Some -- high school seniors making the decision to enlist in the military.
And serve your country rather than going to college.
But as one -- shockingly found out some schools will not honor these students at their graduation ceremonies.

Each year there are -- Valuation events and you know students are recognized and we will recognize.
On -- for various things and this seemed like something we should be recognizing.
As well since our school is named after an enlisted man.
-- how is your saying -- of course you wreck you realize that the school was going to recognize kids who are doing going into ROTC.
Who were going to college.
But not this.
Think first of all when your son told you that he wanted to enlisted in the Marines.
Well I was completely shocked it was not you know -- was expected we thought that he would go to college so this was a complete surprise.
And why did your son want to go this route.
-- what Alison I'm gonna ask for my son.
He -- things like.
Honor I he wanted to be part of something greater than himself.
Some some pretty amazing reasons.
I think kids reasons for choosing this very.
And we we had hoped to talk to your -- we should mention that he is in basic training.
Right now up fulfilling that goal of his so you -- you hooked up with this man.
-- apartment again with the organization our community salutes and now what are you hoping to bring to schools.
Well our communities.
-- mission and so to speak is to recognize the high school seniors are graduating in enlisting and their parents.

The goal is to increase.
In the number of chapters and just get this is spread across the country because this school that I.
Was my son is graduating from is not the only one that does not recognize these kids.
It's and it its nationwide.
It is a nationwide problem that in fact you are making progress I mean tell us what's changed and thus far.
Well we were fortunate enough last year we recognized eleven young men from one high school in Fairfax county Virginia.
This year we recognized nearly 100.
From the entire county and included not only the public schools but private schools and home -- students as well.
And this is a great time of year people are having graduation -- about these kids and then this is when.
We ground this is -- the organization grows.
