-- -- morning good morning breaking news overnight a member of the president Obama's cabinet cited for a felony hit and run after not one but two different car crash it's.

We're now waiting for US commerce secretary John Bryson.

And a story that will -- the political world -- a California all the way to Washington DC.

Pretty sketchy at this point there's an ongoing investigation.

And the police say the secretary Bryson was indeed involved in two separate crashes that happened just moments apart.

And that he was then found unconscious in his car and we are told that he could soon face formal charges.

So we're trying to sort through all of this -- -- -- -- live in Washington what else do we no one's -- -- building it -- thing is that San Gabriel police have ruled out alcohol and drugs as a factor in this accident not in addition.

A police officers on the scene were quoted in the local newspapers saying quote.

He was just really confused he said something to the effect I guess we better pull off a pull over and exchange information and quote.

Police also say the sixty you'll commerce secretary has a preexisting medical condition but they won't say what that it's it is not uncommon.

For these types of accidents to occur when -- motors has a stroke seizure.

What was he doing in San Gabriel and Southern California.

Well we know -- on Thursday June 7 he was giving a commencement address at Pasadena Polytechnic school -- several of his daughters went to school.

Though he now lives in Washington of course he has long made Southern California is home.

He has one previous driving infraction in 1992 for exceeding the speed limit he was -- 65 bucks in that case.

In last night's incident after he struck the first car he actually had a brief conversation with the occupants of that car and then drove off.

Instruct that same car a second time before striking another car.

When police finally rolled up on the scene he was unconscious as you said behind the wheel his office here in Washington has offered no comment.

He is potentially charged as you say with felony hit and run.
