35 year old Sharon -- Lander wipes away tears as she goes before a jailhouse judge today.

The school bus driver now facing charges of child abuse after police say she kept her ten year old daughter in this Phoenix apartment in conditions officers described as squalor.

The smell was very overwhelming.

To them they couldn't understand how anyone could could live in an environment not only that look like that.

But smell like that.

Police -- -- -- lived in the small apartment with her boyfriend.

In the police report officers described clutter three to four feet high including crack pipes Matt's pipes and pornography.

They also say there was running in moldy food in the refrigerator and roaches falling from the walls.

A neighbor noticed -- -- going in and out of her car all night long and called police to check it out early yesterday morning.

And so we did and in the end.

We were able to pull that's -- out of that environment.

Child Protective Services got involved and hopefully we we got to save one this time.

Wrote Lander was placed on house arrest today by the judge.

Her boyfriend Jeremy mountain also -- on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The great school district where -- Lander work as a driver and as a statement about the arrest saying in situations such as this it is our obligation to protect the rights and safety of our students.

While balancing the rights of our employees.

They -- the district will ensure that those obligations are carried out and decisions will be made with our students' safety and best interest in mind.

But either way -- -- -- -- -- behind the wheel of a school bus anytime soon that's because school is out for the summer.
