-- can't own with dog and -- buzz good morning NT guys.
Let's talk about this birther issue a little bit more because governor Romney is.
It in some senses and anyway some fun and saying he really is having to be on the defensive so.
And us -- what do you think he needs to be doing in order to distance himself or is that even necessary because a lot of those birthers.
Do you support governor Romney.
I don't really think he's gonna have to say more than he's RD sat here if you look at Donald Trump.
He knows how to manipulate the media he knows how to get headlines he knows how to push soundbites out there that I have him.
His name in the evening news is I think that's what we've seen him do the past couple days is just really work -- so he can keep his name out there and lights.
I think it's a side issue that I think most people move along.
Probably in the next day.
-- I just didn't you know I just don't I mean take a messier I was a very Smart Republican strategists why wouldn't Mitt Romney.
Hold an event with someone who you know is gonna go out on TV -- question the president's birthplace and -- and an Internet rumor that has been debunked.
The day you're gonna win and win the Republican nomination I just don't get it I think that we've seen these missteps along the way by the Romney campaign.
And I don't think it is gonna go away because Mitt Romney.
-- his chief surrogate seems to be.
Donald Trump right now he's -- -- he goes around with them.
-- pretty frequently he relies on his advice.
Donald Trump does robo calls forum he does fund raisers so I don't think it is gonna go away and I think Mitt Romney really need to take a stronger stance on this issue then yes.
NIC you know hey there is a bit of truth and into what Doug is saying in that you know yesterday was a pretty important day for governor Romney and -- did he decide to spend his -- Well I think what's about bigger question here is where did he decide to spend his time.
He was in Nevada Nevada is going to be a swing state this election is going to be critical to -- the next president United States has.
And you know Barack Obama when he was early in his administration he -- -- mocks people going to Las Vegas and I think of the people in the citizens in the voters of Nevada remember that.
And that's why Mitt Romney was there yesterday as he clinched the Republican nomination now.
I think we can -- -- on here and try to predict what Donald Trump's gonna do next but none of us know that so who knows where is going to be tomorrow but I think.
The strategic play was to be in Nevada.
And that's the problem now that the problem for the Romney campaigns is is that trump is so unpredictable and now being so closely tied to him.
They own whatever he sets and that's their fault.
I might have on to another topic -- -- -- we've talked quite a bit about this.
I wanna talk a little bit about that -- governor Mitt Romney getting that GOP nomination this is this is a benchmark in history for the Mormon faith and we really aren't hearing a whole lot about it some pundits saying -- that's exactly what that church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints wants and it's exactly what the governor wants.
Why -- why is this that what we're starting to see play out and us.
I think you know the Romney campaign wants to make this election about the economy and the future of America -- a a bigger personal religious conversation.
You know if you look back the past couple of years -- been a great time to be an American we had Hillary Clinton who was almost the first you know female nominee had the first African American president.
They have the first Bob Mormon religious group getting the nomination for the Republican Party you know I think it really says a lot about our country.
As to where we look for leadership in different parts in different background.
It's and it what do you make of this debt because a spokesperson for the -- said the church is neutrality and political campaigning as well established.
And we won't be making any statement today is this a Smart move the church to be doing this -- Why would support what.
Amos that I you know look -- is the fact that you know pay a Mormon candidate can become the nominee and we have an African American president Hillary Clinton was.
Couple votes away from being the democratic nominee -- Sarah Palin shows just how great this country is.
And and and I think we should never forget that I as far as the church -- -- I don't really understand their politics.
All that much but I do understand that they like to fly a little bit below the radar because -- there is a portion of this country that.
Has some misgivings about the Mormon religion and and yeah that's unfortunate but I think the day you would probably not want to shine a spotlight on them and -- kind of you know the spotlight shine on Mitt Romney who during this moment when you you know accumulates enough delegates to be the nominee.
Yeah some would say to that it doesn't matter what your sex isn't what's your sexual orientation is what your religion is.
Are what your racing is just matters that it is your record and of course that's one thing.
-- that that Mitt Romney is really -- -- be hammering home is is you know.
The jobless numbers and and everything else the presence tracker.
Absolutely I think I think -- I think we can figure this out -- we should have is the church is PR team called Donald Trump's PR team and they should all get on the same page.
Everybody fly below the radar certainly have a serious debate about jobs -- the economy I think we just solved it this morning he picked it depend.
That -- be a wise move for the Romney campaign to look at.
But let's move on to Syria.
Just a real tragedy over the weekend with about a hundred civilians many of them children.
Dying -- and it's really though bride foreign policy to the forefront.
Once again and given governor Romney an opportunity today it says say that President Obama this week.
What do you what do you make about of all this Amos and Andy think that this is something that's going to be -- Errors everybody just really thinking about the economy right now.
Well I think if you -- look at what happened in Syria this was a tragedy -- there were young children taken out and murdered one by one by the government.
This is not a partisan issue this is more about society as a whole if we're gonna stand on the sideline and just watch this happen so I think.
You're the person who has an opportunity to act right now is the person is sitting in the Oval Office and that's Barack Obama so it would be great.
-- our country I think the international community to hear some real leadership and some steps that the US could take that NATO could take that the UN could take.
Two to solve this situation because this shouldn't happen on our watch.
And governor Romney bashing President Obama saying.
Bellamy have this -- quoted a policy of paralysis -- Syria which is -- president Bashar Al -- to slaughtered 101000.
Individuals how do you expect the Obama campaign to be lashing back.
I mean Mitt Romney at every opportunity tries to you know.
You know it to.
-- -- to give tough tough talk.
But with no real coherent strategy.
His idea his plan on Iraq is basically for us to stay there he gets an incoherent planned for.
Afghanistan and on Syria he didn't lay out any ideas he doesn't he hasn't said whether or not he supports airstrikes as John McCain.
And Lindsay Graham do he hasn't said whether or not he would support arming the opposition.
He just use this as a political opportunity go out there and and give tough talk but we've seen over the course of his.
Career that he's been wrong on so many different foreign policy and national security issues and it's because.
He has some he has as far as Republican nominee is go he is the -- he has the fewest amount of experience.
That we've seen in years he has no foreign policy experience he didn't serve in the military -- has no national security experience.
And that's all -- I think you know we have a debate about foreign policy that's gonna become very very obvious.
As we look toward the general election Amos what do you think this is is gonna mean -- that Romney campaign I mean.
If he is viewed as as weak by some.
And that area -- to -- need to be surrounded himself wet mainly for the vice presidential.
Talk to note sure what what.
I think we've seen him in the past few days he's been he didn't event with Senator McCain and not -- senator Lindsey Graham as it is Doug alluded to.
But this is really not about Mitt Romney is a candidate what he would do on foreign policy this is a situation.
That's happening right now that the international community is looking for leadership.
In the United States is not leaving and that starts at this top and that starts with President Obama where is he on this and why are we following.
When England and what the rest of the countries there are proposing that we did this is a real crisis.
And something that should be focused on immediately.
Well it does defense -- -- I -- you're doing exactly like what he said that that governor Romney was doing just taking this is an opportunity.
Acted to bash the president but not having a clear cut plan laid out does he needs it to have something.
Well I -- -- a table with something.
Sure I think you will see that I mean he just got the general nomination locked up last night.
We have a long time between now November for him to really introduced.
Who he is who is foreign policy team would be who is -- close -- advisors are -- the vice president's going to be there's time for him to do this but this is not.
Campaign issue you should look at present Obama's in the White House that has the opportunity to act right now and to leave and that's just not happening.
Mitt Romney made it a campaign issue when he took that cheap shot yesterday.
He's been running for president for six years I would think he would have had he did you would have formed a foreign policy national security approach by now.
And he is actually surrounding himself by a lot of the same people.
Who back George Bush and his policies to invade Iraq.
And and and and and Afghanistan so I think that we've got to know who the people are they're pretty much the neo cons who were backing George Bush.
-- -- -- Sure I think what we're really seeing right now.
With this foreign policy issue with the whole circus it's happening with that the Cory Booker in the Donald -- of the world.
I think what we're really seeing is a bigger narrative outline from now through November.
And I think that narrative is going to be experiencing creating jobs vs someone who's lost jobs for the past three and a half years.
Guys think -- so much for your time.
