And it failed so I think what if you're the Obama campaign looking at what happened in Wisconsin last night you've got to be a little more nervous about what's headed up in November.

They came out in near record if not record numbers for an off year election and -- every county.

And second they validated their verdict of two years ago I may disagree.

But you know what they said to the outside interest groups and the national parties and both sides can we made our decision let us stay the course.

Now what does that mean for what you asked me for the national implications.

On the one hand one side poured tons of money into it and yet as you saw on the exit polling nine out of ten Wisconsin we made up our mind.

When it became 71.

Money put in didn't sway us in the -- you have -- money behind you ideology won't last in the long term.

On the other side you could see several institutions let's take unions would turn entertaining you brought up.

That in their chartered says -- for the working family.

Well in this case these appeared to be more for anti anti walker.

And pro union membership and benefits.

Not for the working family as they were in the health care debate so for a nationally I think both parties -- look at this and say.

Those who are really gonna galvanize the constituency.

Are those who are going to be in it.

For the interest of the American people not the positions of the respective parties.

And I think that is what's -- -- -- this pretty tight national election interests not positions of the parties or special interest.

You know I had said earlier this morning that there were a couple of ballot measures that may have been impact and I don't know maybe they were affected by what was going on Wisconsin one.

Was to reform pension obligations for city workers that overwhelmingly.

Up passed in the largest city San Diego and San Jose and this other measure that was on the bell -- -- wanna get your thoughts on this.

It's still a very it's tight -- -- measure to increase the cigarette tax by a dollar a pack.

Opponents argued projected tax revenues would be misdirected in wasted on new levels of unnecessary bureaucracy.

I'll hold a lot of ground -- if you will and just trusts.

Sure I think you've seen this across the country you're seeing different states look for how to fill budget shortfalls.

And -- really interesting I think this plays in the California and plays in the Wisconsin.

Guy plays and what Mayor Bloomberg tried to do -- said he was gonna do last week in new York and outlaw soda I mean.

There's all these different measures and all on the local and state level but what's been missing in especially was noticeable Wisconsin.

Its worst President Obama -- on this why is he not Wayne and I think he.

We did some support to Scott Walker but I mean is that really what you want to be doing it to a stand with the unions going into November so.

You -- seen this happen across the country IE and it goes down -- I think you brought up earlier it's all about money its budget shortfalls and people want the United States to get back working.

Yeah the big race for the night was in San Diego where Republican councilman -- the lion O who led the charge for pension reform and is openly day.

Is likely to take the top spot and face off against represented -- bomb builder in November now they did have a Republican who turned.

Independent Nathan Fletcher but but I didn't see any numbers to support that he would even be in the running.

What are your thoughts on July oh success.

Well I think with regard to pensions specifically.

I think this is a train coming down the track.

And what we need.

Is exactly what -- alluded to leaders who are willing to grip and hold of this.

And demonstrate that they're ready to take it -- by the rain look both mr.

Obama failed to go into Wisconsin.

They're being cautious.

We've got to work together collective bargaining rights.

Are not wholly wrong the wrong when they aren't willing to be part of the shared sacrifice needed to balance a budget.

And so my point of view is this was a national became a national issue I think.

If they're willing to work on principle compromise because that's what people arguing for at least I find out across this nation -- going Republican or Democrat.

I'm disappointed in leaders.

Four years ago we thought we were working towards.

Any leadership in Washington that might -- not just hope but really the ability to work with the other side as you saw in Wisconsin.

Those words only come out at the -- and are more concerned right now about.

Wisconsin and -- go forward and I think this nation journey for that type of leadership and that person you recognize that mr.

I think in defending their principles and a positive way what actually do better in this national elections are.
