The eyes of the nation are Wisconsin and the recall election is not just a big deal in the badger state you'll pack a punch across the country.

So how all the results feel voter sentiment in November's presidential election Dick Morris joins us he's the author of the new book scrutinized to talk to -- Good to be here Greta good to be -- native land for you got chrome that your.

Indeed it is -- -- find -- way to watch what goes on in that state I out according to a question of how what the big pictures I'm curious just in terms of the money there's always outside money in all these contests.

But I'm curious is he outside money flowing into the democratic Canada and Republican candidate.

Profile only bigger then or even less than the new show racist like that's.

Much much much bigger this is Armageddon and both sides understand it.

I think that the race is important on four different levels -- -- bear -- First is obviously I think it's a precursor of the national election.

Wisconsin is very democratic state.

That went Republican in twenty -- Obama carried it in 28.

And if walker wins by a good margin or even if he wins.

I think that'll send a big signal to the rest of the country.

That Obama is in trouble walker loses I think it'll energize the Democrats and send the signal that they can.

Win it's just like in the old days mean used to vote before the rest of the country and with the Bellwether it now Wisconsin in this race.

But there are three of the levels I think that this will determine the fate of education reform throughout the country if walker survives -- you will see.

Limits on teacher tenure and merit pay for teachers.

And much more flexibility from union control.

In all of the 49 of the states and he loses they'll drop dead.

I think the third thing is that it will free state and local governments from controlled by the union.

But if they lose some workers were called a big boost for the state and local workers unions.

And finally it has a direct financial impact because part of the -- reforms.

Said that workers can choose on their own web that a pay union dues or not rather than have them automatically deducted that catches on nationwide.

It'll really limit the power of the unions to bolster the Democratic Party.

-- and you know right now a majority of the workers -- of the unionized workers in America.

Our public employees 40%.

Of state local workers belong to unions only 7% of the private sector -- So this is kinda like the -- could strike the air traffic controller strike.

We Reagan faced down private sector unions and it's absolutely crucial race for both sides.

We say that if -- album winds five if you would Governor Walker wins so that's a precursor for what's gonna have -- Wisconsin come November.

I guess similar bit suspicious that -- wins by two points.

And that still what I'll do -- so energized the Democrats is still within reach and that they will then the -- really crank it up and work really hard between June 5 and the election.

And I think that in order for him to serve tell the Democrats near the -- gonna go to Republican and hold Democrats and how he's gonna win west sizable margin.

Well.

Any -- important because you know one vote determines how the State's Electoral College votes go.

But if you made a list of swing states.

And say you started with the most Republican of them which would probably -- Florida.

And then you went through -- -- -- -- then you went to the most Democrat of the swing states probably Virginia.

Wisconsin would be next it wouldn't even -- on that list.

So if Wisconsin.

Goes Democrat in this pivotal contest at the top of the -- because Republican.

In this pivotal contest even by appointed chair.

It really org -- it's bad stuff for Obama and then you combine it -- with the dismal performance he had in the Arkansas and Kentucky primaries where he got.

-- over 40% of the democratic voters in those states voted for uncommitted or some non entity rather than for their own president.

Well there's been so -- Democratic Party.

And President Obama won in 2008 by twelve or fourteen points and this being within the margin air right now why isn't president Bob why -- call the president -- led the mayor of Milwaukee -- it -- help me do a little politic with me.

Because the mayor of Milwaukee doesn't want it because he doesn't want Obama's negatives and Obama doesn't want it because he doesn't -- lost.

But to be attributable to him and it would be if -- -- -- campaign but everybody knows that this is.

Front and center not just about the presidential election.

When you look at the fact that state and local governments spend.

Huge amounts of their budget probably a third of it on education.

And that that is tightly controlled by the unions and this -- three that control.

This is absolutely pivotal we've tried everything in education reform dumping in more money higher standards all kinds of stuff.

The only thing that really works is freeing them of the union controlling giving people -- -- -- to way to send their children.

And that's what's it on the state that's what -- states right now.
