-- welcome back everybody an exciting show ahead we're gonna keep back.
Going I still have -- with me but Cal Thomas with today's buys bash cal I love this one.
I'm drinking I can't put motor company water because I was afraid if I had a sugary soda on set you would you would bash me.
Our little -- earlier billionaire Bloomberg you'll want to take their big gulp.
Away.
The -- well this is once again the triumph of the the nanny state Jamie I mean if the big Gulf Coast why not double quarter pounders or.
How fast the Fries or candy bars.
How about women I've seen applying makeup while driving on the interstate or man reading a book cropped up against the steering wheel and it where's the personal responsibility.
And all of us.
This it -- -- the media have been promoting for decades.
Kind of perversion of the 23 solvent government is my keeper I shall not want.
A couple of and to this -- kids -- that they felt you know -- Yeah -- the way to protect kids is for parents to be responsible.
For individuals to be responsible.
And to get out and exercise semi I do praise Michelle Obama for talking about exercising and eating right.
And they're growing your own vegetables.
But we have become a self indulgent nation whatever the kids wanna do let's keep them happy because mom and dad and mom and -- -- even married anymore are out working their buns off and the kids are in daycare and so we when we get home and we're exhausted everything we wanna give -- whatever they want just so they will be angry at us -- ignoring them.
There's -- other schools.
And wait how does the media -- that's because I imagine we've been talking about like lobbies in the unions give no money to government.
I imagine the soda industry in the sugary drink industry is probably.
Pounding the pavement on this one.
Well they are sure of course -- on the New York media have especially the New York Post.
Which is owned by our parent company is as we always have to say I have been all over this and properly ridiculing.
I mean it's.
It's so ridiculous this is what happens when politicians especially billionaire.
Politicians like Mayor Bloomberg had too much time on their hands they're always looking for another avenue for government.
To get -- measly little fingers on but again this is a problem of most of the big media they have promoted government as a solution.
Even though they can't deliver the mail even though they can't deliver health care they still turn to government as the first resource.
Well I don't know -- EU report will decide on all of those other industries but as far as the -- one goes why -- Mayor Bloomberg take this on what is what's in it for him.
Well look.
I think there is a legitimate connection between how we treat our bodies and the cost of health -- and I think that's the point.
However in elegantly he was trying to make.
There is that connection we do eat too much of the wrong stuff we don't exercise tonight and -- as much we are an obese nation.
Everybody knows this but the answer is not -- Not to limit the east side is the of the cola bottles and as many people pointed out if you really want that much stuff you can buy.
Two of the smaller sizes and then of course you -- contribute to the environmental problem because it's all plastic.
Now and you get two bottles instead of one in the dump.
So this this is the silly no so little that I don't look back -- prohibition.
Tried to ban booze what did that do well the people got -- anyway -- they got it surreptitiously they got it illegally but they got it.
And if people want to have a the equivalent of a big -- they're going to get -- no matter what the media and Mayor Bloomberg say.
You know -- that's a tip that you just gave everybody had never really thought about it just by more.
I don't I don't police something like that any will.
Course it back again going back to prohibition.
Look what happened.
I mean that the cops came -- -- you know you members some people are old enough to remember the old untouchable series on television Elliott nest and all -- that an hour or more more recently on HBO the -- a series.
Old now and I'll Atlantic City at -- and I.
Wait wait -- -- yeah I dare -- boardwalk empire that's it.
And you see all these revenue agents sectarian breaking down doors and of course they're all taken a lot overtaken money under the table in order to ignore certain people who -- Who -- creating booze and their basements and garages so it at all -- only breeds corruption.
The media again have promoted this Jamie for years that government can do something better than individuals or private industry and now it's coming back to haunt us.
It sounds frightening.
The -- but what do you -- should be -- what do you think will happen and what role should the media play in and tracking us.
Well I think we -- -- play the same role it played in the JFK administration when president Kennedy.
Came -- with his presidential.
Council on physical fitness.
Brought -- volunteers from football coaches to all kinds of people.
Exercise became the big thing the Kennedys and touch football.
This was the in thing to do get off the year -- and I get out there and play touch football exercise and get yourself in shape.
So I think leadership particularly in the media but also in politics can play a big role in this.
And NS -- -- -- -- to look at Barack Obama he's -- he stand.
Michelle Obama looks like she's in good shape they're talking about the right things but I think when it becomes a sad when it becomes even when the media are promoting it -- something really cool to do then I think you'll see morbid catching on.
But for the -- New York City to say.
You can't have the big golf anymore you can only have a smaller -- it's ludicrous.
It seems like government intervention in control to a whole new level.
I know the -- you mentioned the -- of -- are famous.
Four pick -- football games with all the kids so yeah I guess we have to set the example so so leave us now cal.
And give -- twenty RA.
Ha ha and I expect that when you were handed pushups.
-- calculated that soon but not thank you Jamie.
We love to see -- and all of the gang on FOX News Watch with our good friend John Scott -- thirty and 11:30 PM on Saturday as -- laughing.
