-- -- his second in command the target at the US drone strike yesterday in Pakistan.

I'm the man in your screen stepped into the number two spot after the death of the sound and -- and and so far there's some evidence suggesting -- the air strike was successful but.

Of course forensic testing is needed to confirm his death Peter Brookes is a former CIA officer and a senior fellow for national security affairs.

At the -- foundation so Peter.

-- -- it this is confirmed how big -- -- deal is this.

I think it's very good news he's obviously number two in al-Qaeda Al qaeda's core that group that original 9/11 group that's fighting itself in the Pakistani tribal areas.

He's a major propagandist.

He's important to al-Qaeda getting its message out two recruiting new people to raising funds things along this line so if he's gone it's definitely a good day.

His in his and you get this news enough to see the front page of the Wall Street Journal because on the front page of the Wall Street Journal there's a big story about.

The CIA drying down its people.

In Iraq they say they're gonna drive down 1040% of wartime levels and I'm curious with your ex threes in the CIA.

What do you think that means for intelligence in the area and the Middle East is there any.

Are expected this CIA agents being moved to places like Pakistan or Afghanistan what's going on.

Well it's critically important that we support the war fighters intelligence is our first line of defense we need to support our war fighters.

The guys and gals -- -- fighting right now in places like Afghanistan.

You watch your assets since they are limited Jenna of course seeing you know we don't have unlimited number of intelligence officers you want -- in the places which provide the greatest threat.

Now to my money right now I would say our greatest counter terrorism threat to the United States is probably coming from al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula which is in Yemen.

Yemen so you want folks looking at that.

You also you don't wanna create a blind -- obviously al-Qaeda in Iraq which is causing trouble for the government there but like I said we have a war in Afghanistan we've got al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula we have other threats around the world so I hopefully these folks inside the intelligence apparatus are looking at where we have.

Holes intelligence holes that we need to plug with with our intelligence officers and they're doing now.

Interesting to talk about Iraq of course because of the relationship between Iran and Iraq with -- breaking news this hour on Iran yet to top senior officials saying listen Iran is.

Accelerating change its enrichment program.

We just heard from Jim washing MIT this is listen he is -- think there's a lot of bad news in this report.

I'm just curious in your opinion not on this news is what we're learning more about you know what's what's happening inside -- -- and what kind of a threat there really is there.

Does no good news coming out Iran from what I can tell and I would I would probably disagree with Jim -- I didn't see his segment.

But I would disagree with him there the fact is is that they continue to enrich uranium -- enriching -- to levels higher than necessary for that for nuclear reactor fuel up to 27%.

Third -- continue to create a greater volume of low enriched uranium that -- be reprocessed.

Into highly enriched uranium for weapons they've got this new facility that they're cleaning up the other they're moving -- around and running down the -- -- -- -- -- that's what.

It is our intelligence though really inside of Iran.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Others it was good and -- today Peter that's for sure is an understatement.

A lot to keep and -- and thank you so much is always nice to have grabbed me.
