the family and it's in the service so they think it's a big deal of can -- -- -- -- we're so proud of you -- Motivated shooting John Kerry were you already in the Coast Guard.
-- I was a teacher before -- joined.
Coast Guard.
I was more into the law enforcement side of the house so bomb I wanted to do drug interdiction I saw the effects of that schools I was teaching.
So that that's what motivated me.
These are kids who were struggling with drug addiction and you're gonna -- -- you weren't year -- The -- -- -- we're not gonna just stand idly by you decide as you're gonna do something about it so.
How many times have you interjected drugs -- smugglers.
I'm.
I was at some stations and and unfortunately -- they're -- main thing we did it was.
Lawful and it wasn't northwest was search and rescue but I enjoy decision rescue mission I did it for around eight years.
All right so where -- on the USS lives.
Somebody falls into the Hudson River what happens then.
Well Tom -- -- got after us our alarm -- go off him at the station we have a local station and that we'll have a crew ready to go out jump on the boats.
And -- this way.
And actually try and find the person.
Ask you to wrap -- you have both worked with young people.
What message do you have to any young person or -- mother or father every young person is watching today.
Well but basically if if they're interested in in in that in particular under their their country it's a good option I mean and maybe the Coast Guard.
It -- it's a good base they can come into the the Coast Guard the navy Marine Corps.
Powerful for years and -- get an education afterwards it's it's it's not only.
Fulfilling from a point of view of getting an education but it provides some experience some more experience.
So for someone who doesn't have any life skills to go get a job and a civilian academy they can learn something -- -- -- -- in the military.
It's right down and it in my particular case that I have two whose specialties because I -- -- and -- right and ought to drive votes and and an -- summaries are technicians I've learned about.
Pollution investigations.
Our inspections -- that are it's it's pretty interesting.
As a much more exciting -- -- just fit in a classroom right that's right much better OK so you've given up his eyes that are really cushy job on Wall Street.

How do you get to to give house my mom and all the rest of the things that most women try to outwit and also to be in the emirate in the military.
You think you -- Every other day how do you -- night.
And the -- and we have we call our uncles our family -- -- help each other early in times of deployment.
When we're not around.
