We're gonna go and out of Miami we had Dave -- talent before we're gonna bring him back talk a little bit about cyber security especially a couple of pretty interesting.
Stories have come out the last couple of days including the al-Qaeda al-Qaeda video that basically is encouraging followers to -- The United States and our allies -- -- they join us from Miami.

You don't it's interesting because we've heard all about -- stories these -- the Los Angeles bureau for five times on this topic over the course of the last five years.
And the threat continues to to be that you know al-Qaeda and other people -- other countries and of course we might be somewhat friendly with.
Are really kind of out to get us in some respects you have the infrastructure that so much of that is connected to the Internet.
You've got of course all of our a lot of secrets are on our on line as well as a lot of our companies and in this in this or corporations in this country to do business online.
When you heard about this latest threat capture it wasn't a surprise was it.
Well on the surprised but I thought I was also.
Fairly amusing that what you saw them doing was posting.
Little clips from various other news articles.
Where actual luminaries in the security field or people on the American policy field have said that in fact this is a big risk that someone could go do this so.
What they're really doing is quoting sort of the alarm.
And saying hey it looks like they're scared -- this may we should actually try to get a -- Is -- we're going to do it you know anonymous of courses has made some inroads some would say -- of course others would say that there is a criminal organization.
Tom has that had any effect on this has -- done anything to maybe encourage al-Qaeda to push this.
This type of attack on the US or attempted attack on the US.
I think you're exactly right obviously they see that kind of a fact in the news press releases I mean.
Terrorism is that some level about getting press so when they see anonymous very easily and quickly getting just a little bit -- press.
You know or maybe even and quite a bit -- -- they're saying hey we can do that too.
Maybe we can do a better because where you know hiding in a place where we are also physically secure we cannot be arrested.
So there's definitely an -- enough.
We think it's easy to do we think it will be sort of very beneficial to our terrorist cause -- do.
And we've seen -- Americans say that they're actually scared of this therefore let's invest some time and energy and it.
But it was -- call help please help us do this than any sort playbook there wasn't anything and -- You saw -- say hey here the sites you need to attack was very much just like right.
Let's go do it.
Parents and how much damage could they do -- mean you've you've got a lot of the elements of al-Qaeda in in locations where may be.
Computer usage isn't that the fastest.
And maybe the the -- technology in the area may not be the best.
But having said how much -- can they do.
I would say -- it.
That it's.
It's very unlikely they could do the kinds of things that people are really worried about at the national level so when you hear Mike McConnell talk earned a director Bennett -- talk.
Really what they're saying is a near -- like China or Russia or -- one of them one of the bigger other players like I -- I ran as the big one that they're they're kind of saying has the capability and the desire to do something like this.
When you're looking at a group like al-Qaeda it's much more -- eighty.
You know a show of force if they think al-Qaeda may have the ability to.
-- few systems and do things on the anonymous level with this fairly low so they're not I don't think as worried about al-Qaeda.
You know bringing down your power grid.
But they they're going to definitely be using that in order to get the money to fix the power grid.
To protect themselves against I ran.
Right now and you you advise companies of course have been with the NSA before and and have been -- obviously involved has for a long time mean a week we also know that the USA is kind of doing their own countermeasures right.
Well you certainly saw the news articles come out today I -- -- on Fox's web -- morning about.
The right Yemeni website bit Hillary Clinton was talking about in Tampa.
And of the initial news reports said that of course the United States -- hacked into the website and change the propaganda ads but it turns out in fact that we did was buy more ads which is a much better use of resources.
Although a bit less flashy for for -- news.
That this sort of things that you don't really hear about are people doing Covert operations sort of and the offense of information stuff.
Because they're just not going to tell you about that sort of thing except in very.
Sort of subtle ways I mean you'll hear right the extracted get a say Michael Hayden talk a little about it.
But you're not gonna hear direct report -- -- -- the following things and therefore was useful.
We'll -- industry was looking the student from maybe three different areas of this you have of course our personal -- me and people worker at the office people watching at home.
Our personal security safety on our own you know tablets and laptops.
Phones that kind of thing he got corporate.
And how do you balance that with federal regulations no -- -- the so many corporations that.
They are tied the government or to zero tied to our economy and in the third one of course would be -- government itself.
I think that -- sectors really the area that we really kind of unknown obviously the personal sector we all know the threat throughout the for -- just their own backyard.
I think we also know what the at the federal level.
But that middle sector of how do you balance corporate security.
And the federal government being involved in the fact -- have outside influences trying to treated to break into that didn't break into these locations.
Where exactly right and of course the bad game really has moved to the senate on this and you see this cyber security act -- 2012 vs the secure.
Act that that John McCain is trying to push and they're really has the has been -- sort of longer -- there John McCain has said.
What's the point -- even passing these bills -- we don't think they're going to work.
And senator Rottweiler and his very much was the opponent so I'll probably be reasoned so the failed was because he stood up against that.
Has said that he's not in favor of changing the way privacy law works constitutionally.
Through any these bills and so what you see is.
Very much you know even though the house managed to pass a bill the senate is definitely drawing the line and there's two very different asides.
Not -- one of them really willing to budge.
And night I would not say that anything significance going to pass through the -- you know in this legislative session probably not till after the election.
And that maybe shame or -- a good thing depending on your perspective.
Right now for people home who maybe aren't as involved as you are I am and follow the stuff -- much show what can -- do to with something maybe security thing this week you might have that can help them.
Battle any kind of you know hacking situation whether it be from somebody local or something more -- is sinister.
What's that and the sickening as what do you see coming up in the in the coming weeks.
On on a larger scale.

And no doubt your browser in this over the Internet and that the -- the first thing you could do to help secure yourself as download chrome and -- that because that is probably the more secure browser you're on a Mac or you're on.
PC running Internet Explorer at the office you know you could ask your your IT department to get you Google's Chrome browser which is just slightly more secure.
And just put a lot of work into -- it's new -- it's got sort of a better engine.
