-- -- -- -- Bill O'Reilly in the week there's a Bernie segment tonight as you may know we've been reporting that the American press firmly committed to re electing President Obama.
A new Fox News poll asked who do most members of the media want to win the election.
58% say mr.
Obama just 31% 21 I should say 21% believe.
The press favors Mitt Romney 13% of the registered voters polled are unsure.
Also give -- a Democrat and NBC broadcaster Chris Matthews recently said this.
Big networks for years had establishment liberalism as -- basis is true north that's what they are Cronkite.
And -- -- camera establishment liberal everything was.
Liberal basically good but it was appointed you and -- they laughed and Goldwater.
Cronkite mocked him with the way -- -- and it's all true.
Well mr.
-- perhaps unknowingly backs up Bernie Goldberg's book bias from ten years ago.
Mr.
Goldberg joins us now from North Carolina so we -- surprised by Matthews admission.
Pleasantly surprised.
Pleasantly he was absolutely right and what he said.
And he deserves credit I give Chris credit -- -- saying it look if we're ever gonna make progress on this media bias problem.
It's gonna take liberals to admit that there is a liberal bias of its gonna take conservatives to admit that there's a conservative bias because if we just have.
Conservatives yelling about liberal biased and liberal jelling about the other side we're not gonna get anywhere so hats off to Chris for this -- he got.
I don't think the right with a right denies on talk radio tilts.
Conservative because all the big guys that are.
Making money there are are conservative that not one liberal -- -- makes any money on on talk radio -- -- substantial money.
So that and that's provable right there have provable.
Com Fox News I I mean.
He's different from the establishment network to mr.
Matthews talking about takes a much more traditional approach.
It has conservative hosts on that that -- programs that's unheard of any other precincts never happens never has happened.
All right -- arming anybody would disagree with that and to that description.
But then when you get into the New York Times bias and then NBC and CBS and ABC in that culture there.
You what you heard the former president David Weston of ABC here when I was grilling him about pay the cultural leaders left you wouldn't it.
You would even -- Right right two things first I'm talking about.
Liberal bias and conservative bias and without going into a long song and dance I contend there -- biases on both sides.
As for David -- the former president of ABC news you're absolutely right.
He wouldn't even acknowledge what everybody this side of Neptune knows that the culture.
Of ABC news and NBC news and CB at the culture.
The institutional culture is liberal he couldn't even acknowledge.
Why and I and I know that and I was a little bit surprising all Les Moonves who runs CBS.
And and and CBS news -- he was -- -- a big Obama fund raiser in LA.
He was very say hey it's a different world now -- charges image that -- and I Arap.
So I think I think.
All of that is now now crumbling to the question then becomes.
Alright so everybody knows it anybody who denies it is not telling the truth we all know you were right ten years ago you actually got fired -- right I think we're not automatic.
-- hard time none out there you know I all right I never got fired at the -- book the island develop a treatment.
No I don't like that there yes I got yet.
The island of velvet treatment but I quit to write bias right I could write by supposed to CBS why why couldn't I have -- -- got fired.
What could you read by us -- UC -- Well what is this a serious question are you pulling my chain I'm not sure yet and depends on your answer.
Well no I mean this is a book about bias was a book about liberal bias in the media and how it worked.
And how it worked at a place that I had worked for 28 years at CBS news.
They would have I mean I mean I would've been turned up missing and and in this -- in some swamp plants -- something -- if I had been there when I wrote that -- I have good days and they would never say well we're gonna take a reprisal against Bernie Goldberg -- Bill O'Reilly whoever made me.
If they give an opinion that our operation here is is tilting left and -- NATO and I would say I mean Dan rather hear him say last week.
And that they you know are there crazy there's no liberal bias and and and you know we we used David West and isn't it better examples camera still run around Sanders -- any liberal bias.
I'm not sure why I -- and I don't think rather.
Goes on -- television shows and says I'm gonna lie.
I think he's taught himself into it is absolutely true absolutely if you -- Dan rather up to a lie detector machine it said.
Is there a liberal bias when you're the anchorman of the CBS evening news he would say no and the needle wouldn't budge.
I mean he's not lying he's delusional.
And Cronkite.
Cronkite admitted Cronkite admitted you know after after I wrote bias somebody asked Cronkite about it and he admitted there was a liberal bias.
But he said it was because journalists saw.
The underside of -- they covered the courts they saw the downtrodden the -- And they tended to be liberal.
As a result we're Cronkite led his liberalism.
Affect things in a bad way is Cronkite.
Went to senator Robert Kennedy.
And urged him to run for president against Lyndon Johnson in the democratic primaries.
First of -- you can't encourage somebody to run for president.
You know he can't do that right and secondly you can't do that and then pretend you had nothing to Google.
With his deciding to run for president that's -- Cronkite liberalism.
Induced him to cross the line.
