-- we're just getting some reports crossing the wires of a bomb attack on an oil pipeline in Syria this is coming in from Syrian state television.
So we -- not independently confirm that has crossed some wire reports that moments ago.
So this is happening as the United Nations is set to hold yet another emergency meeting this week.
On Syria that follows the -- -- of more than a hundred people including dozens.
Of women and young children.
-- who were believed to have been killed executions -- -- most of these death did not come in bombing raids and that has sparked international outrage.
It is that we have been receiving over the months are really the only way that we have to tell the tale.
Of what is going on inside Syria right now and the White House has said that the US will not intervene militarily.
In this conflict.
Governor Mitt Romney says that he believes the Obama administration is -- to lead on this curious during his interview with bell.
Last weekend.
The world looks to America to lead.
And we've been sitting in the back burner hoping things would.
I've become arranged in a way that were that was that attracted to the world but frankly what's happening in Syria is unacceptable and at this point do you believe the administration has failed on that.
Well I think they continue with a posture of leading from behind.
Shot back to us democratic campaign manager and your ten taos is a daily news columnist both of course are co -- Of the five welcome IT ball that this is so in ordinary serious subject and something that a lot of people are very concerned about in this country right now.
Bob what's your take on on with the White House's stance on this and what Mitt Romney had to say about it.
Well first of -- this is a classic example an amateur and I don't know what he's talking about -- Romney says that there's not providing leadership.
Then the next question should be then what would you do specifically about it the idea of us getting involved.
Militarily in Syria will make Afghanistan look like an invasion of the grand -- I mean this is a complicated complex international situation the United States is doing things are doing sanctions they leading the fight in the UN but in the end.
The question is do we -- do -- not commit military resources.
-- Mitt Romney thinks that's a good idea frankly he's way out of his -- The feeling is at this point though five and Andrea that this is and game.
This side will not likely survive all of this and if he does he's gonna do with -- Military force that the likes of which the country probably hasn't seen yet Andrea here.
Here's the issue and this is so tough Martha because there are no good guys in this fight.
Bob is partially right and Mitt Romney is partially right.
But we do not want to commit troops I wholeheartedly agree with Bob it's a civil war we should not be -- rising.
Anything in that country however I do agree with Ann and Mitt Romney to be -- didn't say that we should.
He did say that we should provide arms to the rebels now there's dangers with that because the rebels.
Are islamists so we really -- -- -- armed rebels have ties to al-Qaeda but I do think Ronnie has a point and this is it.
That Obama needs to stand up and say and do more the reason we got involved in Libya was because there was a potential for genocide.
The genocide in Syria has happened -- 121000 people have been slaughtered the president cannot stand behind the -- he needs to put public.
Pressure and stand up and show pictures of the genocide.
Put pressure on Russia put pressure on China and he's failed to do that that you know the president really embraced Bob -- so many ways obviously.
The fall of Qaddafi and Libya and the fall of Mubarak in Egypt it feels as if the the outspoken in this and the leadership -- the White House during that phase of the Arab Spring was so much more forceful.
That what we're seeing now and what we're seeing now is absolutely terrific if we go back and -- -- the news clips of the.
The -- what happened in.
That -- whole area particularly in Libya when we.
The -- Obama was accused of leave them behind not being out front this ain't gonna talk I heard from Mitt Romney.
And the fact -- matter was United States did exactly the right thing and the outcome would on the what do you mentioned the country look like but at least.
Qaddafi was gone it is it -- -- Syria again is so much more complicated.
You've got a rainy elements in here you've got who are the bad guys who really good guys we don't know the answer -- over here is that's not hard to figure out.
How comforting is that to the family is on the ground it and there was and what are you gonna do -- I understand but I'm just saying you know AM if you watching this and you -- you -- -- reports of families that have been affected by this.
And and there are asking where is the United States of America and we we we haven't put an end it sounds like you are -- the senate can be at least a much more forceful voice from the -- -- -- a hundred -- -- -- -- 100% -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Middle -- -- -- So we have to do something we can't just sit silent all we've done thus -- besides some sanctions as we've expelled their topped at the diplomat in Washington DC the president is at the presidency to use God's hands but if everything that -- if President Obama said.
In his arguments.
For action in Libya is true that it should apply to Syria as well.
Tasted different so as you don't have Syria Russia and China behind -- he tried in both cases do that you know it's -- -- -- all the sit here and say this but for ten years we watched genocide in Darfur.
Did we -- the about it -- want to do we do anything about it no now maybe it's -- it was Africa frankly.
I think -- a lot to do with it but now -- sitting -- worried about the -- the fact the -- -- places that state that involves cells around the world where there's genocide everybody feels badly about it but -- gonna have much work for the first.
US troop goes down and then we're gonna start to ask yourself is it worth getting involved and -- -- Have I understand that -- and and China are allies but think about that we can't even put public pressure we put a lot of pressure but what we're together president really -- is no rush -- not Russia has had a decades long alliance was serious they're not gonna give that up because you can call my own deal and let me know right now is that -- -- I don't know -- and I -- Is it what is is -- -- -- got to do specifically somebody asked the question.
Specifically what are you gonna do Bob more public pressure we both again I don't military action and we both know there's -- with arming the rebels.
That is not what Romney running yeah.
I have done it.
All right -- -- club but not -- -- an area we are on the brink of the fourth UN discussion basically.
And they have been completely ineffective in doing anything in this situation is that something new that about it.
You know exactly precisely and well -- it.
Let's say what is the ultimate answer that its use force is that -- -- use force it does have the guts to say so you can bet this is going to be.
You know part of the discussion we had engine debate is of all of this about how how this is handles -- -- that discussion won't end here and we'll see guys tonight talking more about it no doubt.
That's -- things are very much and -- seven hour.
