Effort and here with a preview of this race and -- give us an update.

From the ground in Madison is -- our friend Frank Luntz with a special focus group of Wisconsin voters frank this -- gotten very contentious.

Big battles we saw what happened at the Statehouse.

Is it still as divided as a watts.

It's still divided it's still partisan in the question I got -- my my Wisconsin voters right now it has this really done something good for your state.

Why not if -- Are you minds.

It's also.

Drug into question whether recall elections.

You should be held that when there -- policy differences.

And -- you think it's positive.

I think it's a good thing I like the changes that it happened in this state I think it's brought some issues to light that need to be Dallas.

-- wipe out about this event talked about long long ago.

But who's angry about the cost of this.

Positive what's happened but how he's done it is -- has been very demoralizing he's been very addicted to the people.

Who can afford it the least addictive as walker been convicted.

To me is that -- -- Go ahead it's not positive the way he's done it we might want -- have discussions but he hasn't had discussions he's made decisions without our input -- And often.

And not doing we need people to be doing the job that they were elected for is he doing the job yes there yeah -- have to be made.

So you don't think there should be any recall no absolutely not and if this were Democrats liberal you would be trying to throw him out don't know.

I don't know at -- a -- as chairman we -- with Clinton for eight years -- got to.

Question for that I've -- -- this is fundamental frank is I think what's happening Wisconsin is just a small microcosm of what's gonna happen nationally.

Here's the situation first of all Governor Walker ran on this platform.

He to do no secrets here he ran on a platform and he followed through.

He inherited its three point six billion and a budget deficit.

Now the state has a surplus he has 23000 new jobs in the state six point seven unemployment much lower than the national average.

Are they not happy with these results knowing that the state cannot continue to borrow and spend and create these deficits.

I would think everybody be happy.

Well first question got asked -- believe those statistics yes or not at a -- who believes them.

Who does not believe.

You don't believe in it but -- official numbers.

I can't -- earlier at the numbers -- the -- at the jazz -- created but it doesn't talk about the jobs that -- taken away and -- way outweigh what's been created.

Eight at what price -- -- what are those minimum wage jobs and we're losing high end jobs.

That's not enough money for a -- -- -- to live on the jobs he's creating companies.

Minimum wage jobs or any jobs.

It's the government's job to get out of the way of business so that they can hire people so everyone succeeds in grow.

Okay hold on hold on John you wanna clear I saw what I there was a woman in the back there Franken wanted to -- -- I wanna dress her because.

It but the choice was if you -- three point six billion dollars in a state budget deficit you have a small population relatively speaking.

And it.

The governor says.

We got to pull back on some of the benefits make it.

Make some parity with the private sector and I can save everybody's job nobody lost a job as a result of his plan.

And that -- broader than three point six.

Billion dollars to a surplus how could -- not say that that's not a good thing for your state.

We're not yet that this gag -- but that's not all true I I just don't know what does that trillion -- classic scene incomes go down.

What part is not true.

Yeah I heard heard it was actually in the black.

Scott Walker falsely created a budget crisis and tried to solve our -- that -- Richard no not at all I'd like to know where your statistics are coming from because there's a -- him I haven't -- an iota of evidence that produces IA I mean I watch the news everyday.

I mean I would like to know exactly where that came from a state budget.

It's such a thing but -- -- shot shot how to make a point here because I think this is important we've now reached a situation where we can't even agree on the simple facts.

That depending on which side you support even the facts themselves.

Are debatable.

That's -- how are you supposed to bring Wisconsin together when you can't even agree on simple numbers look at.

US Department of Labor on their numbers and that'll tip that'll give you.

As step in the direction were hidden and.

We've got to bring the people to the table let me we've got to come together and talk to to together foot and -- hasn't been willing to do that you don't and I.

Got that less tolerant.

When it came time to talk to Democrats left how do you talk.

And yeah yeah.

-- they just wanted to make decisions and make bullets and the they had to walk away in order doesn't Alter the whole lot of holes on -- I wanna get distributable Carter go ahead that's not the way it works you don't leave the state you don't take your -- -- home when you don't like how things are going got exactly and you don't just you don't just leave the state.

When you don't -- -- take a vote on something because you're not gonna like it but you okay.

Okay let's wait I want I want to show the people the -- that you saw earlier shall we got you -- to show you one of them is in favour Scott Walker what's interesting about this at its core is very well.

Is that he looked straight to the camera.

Without a jacket.

And he makes the appeal directly him to the voters of Wisconsin.

All the -- a polarizing but this -- was actually less polarizing than most let's take a look.

But it's -- bad news for Tom -- But good news for Wisconsin.

-- we're just released the final job numbers and as it turns out.

-- finish -- game that's right game more than 20000.

New jobs and -- my first year in office.

-- the jobs created this year.

Total gross to over 30000.

We're -- and he sent this election's about job.

I couldn't agree more.

-- -- -- Removing Wisconsin forward.

Over eighty frank for Republicans that's a big number as we do these styles often and I even noticed democratic number one up to 45 now.

That was a big deal those numbers have been confirmed by the government six point 7%.

I gotta tell you something there's a lot of states in this country right now would double digit unemployment.

So my question how first -- how many union members are in your your audience tonight.

Let's -- have a view art either had been -- you'd -- come from union family -- -- OK so it's about half.

And and it's your union the union president can -- -- why this contention.

Between walker anything -- why can't you get along.

He would never come to the table we we tried to get him to the table he wouldn't come to the table it's not what he's done it's the way he's done it and he's hurt people.

At the bottom the worst -- -- he didn't he didn't campaign -- -- he never mentioned that when he was campaigning group.

Fresh thinking he's been able to make concessions and then.

They rushed to sign contracts that we're not gonna make concessions the world.

What about all the teachers that -- note that they would educate the children when they decided to take off on their days when they were not supposed to.

And went to the capital and protested against the union rules that they actually had installed in the -- is not a.

-- I can't take it day afterward because my kids couldn't go to school -- they're teachers decided to have.

Can't imagine the most interesting kind of -- the -- Union is that union membership has time -- Teacher union membership has gone from 171002111000.

She's -- 30% decrease in those are members who are choosing to leave.

Teachers union.

Sean it's not just a brawl between politicians.

It's not just a brawl between philosophies it's a brawl between union and business and the question then becomes.

Who are more likely to create -- job it was more likely to keep -- job is more likely that to pay people a fair wage.

This thing -- -- is a microcosm.

Of what's going I nationwide.

It what it seems to me -- -- what a man and a hard time nobody lost their job.

If it -- -- and the facts and the facts that he did inherit a three point six billion dollar budget deficit.

And now the state has a surplus as silent as you're speaking to the union member I don't I was thinking about is she comfortable and happy with.

How the unions acted when they went to the state house and they took over the Statehouse and people didn't show up -- work.

-- all Governor Walker was askew was that the same payments that.

That the private sector.

Is making to there you know health care and to their retirement funds will be made by unions is that not fair.

Let -- but the but the fact is not talked about is the fact that over the last fifteen years or more steep the people vote.

-- the workers of the state of Wisconsin have given up pay raises.

In order to maintain their benefits and then to have their benefits -- yanked out from underneath them in one month old.

And that private -- there.

I think -- percent of all my benefits that pay a 100% of my pension contribution out of my check.

My wages drop and -- -- come.

I worked for the state for six years and I didn't have a choice as to whether or not to be in the union I had to pay the dues.

If I did a better job than the guy next to me I still got the same -- that he did that.

Actually got so much more of this to get you have got some ads that are being run against Scott Walker that are quite effective I gotta tell you.

When you come up here you wonder is this what's gonna happen the other 49 states -- now become so divided that there is nothing that's gonna bridge this gap.

You know -- I gotta tell you something you're actually ranked -- what's happening.

In Wisconsin is coming to the United States now the we have sixteen trillion dollars five trillion plus a new Obama debt -- gonna take a break frank stay right there you have a great.
