The stories of sacrifice and service by America's troops are -- and we're highlighting several he -- on Fox News this weekend including.

Former navy seal Marcus Latrell who has been awarded both the navy cross and a purple heart for his role -- it 2005 seal mission that went horribly wrong in Afghanistan.

Marcus was the only number of his seal team to survive.

-- picked himself up re enlisted and was sent to ramadi Iraq.

Marcus has since retired his now father and husband of the new book out called service and navy seal at war.

Marcus joins us now live search first and I I think -- start by thanking you for your service in your willingness to share your stories as well so the rest of us can get a glimpse of what it's really like.

Yes -- and my pleasure thanks for having.

Well your first look at with a huge -- it told the story of what originally happened during that mission in Afghanistan I understand there's a movie in the works.

And your follow up look now I took it home and I think I told minister in the commercial break my husband picked it up and I've not been able to get my hands on -- cents.

He says it is a fantastic -- he shared a lot of it with me what he said was.

He thinks the pop -- probably a lot of people don't realize that after what you went through in Afghanistan you re in lest it why did you decide to go right back into the fight.

As my job you know always -- still and it I was pretty banged up it doesn't hospital for awhile get myself back together of in I had a lot of my teammates coming -- to me and especially my brother he was just -- -- -- we -- we got -- we got.

We lost that organizes like.

Yet to get back any got to get back in the fight got to go back over you know firefighters establish a fireman -- -- -- -- bad -- so with.

You know that kind of Italian and all those guys around me it was.

There's nothing else -- -- you know I just had to get back on it go back into it.

What is the message that you hope folks will get when they read the book and in here about you know what all of our soldiers who are serving overseas are going throw.

You know service kind of wears two hats wanted to kind of finishes -- and -- a lot of holes that were left open and lone survivor in the original book and and service overall.

Just it talks about -- they got that I served with them and and some of those scenarios that we are and and it puts the message that.

Services and disservice to your country in the military I mean a service to your community your family it's it's it to god you know and it just touches and gives examples on all that.

And and wraps it up -- kind of completes a circle so you know we did the best because it in and fill in the blanks and I think -- it really got it done that.

Well I want -- ask you as well at the lone survivor foundation that you have started what kind of work you're now able to do and reach out for your fellow Brothers and sisters in service.

They have the foundation kind of started on my own.

Experience you know I coming out hospitalized.

They sent me home to Texas to our ranch somebody got hold of me kind of fed -- gotten away from everything and and that's what we do with the laws of our foundation we bring people and we get them out a hostile environment.

And bring them out into the country.

To to the ranch you know and not by themselves -- they bring we bring their families with them as you can -- the -- you know you can work with him.

Over and over again if you send -- back to a family that.

That hasn't had any help that has been going through this same thing in the kind of just.

You know -- -- digress a fall back into where they were so we bring everybody out and work with them as a as a you know an entire family unit.

And it's doing great things you know it's I'm really proud of -- and all the people there helped me out and to get this thing done.
