Now is the very first lieutenant governor to ever face a recall in America Wisconsin.

Wisconsin's own Rebecca -- fish lieutenant governor welcome back to the show.

Thanks so much -- I will prefer to be known hopefully after tonight as the only lieutenant governor national history to be elected twice in my own first term are what you're on the ground you're there tell us what you're hearing -- say.

Well we are hearing some of the same things that you are hearing and that is turn around his extraordinary.

Our government and -- accountability board predicted between sixty and 65%.

In some precincts we know that they are over 100% that's how many new voters they are signing up I went I -- at 430 today.

The entire table was all of people registering to -- all new voters and so -- excited.

How about turnout tonight we make it's good to have more people involved in the electoral process and were cautiously optimistic.

Don't want when you -- very optimistic lieutenant governor and you know I've got to imagine because this -- been pretty ugly at times we've all seen the video we've seen people leaving the stage they.

The -- in the -- they left the state.

All the unions and all their involvement in all of this personally for you wouldn't Governor Walker.

Don't tell our audience what has it been like it was -- like for your state.

You know why I think that our state this has been down moments.

We have endured so much altogether.

And I think after tonight we'll come out stronger for it.

We know that we have a very passionate electorate on both sides of the aisle but hopefully we'll -- wake up tomorrow.

We're going to be focused on creating jobs to gather and we're gonna put this recall behind us that's what sounds good.

Almost all of Wisconsin folks want to put this recall business and then nonstop and turn.

Behind them all the political ads -- want to enjoy our summer work on creating jobs there.

We'll sensible with the interestingly to me is the numbers look pretty I mean unemployment is well below the national average I'm -- not what you wanna to be at at six point 7%.

We'll look at 30000 jobs created in the last year you took a three point six billion dollar deficit it turned it -- -- 150 million dollar surplus.

Are you confident that that message got sent to the voters are they aware of all of these success.

John we have lasted all on the field we know that we have contacted more voters this time around -- we did in the entire 2010 campaign.

And we have been sharing that message with voters is a very positive message of -- -- for all of Wisconsin not political victories.

But good things for the taxpayers in the hardworking families things like.

Closing that budget deficit without raising taxes making sure that.

Our families and our job creators are doing so well in fact that we get it up with a 154.

Million dollars surplus at the end of our biennial budget.

These are all things that all of Wisconsin owns these are good things in victories for every one and I spent quite.

-- let me ask you this -- so we've heard about voter irregularities.

In different parts of the state a lot of this may -- being hyped up because emotions are running really high.

Have you heard any of these reports today.

You know just from the media I am not -- Anything firsthand and that's why our Department of Justice actually deployed a number of teams to various polling places across the state to assure that.

There wasn't gonna be any voter fraud we also know that the Republican Party has trained so many -- watching volunteers and they are out in force as well.

And -- the polls have closed.

We have only to wait and hoping that the voters of Wisconsin are responding to our positive message -- live in the state formally.

The only it's this is my analysis of your race and timely hitting to the media writer maybe I'm wrong because.

Hope I would both do -- the governor of come under tremendous pressure it seems certain it was content to me is a microcosm of what's happening nationally that is.

Government spending more money than they're taking in that they cannot afford.

But yet both you -- the governor never wavered you've held strong you'd never buckled there's been incredible pressure brought to bear on you that you pushed ahead.

And it seems that the public -- is getting serious.

About balancing their budgets.

That is what true shot yes go ahead.

I don't I would agree with you I think that's a great analysis if -- take a look at how any family balances their budgets that around the kitchen table are.

Any small business owner tries to balance their budget especially in the middle of -- deep recession he just can't spend more than you have you have to government was -- Before we took off his government had spent so much money they got the big cat COLT put -- the taxpayers inside of it any.

And it's just now under this administration that we're helping each other out of the hole.

And that's what we're doing moving forward how we -- to continue to move forward that's what tonight is about for us in Wisconsin.

It's about going bad.

Today dazed and digging that hole in putting -- that three point six billion dollar deficit.

We're moving forward to nobody is a balanced budget surplus this.

You know -- from Wisconsin last voted Republican and a presidential election in 1984.

A lot of people have been saying that this is the second most important election of of the year 2012.

Do you think this has it has the gives us any indication the results is they command tonight we even expect in this hour that'll have any impact on what we can see for the November election.

I do so -- I absolutely do I think it also speaks volumes that the president.

It has avoided Wisconsin and supporting Tom Barrett very publicly because he had a choice -- the day when he was in Minneapolis and Chicago.

To actually fly through Wisconsin he ends that shows death.

-- Tom -- the Democrat candidate in this -- -- election from 2010 but I also think.

Bet if Wisconsin continues to be -- tonight and bodes very well.

-- Republican nominee I'm very excited about our chances in November if we have a good night tonight.

What do you think the White House is motive was for being so tepid and in its endorsement.

You know I think they'll White House see is what the rest of Wisconsin -- and that is that -- reforms are working.

You know we -- between state and local governments a billion dollars that's a big victory for taxpayers he keeps more squad cars on the streets keep in our family safe.

It keeps more women going to take cancer -- well woman program.

These are great victories and part of our positive message of move in the state forward.

And to be frank with you I don't know that the president wanted to come the end and then potentially see a lost tonight knowing that.

He did not have the ability to lift Tom Barrett to a victory.
