And maybe we can talk more about how the media is treating.
All of the can't it's not only the two candidates right now that were mostly talking about obviously with the president and Romney but -- candidates as well that sort of compare.
I mean we can compare I had in the bias -- spirit take the way they covered Mitt Romney and for me John Kerry in 2004 yes.
And and Mitt Romney 2012 and the media creatures -- -- as we figured it out and calculated that the -- the mainstream media have done thirteen times more coverage.
Mitt Romney's wealth.
And John Kerry's and is as Brian Williams who probably himself not for them said Mitt -- as well as well unimaginable well.
John Kerry has about ten times as much money is Romney does and that wasn't unimaginable.
Eight years ago and I think that's -- that's pretty biased.
And I think there's nothing wrong with having -- -- FDR had about JFK -- well.
No president has been more let's let's be honest here I mean every president.
And I don't think it's possible for them not to get into the White House about having money these days at least the athlete in the past -- grant became -- -- dropping it in current yeah current terms.
I mean I think that the issue -- Romney is that he's made his business career and his alleged job creation in the heart of this campaign.
So I think it's only fair to examine how did -- get this well from what what was his performance like.
And he he has brought it up himself I think you look at the past presidents I.
Over the past candidates at least I mean.
Surely there could be some by as Iowa I wouldn't deny that.
Because Romney has made his business performance the part of his campaign I think it's only fair -- -- I I don't dispute that I think is probably fair to look at everything being capitalism however that -- -- knew what the media sees you jumping on in contrast to Kerry is how he made how much money -- -- as an aggregate how many houses he has Ottawa and they where I mean look who knows what.
How Heinz -- did the pastor frankly what the Kerry family did -- the last hundred years to make them an imminent.
What we don't know there's there's no -- it always always always me right now as of how much money Romney has.
And in contrast to carry.
And I think that just shows again.
It was -- it was a given that Kerry Wood rationing care about it too given that Romney admission that you hear about it and that beat me it didn't method is a different as a second -- -- -- -- that.
But I'm sure that it releases -- -- this -- That that seemed to provoke a lot of coverage.
With them and I don't understand military course Kerry believes is some in his -- show about the same percentage of income tax.
Nobody -- -- in the fact that.
That Romney won't release them.
I don't think over Iraq so Kerry never released his wife's tax cuts for the money is -- -- he -- clearly living off of that would improve the living off her.
And silver you think her money would be an issue and she said of course I'm not I'm not I can raise American release my tax returns and the -- okay fine whatever reasons here.
Yeah John -- from January to April 2004 ABC and CBS.
Evening news shows only mention carries while -- NBC didn't mention that carries finances.
Or his wife's well at all.
Which I mean we always talk about the well.
Mostly though it does seem that we only really focus on the -- of the Republicans for some reason is -- only because of their position on taxes.
I think part of -- passively I mean that there could be disparity won't.
You know or you're gonna -- well look but remember that point very different bargaining on there as well but think about that -- -- -- personal.
-- didn't get it.
On the show there is I mean you you well that's kind of change though -- the -- 1% -- 99% that was an even in the popular lexicon for years ago and now it's it's the biggest thing we're talking about.
So the fact that he is so critical for us to talk so much about one one candidates wealth and not the other just because you're a Republican and the other -- a Democrat others -- a country that clearly had a ton of money and his wife that he -- and I clarity and when he put his house up for mortgage in his campaign that was discussed in the millions for it from that.
And in his wealth was discussed a lot.
But it look at that on the site -- as -- study and closing thirteen times more there's thirteen times more coverage given 22.
Two Mitt Romney's well they would probably just reeks of them you look at the -- -- he always feeling that you.
He looks like he is mr.
1% of you give -- Casting we want better -- -- -- awesome all right.
I listen I think -- -- you're carrying a bitter.
So I didn't want to add an extra look at where it landed those you know 400 dollar haircut got -- And now I think he goes to I think cuts.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- And -- doesn't really look that much different but that's beside the point.
So I mean so I guess it in me and I mean is well going to -- -- huge factor in this election I mean we were just talking about the fact that when it.
Mitt Romney and -- -- poor neighborhood he's not well received -- I guess that's up a poor.
And what a bunch of black neighborhood men think he -- to -- for appellation neighborhood -- Have on the shoulders to see these in his in his states like West Virginia and and it's Kentucky and our Qatar where you know.
Prisoners are beating -- nearly beating -- the primary shows you how.
I'm partners look.
I think that the big issue here is going to be the economy and -- and the Obama campaign is gonna try and go negative on that's why they use.
-- -- by talking -- -- mentioning around me by name and pounding winds is only Memorial Day and their poverty act are trying to.
I think it shows that the Obama campaign realizes his weakness on economic performance and therefore trying to shift the argument to.
Romney and -- patients capital that's a great point.
And it is is the Obama camp I -- is Obama's campaign.
Seeing desperate and that their economic record isn't that great -- economic record ever for our people I can't let it get remember -- the final so final month of the Bush Administration we lost 741000.
Jobs -- that trend that continued we get 27% unemployment.
That's very hard to make the argument that we -- been and it could tap a catastrophic situation and Great Depression it's a nuanced argument to make but -- happens to be the truth.
Demi we were falling off a -- So is eight point 1% unemployment is that -- -- that's too -- But is it significantly better that would have been under president McCain route or you know when bush had -- I continue to spend their -- -- -- President Obama has come out and attacks.
And called him essentially an out of touch -- Democrat -- of his prescriptions for the economy would reverse the fragile game the last couple of years and I -- -- quote.
Someone on the Obama campaign who basically said that there may be value in that kind of experience but it's not in the White House mr.
Obama told supporters at the -- -- -- on Thursday -- that he used to.
That he used this setting to -- that Romney.
About a controversial comment he made here during the primaries and I want to quote the world.
View that governor Romney gain in private finance he said explains why the laughs when he visited these very same they have fairgrounds he.
Famously declared that corporations are people so they're trying to say that Mitt Romney is out of touch.
How -- convinced that the war neighborhood that he is now starting to visit that he's not out.
I'll give you one example and that is the Keystone Pipeline.
-- some 520000 jobs right away.
And it's a larger signal that we wanted to develop energy in North America and so on and and then there's a lot of other shale oil places all over America.
That's the Obama EPA is busy trying to crush and including -- well.
And so there's real jobs for real people.
I read somewhere in the lead in the starting salary from oilfield worker in taxes including where they go from in Wyoming and Alaska overalls and North Dakota is 60000 dollars.
That's pretty good for somebody coming out as with a -- to execute -- now -- your job and President Obama and his EPA's seem to be against.
The growth of those jobs in -- brownies for which he is I think he's got a pretty good argument lot of places.
Well I mean that they have a keystone has -- -- -- brought up again and again and again but there is a reasonably if we care about the environment.
We actually care about the potential for for what that could you do it.
Look everyone wants more jobs and we could -- You know pay people to go out litter as well that would create jobs that would be terrible for the environment.
And I think it is a judgment was made that that was true keystone as well I think Romney's problem is.
His prescription for the economy is it's in the same old song it's more tax cuts for those who wealthier and it actually increases the deficit.
Unless you buy this magical.
Spurred the economy and -- -- To the this doesn't work back off on the whole tax cut extension policy I mean it you know President Obama did extend the bush era tax cuts even reluctantly because he swore he wouldn't have been changed -- that.
Whatever president goes into office is going to have to deal with that.
I think Democrats are backing -- their tax increase files I mean that the look at -- look at the last few days if different from the two tax would be -- making over 250 to the taxpayers over a million.
And -- they're realizing that it like a soft economy.
You don't raise taxes.
Well you -- -- that wants it I mean the best thing we can do.
Would be to not raise taxes immediately.
Let's set it up so that two or three years down the line attack the long term right -- the name mean in the meanwhile though that the talking point Buffett rule -- while the last few months has evaporated because -- realizing that they can't raised in the short run and what -- what two years now who knows but right with the election is six months away.
In -- in six months from now nobody's been talking marry an accident anybody I guarantee it and both sides well I act I disagree and I think we're gonna see a lot.
The buffet rule examples attacks attacks.
Tax loopholes for corporate jet owners and things have to strike most Americans is fundamentally it's -- Corporate jet owners you know I mean and anatomy and yeah -- -- it is -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- however believe -- It from a -- economic point of view that if we get the bush tax as a -- we keep the room rates low and nobody will care about what they do a corporate -- and if you get owners alone nobody at -- it -- anyone out there -- -- wants to rest this reelection campaign helps on the on the evening.
Corporate jet mechanics unemployed like to do with the book tax you know twenty years ago OK -- -- by corporate jets that they didn't have that axle and edit it.
It it just it isn't that the Republican leadership can't even agree I think -- and corporate yet loopholes.
It it's just it's my problem is there any kind of rhetoric whatsoever of the Republican leadership that it wouldn't.
I think to be honest probably -- In terms of -- of the way to -- -- the Grover -- tax -- is -- they're -- -- what's -- look look look look look -- -- look at the way that the public schools operate.
Who can look at the way the general services that that was the way the Pentagon operates and Nazi -- perhaps.
Well there's certainly room for -- inspection -- the considering how much we spend compared to the rest of the world.
But -- is there waste of course but the fact that the Republicans running for president couldn't even agree on a ten to one ratio.
-- cuts to that it.
Tax increases associated -- -- -- the Ronald Reagan couldn't be you Republican if it I think the history of all those tax deals is and never kept I was around for two of have the Reagan tax deal of 82 in the bush tax deal of ninety.
And in both cases that deals and whenever -- adhered to the so.
Video I'd much prefer to take take -- -- when you don't make it nine -- -- attend one.
That might that might happen probably wouldn't frankly a bit of my enemy you noticed even all these deals are -- what you might you've seen in the -- austerity package to shift -- you're slightly.
We -- read the financed candidate.
That the that the banks -- -- of meets another hundred billion euros like 10030 billion dollars I think that they're telling anybody -- it was a disaster okay.
They as it just means that none of these deals are kept and to their for the all you can do is starve the beast.
And keep them getting more money.
I have a couple comments on our live chat -- I want to throw out here Charles Reese writes the Democrats hold a wide margin of a double standard when it comes to talking about well especially among Republicans.
It's also as -- they are jealous of anyone else's wealthy and they are the only ones can be rich.
Before you comment -- Carter.
As I recall John Kerry attempted to avoid the Massachusetts tax on his multi million dollar boat from New Zealand media silenced by the way doesn't Massachusetts have a boat industry.
I guess not confident here.
Well look I would love to be rich for my jealous of people -- tons of money out of course I would look the more money the better I would love to have it but.
You know when you get to someone like Mitt Romney he's got Swiss bank accounts he's got -- And he things that the average American just can't relate to of course is what was to come up with a big part of -- -- is well John Kerry.
Him and he and his wealth should -- come -- -- itself.
What he came up a lot I mean and certainly not nearly as much -- at the X and ABC had Weston actually denied any kind of liberal bias and it actually rationalize is the greater media focus on Romney's well.
And especially the way the west interview read if you read it saw the segment on Bill O'Reilly the question what David -- -- present ABC news hired for Stephanopoulos had people saying things like.
When when -- I would ask televised you said we quote quote we fought against it every day.
And they also said quote we made progress on coach is telling you waited beginning from -- BC and you know how how much you know they had and what.
Diane Sawyer -- I want.
World news every night that number motives uptick in the economy is the lead story and they're they're so in the tank.
Fourth world bombers it's it's it's not funny I am and again the theme that decision the issue that is the negative reader who wrote in about the yacht tax you know we were preparing is a great example all this little tax loopholes we're gonna close corporate jets and depth and -- -- it's certainly something out of a job that.
The Kerry shifting his -- from Massachusetts around if I remember right.
Cost somebody -- masters is America.
Well incidents that yes and it's -- -- have been topical landlocked country.
We got infected via -- senior that -- I've tried all my life to be -- almost fair that everybody else does too stupid to protect the right for being -- but it was a technically -- in rhetoric that we're going after his -- well I was having never were attacking those that are being unfair and biased by only attack by only focusing on one candidate that happens to be a Republican -- -- -- policy that is all -- so obviously husky media bias I mean flat out -- -- no other way to -- it to the look at what -- talk about.
Here is talking about raising the tax burden for the working class and lowering it for the upperclassmen that -- he so clearly in the tank of I'd love to raising taxes on the but that's how Romney raising taxes well look at his economic plan -- -- -- you raise taxes if she shifting because he's put to shift what what taxes on ordinary people's theories.
-- -- shifting the tax burden.
The lower -- -- some of that hey well.
Or I'm just glad yawning deficit I think that -- could I don't think I think actually beyond having the yawning deficit to better had a -- well the middle America.
A human deficit on her -- -- -- monthly -- Gregg -- and that's why under Clinton we actually balance the budget and under George W.
Bush we doubled again if Arnie isn't it really really obvious that Democrats are significantly better at handling the deficit.
Republicans this point.
Short answer -- There I have to wrap this up.
