There are word recount if the races close is that in the Paris.

An attorney general holder dispatch Justice Department officials here to Wisconsin to make sure this recall election goes without a hitch.

Isn't as fast attorney general worried about voter problems joining -- is was concentrate general JB van on nice to see you receive credit okay this isn't a routine that the federal government that the justice I would send the people get a look at the.

-- actually watched election right.

I think it's routine -- the federal government sends election officials hope it's also routine of my office sends people out and I think we do it for two very different reasons.

There -- to enforce Civil Rights Act to make sure that people haven't reporters if they need -- the polls and there isn't discrimination based on race or gender.

Or the inability to speak English we send people out to the polls to make sure that all poll workers and everybody at the polls abide by the law.

We've got a very heated campaign obviously very very heated election eyes and realize that it wouldn't surprise me if there's a little -- electioneering it goes on -- and we get pulled creep in people get a little too close to the polls that they're campaigning in.

We don't want to dissuade voters who turn out to vote obviously tell can be huge and I think it's important it is usually the true message from the voters how many people do have sent out -- -- watch it polls well.

The combined with law enforcement in total there probably about a hundred out there -- out of the Department of Justice we sent seventeen teams.

The team a team now have my parents used to people's one prosecutor and one division of criminal investigation special -- Are you working -- together would the Justice Department third -- -- from the they are saying there's -- Washington -- -- serve like just two different satellites well we're two different satellites and once again it's two different causes we are working with local law enforcement agencies were working with local district attorneys for instance in Milwaukee County alone.

Work working with the district attorney in the police department.

To make sure that we have teams that are sun -- there with them it's a coordinated effort well I -- -- from the outside there's the I suspect that he appeared to some people.

Is that you know your Republican.

And -- Eric Holder the attorney general has been he's been nominated by a guy so he's a Democrat Spitzer -- -- -- back by a democratic president that this is somehow serve dueling Republicans and the Democrats watching the polls.

Well we've seen -- for years anyway we've actually seen people from the Democrat party the Republican Party watching the polls.

Here we have people are going on the professional legal capacity and and quite frankly I think you're colder.

Has the best of intentions as well they have a job to do and that's enforcing the borders race that.

We have a job to do and making sure we have integrity in our election process here in Wisconsin that we don't have voter fraud.

That we don't have people instructing the polling places.

That we give good legal advice to the poll workers so -- things proceed smoothly and very importantly -- have agents and attorneys in the field -- something does go wrong.

We can scramble to the nearest courthouse and make sure that we can clarify things because the next -- too late if we have our problems with election integrity -- you hearing anything.

I'm really not -- -- yeah it is a good sign you know we've been working on this for quite a number of elections now and a lot the last fourteen.

We have experience -- you know I think we've had tremendous success in Wisconsin in -- making sharp polls run smoother all the time and I think part of that is as we provided more training.

And we've had people on the scene and it's something that we look forward continuing to do digital picture -- They're not now and -- controversy that's a whole different story absolutely if we had a photo ID requirement in this state which we had a few elections ago.

That was put on hold by the courts I think that reduces the opportunity for potential voter fraud considerably.

We don't have that means we have to be that much more -- is there a history of voter fraud in the state it's -- it's you know my office combined with the district attorney's office and pleas from Milwaukee -- alone during the 2000.

Eighty election.

120 cases that we prosecuted and and that I.

He can say is a sloppy stuff -- producers stupid about the rules.

Or is it real -- with a trying to undermine the integrity of the election -- it's real stuff it's felons voting is people voting twice things along those lines.

Wisconsin's voting -- laws are so liberal with a small -- So liberal that it's.

Some cases of fraud you catch being perpetrated.

You know that there's a multiplier effect in there and that there's a whole lot more than that that we haven't caught.

It's -- festive last isn't -- I look forward to -- I look forward to being to being back over here tomorrow night watching things very closely at.

-- -- -- -- -- They issued a check out the pull yourself out why -- -- vote I'll be at the polls voting absolutely.

I'm going to be doing a few more media interviews has I think you might expect with regards to this issue and others in general.

But there's no making bones about the fact that I think governor Walker's trying to done a tremendous job for the state of Wisconsin and so I'm going to be.

Watching with some anxiety myself to see what the results are.

I think he's taken our state he certainly taken that.

The public safety aspect that I'm very very concerned of what is attorney general in a very positive direction and I look forward hopefully having at least two and a half more years to work with them.

Attorney Geoff thank you -- -- a good data.
