The week I spent some time but part of -- large Romney family in Southern California are intent here was to find out more about him and what makes him go this morning we start with religion.
In 2008 then candidate Barack Obama.
Held a series of events.
Where he made big speeches senator around race in America -- religion in America.
And he was able to draw use those events that draw a lot of attention to this message have you given consideration to doing that about your own faith.
Well I'd give major speeches on topics of significance and have about once a week or once every two weeks for the last a couple of months and we'll continue doing so.
Asked as regards to religion in America I gave a speech in that topic -- in my last campaign.
At the George Herbert Walker Bush library.
I don't know that I would add to that or or change it in some way that I take it nothing is planned or nothing scheduled.
But despite that what do Americans need to understand about how important your -- is to you.
Well I think people who are people of faith believe that there's a purpose greater than themselves.
And for me -- there's no question I believe.
And a and a heavenly father I believe and his son Jesus Christ I believe in the holy ghost.
These are features that I think are are part of many people's faith in this country other folks have differing views.
That shapes my view I read the new testament and other scriptures that are holy in my view that -- my sense of of commitment to my nation.
And taught to be patriotic and support the nation to follow the law I'm also taught to care and serve other people.
A lot is made of your relationship with your father not a lot has been said about your mom.
We'll -- more she had three kids and the doctors came to her and said no more physically it's not going to happen every yet.
And along comes you not exactly a normal kid you -- She got him back.
And it's not absolutely.
And Jordan it it was the baby she never -- you may have and I've heard about the relationship but the point is he wasn't even supposed to be here that's tank.
Yeah.
-- and I say -- I I think my mother found it hard.
When I felt completely in love -- man.
As a senior in high school -- And I have no interest in talking about the other and only interest in being that I am not and I expect you -- -- -- -- -- -- you handled -- -- as -- -- I think a lot of -- is -- -- You said that's he's never had a serious argument had.
And 43 years have -- like that but other places we agree or disagree of course where there -- places where we disagree but we don't yell when testing labs or okay -- on the surface you expect me to believe that.
Only don't -- and slammed -- -- but he is.
When it comes to policy or issues.
As their disagreement.
Well I don't think wherever exactly on the same page -- 100% -- they weren't I'm not going to name one.
-- I don't think that's important I'm not one running for president this guy is.
And I completely support.
90%.
Important it is there's a possibility as we sit here today you can be in the White House and in parts.
You talked about that.
Yeah we've spoken about that we've thought about okay what happens in that circumstance and are we prepared for that what kinds of things -- focus on.
Which things what I do we talk about our life would change but my guess is it's almost impossible to imagine how your life we change in that circumstance.
I believe if Mitt wins the country when Smith listens -- country -- I really believe that.
I think that we are at a dividing.
A real fork in the road as to which direction this country and go and and I I really believe that there is a sense in the country that we are in danger.
And that we have got to turn this country around.
