This is -- Fox News alert Wisconsin governor Scott Walker is keeping his job.

The people in this state have spoken governor Scott Walker was.

With his recall battle so -- with 26% of the precincts reporting.

Governor Walker -- 60% of the vote and Milwaukee mayor Tom Barrett has 40% now this race is -- and called for lieutenant governor -- She just defeated mailing it -- 59% to 41%.

So what does this mean for the state it was -- was -- -- for President Obama this is just a local -- and just about Governor Walker.

And the recall -- doesn't show they union power is diminishing.

-- that Wisconsin is turning red.

It has been an intense and unpredictable couple weeks and days and finishing with a local where the -- for Governor Walker.

-- the battle began with Governor Walker proposed a law stripping public unions.

But not police or firefighters and -- collective bargaining rights.

You cannot forget those boisterous -- passion protests in Wisconsin state capital Madison and now he's here.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- We're also live in Milwaukee and mayor Barrett's campaign headquarters now we haven't Jim can't show see you tonight so don't go way RNC chair -- -- -- Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal was Kansas state assembly minority leader Peter Barca.

But first former Alaska governor Sarah -- pity -- got.

Hey Greta how are you there.

I -- out -- let's say you're all they know they knew today weather's going to be mayor -- the new governor governor about Walker's gonna retain his seat so your thoughts on tonight's Seth.

Music Governor Walker is is the winner.

It isn't.

-- and encouraging news Greta it's good for the entire country because people are gonna recognize threw -- governor Walker's efforts that.

Austerity measures responsible austerity measures of reining in government growth.

Really will help our nation as a whole with the economic woes that we face this is positive news and I think -- did.

And Wisconsin is living up to -- State's motto that providential motto of forward they're moving forward they're gonna help lead the charge for the rest of the country.

-- needed government broke allowing the private sector should be the ones to create jobs.

Tyson tonight governor -- -- Bristol normally does Specter representing all the people in Wisconsin including all those union members.

All those Democrats who -- very fiercely against him.

And for their candidate so tell me -- in this -- -- in the -- tell me what does Governor Walker do tomorrow to begin to sort of reconcile our heal those -- points.

They're very deep in the state.

He keeps someone he could not -- keep showing.

True facts -- stats through the numbers that they don't lie that.

Re moving deficit spending.

And allowing a deficit to turn into a surplus allowing the government to rein itself and BO legislative and policy measure so that the private sector can grow those numbers don't lie and he needs to keep reminding the public got back.

He also maybe maybe not him but somebody could encourage our good union Brothers and sisters -- Wisconsin and I say it as a former IVW's sister my husband has that still worker and I've -- EW brother.

It got me is that union leadership there those.

Thugs who wanted to deceit and their members into believing.

They're growing government was the answer well perhaps it's those union leaders that need to be recalled and replaced with those who understand.

What perhaps in union role could be in state government.

Not a selfish role not a role that does allow was a government to continue to grow and it created installment situation for -- state.

You know it's interesting we've spoken to him before the -- last year during the during the protests -- spoken to the governor number of times since.

And I asked him Leo what you have done differently.

And -- -- he doesn't he doesn't back off his policies he says that he wished she'd been perhaps better communicating its message so that there would not be this deep divide.

Is that is is do you agree that there's a better -- that he couldn't deliver his message better so that perhaps he could end that -- and maybe this recall.

-- everything that Wisconsin has gone through in the last couple of years.

-- with fellow lock makers skipping town not doing their job and hiding out in another state the Democrats because they didn't want to face what Governor Walker was proposing.

The Supreme Court -- up -- up propose to change with processors.

An election there and now with this recall election I think Wisconsin voters.

Are sick and tired out -- -- mission that's been caused by the radical lapsed again saying that it's big government growth it's going to be the answer to -- the economic challenges.

And I think that the people there come together in -- continue now.

To -- the country.

In these measures that are just common sense is economics 101 you know you live within your means your fiscally responsible and that's how.

You will become economically successful in the states in the business in our nation I got naturally this site -- is going to happen under.

This good governor and lieutenant governor slots.

They -- -- the crowd roaring and I -- on the screen I can also appeared behind me Missouri right outside his headquarters and very happy.

Had Governor Walker supporters here in walk yourself.

-- intercede in 2008 them.

Perhaps President Obama won by fourteen points in the -- -- very decisive Victor -- you know better than anybody else have been part of the ticket.

I'm curious though whether or not the Democrats here are a little bit bitter that President Obama didn't help -- are very very here.

He had a chance last week when he was in Minneapolis -- three fundraisers he flew over Wisconsin Illinois is -- fund raisers.

There are many months leading up -- now he was a no show he -- -- -- he's shown very little interest in this race or perhaps you thought that.

It was sent to hot potato that you want to be connected to it and I'm curious what that what you what you think the Democrats are thinking about the president's no show.

I think.

If the Democrats there understand that the president's notes show represents the fact that Obama's goose is cooked.

As more and more Americans realize that what Wisconsin has just manifested -- this -- is embracing austerity and fiscal responsibility.

Is the complete opposite of what President Obama and the White House represents they they want to grow government they wanna take more away from the private sector they -- -- that aren't really imperial.

Spirited resource development opportunities.

From America act so that a centralized growing government -- taken -- private sectors place.

Well Wisconsin wasn't gonna put up with the -- in the nation won't put up with that so Obama did have to distance himself.

From best solutions.

That to rocker and played fish and their administration represented.

This stay away.

And I should notify the fears were -- -- for Governor Walker they'll be out Sunnis inside the building.

Obviously every -- with the news that broke just a short time ago that he has won this election.

I'm so we're gonna stand -- take his speech associated stability of governor -- didn't happen in this state there was -- President Obama didn't appear here but President Bill Clinton did still a big favorite among Democrats.

He was here instead trying to -- his campaign for the mayor on Friday.

Did today his presence here to show up President Obama or do you think President Obama sent PM.

And -- Democrats understand that this is politics and I wouldn't be good for the president to be connected to a losing race.

You know I think a lot of us took away from president Clinton's message there.

Was I again that fiscal responsibility handsome austerity measures are the solutions President Clinton reminded people.

That he with the help of that the time speaker Gingrich and their efforts to rein in government growth and balanced budgets some austerity measures.

That that allowed.

I deficit spending to be -- -- on -- national level.

So pretty recognizes what the solutions are any at a very diplomatic kind of crafty nice way to tell on the public.

That what he and speaker Gingrich and the Republican majority congress did in those years that he was president.

What's actually helpful for the nation's economy vs.

What walk -- Larry what -- there recall activists were trying to prove in this Wisconsin recall effort.

You know I don't seem to have something happens that it's it's the messages they'll last forever but November is actually six months off for five months you do the -- And a lot can happen sort of hard to tell and this is just a burst of energy.

For the Republican Party here in this state and Governor Walker whether -- long stay up until November.

-- but lingering between now and November.

Is a Supreme Court decision on health care it's gonna go one of two ways in the -- way.

-- not his way as severe reflection if -- the president how much.

Loses health care the Supreme Court and assisted deal would what does that mean and -- the president wins health care and yet he loses tonight.

I believe that the president will lose the health care battle in -- Supreme Court.

And I'm obviously he and his message his mission has lost here in Wisconsin which is kind of a microcosm of the rest of America so things are.

-- looking real good for President Obama.

But haven't -- -- great I I think it's important that not just hardcore Republicans but.

The good blue dog Democrats Reagan Democrats independents understand that.

Really on that federal level when it comes to that presidential election we really just need to apply common sense not allowed.

Partisanship to get in the way of just.

I didn't do electing people who will do what's right for the people -- who understand what's America's foundation is all about in and that is about reward for work ethic and resource development it is about the private sector's growth.

And electing someone who represents that obviously President Obama doesn't represent that he represented the complete opposite of that and the numbers don't lie his joblessness numbers represent that.

People on food stamps the numbers they're represent that.

They adapt it's going four billion dollars a day -- Obama represents that itself.

The presidential election.

Just hopefully -- reflection of the people's acknowledgment that we need to look quite common sense fiscal responsibility austerity living within our means.

That's gonna get the economy back on the right track President Obama does not represent that.

Let us into the trend isn't as important in the -- inherit a very bad economy but what's the trend and I think it's very painful to the Obama administration and of course more sort of the American people -- unemployment level.

Went up -- ticked up a tenth of percent down last month.

-- -- 69000 jobs are creating -- manufacturing.

In numbers indicate that it's it's been sluggish new home sales are sluggish I think that's an enormous credit problem for the president.

But even warm -- -- on number tonight is that the Latino unemployment rate.

Is at 11%.

Now that's way above the eight point 2% national and Latino voters supposedly said -- such an important.

Part of the vote this November and influential bloc.

And I think that's sort of the hidden.

They hidden factor in this is that Latino vote and that 11% that's got that's gotta hurt the president politically.

I'm -- that I I am want to believe that.

Red and yellow black and white every American them precious sitting in the should be the president sites I'd doesn't really matter race -- demographic where there are represented begin to what these polls are showing.

I think the general consensus is president Obama's hat has us on the wrong track the numbers don't lie as you are suggesting that trend.

Continues that is -- -- be our economy in the fall and there's no plan to biggest -- hold via Obama's administration.

Will have a budget.

Three years later he's not leading us to even half of federal budget that that's it you know to me it's immoral or unethical it violates the constitution.

And I know I think people are gonna say okay enough is enough of this -- be changing stuff that was nebulous it was eight.

It was hypocritical.

And we're ready to go in a different direction with.

A new leader of America.

-- hadn't been around the -- and -- But today it's sixty house -- six months off now and that I know what the trend is going to be.

But I think tonight the Republicans say you know and have the wind behind -- -- would at least here in this state.

And Devin already of Governor Walker just be -- to finish what you what Governor -- say when it comes out tonight.

Well it's not just Republicans -- -- the wind to their back it's America as a whole in the eyes of America have been on Wisconsin.

And so looking to see if the Governor Walker would keep that resolve to keep that still spying and recognizing that -- his -- stiffened the rest of us and feel empowered.

Other governors across the nation feel empowered and emboldened to do the right thing for the people that they're serving.

So Governor Walker tonight just acknowledges that that.

You know it is -- people who recognized and acted on that recognition.

The fiscal responsibility.

That they need deserve tax payers deserve.

And he just was one -- help administer what the people's will has -- -- it will be a humble gracious very appreciated message.

In terms of the government last -- asked -- is not is that with us -- was doesn't and I estimated -- and -- seen an article -- suggested his name as perhaps to be and the ticket -- governor Romney.

He said no -- no it's my good friend.

Paul Ryan -- congressman from the state here he'd be a better choice but.

This doesn't mean this win tonight makes him a little bit at least for the moment.

A bigger influence in the -- and actually do agree.

Agree Greta I.

I think anybody -- there in the arena do you get out in net -- I you know on that platform about ideas and solutions that work and obviously governor Walker's solutions.

There working the numbers show that he's turned a deficit into a surplus that.

Dead -- that unemployment rate has gone down in his state the private sector is actually.

Be able to create jobs Cassie to bring Indian and -- to government spending doesn't solutions that.

Would -- do well on on any national ticket.

Any certain time -- -- -- -- -- -- parliament sadness tonight at least empathy for -- mayor Barrett stemming.

He campaigned his heart and soul on here and so -- his supporters and it's always disappointing to lose.

Not not an ounce of sympathy or empathy for.

I'm someone who was trying to fool the public into believing that growing government is the answer to any of the economic challenges in this city in a state -- in our nation.

Now -- the people spoke to and dubbed by this is good news for all of America.

So tomorrow starts a new day here in Wisconsin least until the next election.

And maybe it is -- -- to see whether or not Governor Walker can try to unite these two sides -- because it.

And as I -- as a noted earlier governor -- take these people here are divided.

This is not just a race for people are ambivalent this in very strong passionate dead views on each side and hottest guys gonna do it.

Well sure I -- -- -- you know I'm Wisconsin forward is their theme and they will move forward and I think it naturally they will.

Unite to win more of the numbers show -- out Walker's austerity measures actually work for the people for the taxpayers.

What you'll see coming from the White House in -- ensuing days though will be.

A diminishment of tonight's election results seen in the White House Jay Carney can't wait to see how he spends all this and ignores that.

And President Obama himself they're gonna really try to distance themselves from this despite the fact that -- leading their lap dogs in the leftist media.

Made -- a front page story for how many months months and months all we heard about was Wisconsin's recall effort to end.

The other Democrat state lawmakers hiding out -- another -- didn't.

She did the Supreme Court -- that well and because fiscal conservatives won on all those issues this is kind of the culmination of the victory for fiscal conservatives and from -- you're gonna see Obama in the White House distanced itself.

Governor I'm -- my last quick question you said yes I guess is we don't know the good from the numbers could just be content right now the risk of coffee Governor Walker but it could be a really close -- in -- -- could be of law we don't know how.

But if this is a close -- -- Mears 2010.

Does it really does it really mean much -- it's the same thing that got him elected -- Two years ago.

No it does mean much oh what you could read into if it does turn out to be close election Greta is that there is power in those special interest in almost tens of millions of dollars of tax Payer money that went into this recall effort.

-- union dues that really were wasted so union Brothers and sisters take it out on your union leadership -- recalled them get seven responsible leadership in there.

I'm what it tells you is that money does buy a lot of influence and I think that will be what you can attribute to -- close race to.

But I don't think at the end of the night here we're gonna see it being that close.

Closing in plus a stunning catnip bracing it was -- Sindh governor thank you very much for joining us.

Right.
