People want to have a governor who's gonna focus on Wisconsin.
And I have no desire to become the rock star the far right and I'm gonna focus -- I'm Wisconsin in the jobs.
That was Milwaukee mayor Tom -- campaigning.
Yesterday we were with them -- -- central part of the state and this is power flag.
And -- you heard him there he was talking to Fox News colleague Bret -- Who -- crash the party earlier which was very fun.
He's probably off finding she's -- now.
But this scene in Wisconsin is this Democrats.
Very much are pointing out that Scott Walker.
The Republican governor of the state elected in -- -- is thinking about everything but Wisconsin he wants to be a rock star.
To the far right to the Tea Party and their claim -- that billionaires and one for senators and evil people are pouring money into this -- to try to subvert.
The political will of Wisconsin.
Republicans.
Maybe not surprisingly have a different story to tell.
So let's meet well let's reintroduce ourselves to Steve says who you love -- -- still looks good and my chin is still make it.
But let's meet Brian jamming you're the vice chairman.
Of the Republican party of the great state of Wisconsin are these things accurate does -- -- -- that that's not only accurate but here's something we found out about Brian.
He is a Republican in Madison Wisconsin which is I'm trying to think of the answer it would be like something like being a Dodgers fan in San Francisco oh it would be -- it would it would be it would be.
Not a lot of fun chats at the after school picnic OK so.
What about this charge though Scott Walker has raised a a huge amount of money.
Tens of millions of dollars have poured into the state a lot of it from Texas which judging from what I heard at the fair trade coffee shop.
Yesterday in the central part of the state Texas not super popular with Democrats in Wisconsin.
What about the charge that Scott Walker is thinking about the country and has national ambitions and this is just to step off point.
Well the election tomorrow the recall elections are about one question whether the State's gonna move forward here it's gonna move backward.
And the Democrats right now to be candid with you are desperate.
A year ago at this time when we had all these protests going on at the building they thought they'd be in control the state senate right now.
And they thought Scott Walker would be you know fifteen or twenty points behind right now in the fact.
The matter is he's been in the lead the whole time they're frustrated they're -- and it here in the end.
Look Scott Walker would have.
That's good idea if I'm being nice area -- -- identified the substance are there others -- -- But those -- -- job.
More tomorrow night yeah.
They're desperate and and the fact is they thought they'd be -- right now they've been behind on almost every public poll.
That's been out there and they thought they'd be -- they thought Scott Walker actually would be unpopular for cutting taxes and controlling spending.
And he inherited a half.
Three and a half billion dollar deficit when he came to office.
I've been around this building for 25 years -- probably inherited the worst situation of any governor Democrat or Republican that's been in this building.
So.
He's had quite a job and -- -- they're mad that he did his job.
A -- right now and two and I will say this in walker to Walker's credit he has very much made this Steve -- a choice election.
He has very much until there was.
Controversy O and very unpleasant add that he ran about a child who was killed in Milwaukee.
-- and that and has since come down.
Over the radio over the that it is still running backs ever did this morning yeah yeah running there's a little bit.
There's a strong impulse among campaign consultants at the end of any race if they have not gotten all of the money possible out of any campaign.
To go with basically talking negative closing -- because it's expensive and they get to mark -- the media.
But Steve.
The flip side of the democratic claim that what walkers doing here is really just about the country and he wants to be Rick Perry and -- -- Is this back.
This does have national.
That did this will reverberate nationally whatever happens -- just talk a second about that.
It was interesting to solicited JR I guess guess at a slightly different take and I think if you if you if you have Scott Walker when your particular he wins by a margin that's greater than his margin.
Sixteen months ago when you know two years -- year and a half ago -- five points of view we if he increases that margin.
I think it will be so tremendously dispiriting to to Democrats in the state.
The labor across the country any particular because the president didn't come here -- mean you can you literally had president had to have.
Have you tried to avoid Wisconsin.
When he was in the region on Friday he was in Minnesota for three fund -- He flew across the state down to Chicago for three fundraisers.
And opted not to come here despite the fact that one day earlier Tom Barrett had said the Huffington Post.
I'd love for him to come meet me in western Wisconsin will do -- fish fry.
I drive I drive the border.
Right so so here's the question.
And as we as we look down the road to November.
Do you expect to be seeing a lot of Mitt Romney here.
I do actually Wisconsin's there was a poll out the last ten days that showed it was essentially tied.
Between President Obama and Mitt Romney Wisconsin often has been on the target list but we're not at the top of the target list.
I think particularly if Scott Walker Rebecca -- vision that we hang on the legislature tomorrow I think Wisconsin's get a get a hold.
-- look for a good reason I've been all around the state have been talking to folks.
All across a state where an old Rust Belt state.
We've lost a 150000.
Jobs in the last eight years which is something that Scott Walker has also had to try to clean up.
And the fact of the matter is people are not happy with what's going on nationally in the unemployment -- news going up last Friday.
Not well received here you're kinda make time for a Steve -- your task is to figure out where were having dinner tonight that's -- number number one thing I would appreciate if you would do that.
