Memorial Day is a really special time for for me and my Stanley.

Especially this year was -- -- something I knew a whole lot about in fact my birthday.

Is always around Memorial Day weekend so when I was -- I thought it was really cool to have this long weekend us holiday.

And certainly as I've gotten older and this has changed quite a bit and it change really because I met my husband's.

My husband graduated from Annapolis and went on to serve our country -- the -- the I'm both surface ships.

And with the navy seal teams as well and it was really early -- in our relationship.

-- -- -- -- When he brought me to -- Rosie trans national cemetery.

I -- a few of his his very good friends and his -- -- Are are buried Mark Lee is the first navy seal killed in Iraq who was awarded the silver star.

On my husband and mark were together when mark was killed they had been in -- fire fights together during that deployment.

And done.

And that that was obviously yet.

Very significant.

Day.

I'm Mike -- story is seen medal of honor recipient -- team made up my husband but as they learn from him when it comes to military survey as many you know.

-- there's very little division between friends and teammates and handling.

-- -- -- -- -- became very personal for really the first time in my life and the reality hit because my husband was -- deploying and the stakes became very real.

I think I met my husband and I we've lost two really good friends of ours one of them -- -- -- seal who was blinded by any sniper rounds.

He survived that.

He was blinded.

But he passed away.

-- -- following surgery that he had hacked repairs combat wounds I'm Brian bill.

I was in the helicopter.

Navy SEALs have a shot time in Afghanistan this past fall.

This is only a few weeks after my -- and I got married and Brian.

I'm being who he wise has figured out how to come to the wedding.

Despite being act against another deployment to Afghanistan so he was there for that advantage was with all of our friends that -- only a few weeks later.

I he passed away.

So this Memorial Day I'm really struck by the deep profound loss -- -- -- you know not only to my family.

And to our friend since you are friends families but just a -- -- the country overall.

It's so there's not even -- that can really describe these people will never be replaced their aspirations will never be mad and they died serving our country.

And we -- -- really -- Memorial Day is all about -- to honor these warriors and the many like them who gave their lives and you know.

Have a cold beer in their honor because knowing that and that is what they'd want to -- -- Maybe one you're explaining even one I iron then this holiday weekend about lettuce that has never again.
