-- president message for America can get yourself.

So what does he mean by that he's not -- said in an online segment of the show.

Would have been better if the country just got over this notion of American exceptional isn't so I think it would.

-- -- -- -- By the way this is one reason why I say and people laugh -- me but I would say in a hundred years this country will be Mormon.

It's a stupid religion and a stupid country they were made for each other.

-- tell you.

-- that things Americans are gonna love about -- -- -- they find out about it is that personal Jesus and American.

It is an American and -- medicine.

And they love the idea that what that mormons embraced more than anybody that we are the super duper star spangled best country -- And if we have any flaw it's that we make other countries feel bad because our -- this is so overwhelmed yeah.

Data from trying to astounded does turn red Bill Maher had to say about -- -- -- two topics one is the issue except -- exceptional -- and the United States tell me your -- response to him.

Well I have a lot of responses.

Exceptional as some can be wonderful I wish we were exceptional we'd like to be exception I think we can be exceptional again.

And I expect that is.

Mitt Romney becomes president I think we really should be an exceptional country and we should beat.

When he mentioned just a fact that were stupid country I assume he's talking about.

How Obama is running it because we have become a country that is not very well respected and in many ways is stupid when you look at what's happening with -- OPEC.

When you look at what's happening with China the way they just stripping our money from us like we're babies.

We are really becoming a stupid country I know that's not the way he meant to it.

But yeah I guess I would take it differently that's the way Obama is running the country.

Yeah I know a lot of people are upset by Bill Maher say in this and you know I'm I'm a little bit.

-- curious by that I mean he's a stand up comic no one thinks he's making some -- following the announcement about the direction of foreign policy.

If you were to look at the United States in terms except socialism I know that you take issue with -- how the Obama administration's run the country but in general of the United States has been providing aid in so many different sectors across every single continent in the world we do iron culture economic education women's rights human trafficking.

Water and sanitation earthquake tsunami -- prices -- We -- -- we do take the lead in so many thanks so that while you know there's ads and Summers in -- we're not as exceptional as we have been before we are nonetheless quite exceptional as a country.

Well and it's also laid that this country can't afford we're giving aid to others that we really can't afford do you look at us and we're up to sixteen trillion in debt we're borrowing from the Chinese and others and it's just stayed dead.

We should probably in many cases not -- we give aid to some people -- can't stand doesn't go around today.

Take advantage of us stupidly for us but they take advantage in this country but it's you know again it's -- dead in many cases that -- much we can't afford.

Well I have not read but that's a slightly different issues how we -- exercise -- exceptional -- That you know there's a great debate whether which we give it a particular amount to a particular country for something.

But nonetheless is said you know at the core of this is a United States.

Does -- some exceptional in the sense that you know we have tape we have a willingness to try to make the world better and we -- mean an end to end and sometimes he would try our very protect personal detriment.

Well I think that's great and in the past it was great what we were rich country -- a rich country anymore I mean a lot of dead politicians have seen to it that would not rich and when you're not rich what you don't have money when you have to go out and borrow the money we can't afford to be doing what we're doing we're doing so many different things -- giving -- -- Countries that last put us behind our back didn't even -- at a store -- So because there are many many things that we can be doing much -- likes to -- potential of our country is so enormous but we are doing things that.

Are just being left dead and Scott's -- Try to talk about laughing and more the controversy about Bill -- And -- let me repeat he is a you know standup comic -- does satire.

-- hit his whole thing it is comedy but one of the things he says as he says he refers to -- -- in the the religion of the Republican nominee.

As sad as being stupid and that is just old fashioned bigotry and it knows your thoughts and there -- you know he's laughing now that he's got the crowd laughing -- and your thoughts on that.

Well it's tough stuff I mean when you say that -- -- -- but that's really not funny and frankly it's amazing and -- the other side referred to somebody else's religion.

As an example of some nice conservative Republicans -- something about.

Another religion I won't even say which one but let's say another religion.

There would be held -- they'll be up front page of every newspaper tomorrow it is something -- is hardly being covered although you are covering it but it's hardly being covered.

But attention is -- in the when the crowd -- so hard to clean up people oftentimes don't realize they're being -- have to get people -- -- the -- of them believe other -- -- ask.

Well I know Bill -- he's doing his thing and he's having a good time doing it and he's doing well -- but I guess but it's a tough statement and frankly if somebody else made that statement.

And certainly it's a conservative Republican -- -- like statement.

About somebody else's religion should be held -- -- you'll be all over the place it would be -- and -- that person's career and you know it.

I returned another subject -- last week the president said.

And that one's been nonstop and all over -- about that she says in part he says the private sector is doing fine.

I'm -- I think the president is thinking today about what it when he said about what he said.

Well he's getting hit very -- of that statement because people even his own people in his own supporters are saying what are you doing what are -- saying you're calling it a big gap major gaps.

I've heard some people saying it's separate shattering I don't think it is earth shattering but it was certainly a mistake they made him saying it because it's not doing well -- -- point -- but the eight point two unemployment is not a real number.

The real numbers fifteen or 16%.

Some people say it's 41%.

But the real number you know they each.

Really get up so that you have the best of all worlds you're looking for a job you stop looking for the job -- they take you out of dispatched.

And it just doesn't work that way -- the real numbers just -- 16%.

Could be what it was -- that's not doing fine and he's taken a lot of heat for that frankly.

I listened to it and what I heard it I was surprised I was surprised by the statements but in his own groups -- really picked it up and they didn't like -- Get a lot of -- Isn't the man ER is it and yeah of course is something that he intended to say something that his no economic philosophy I music economy and we -- -- they're winning and losing it.

Mean is it isn't part of his economic ideology.

Or is that something that it was just simply a misstatement.

And any regrets today adding to -- stick cleared up.

Well I really watched I was watching as he made it and frankly I think it was a gap because his body language is just very confused and very confusing after -- made the statement.

I don't think he felt good about this they've been Astrid made it.

And he would like to have taken -- back so I think it was a guess absolute.

I mean you -- -- tween favorite busy tweeting today.

And one of the things that you mentioned you said is another Barack Obama credit downgrade -- and east did in part.

Do you fear at credit downgrade come -- what did you mean by that.

Well we're going up to sixteen trillion very soon and it's going to be a lot higher than that before he gets finished and when you have in the twenties and 2122.

Trillion dollars.

-- talking about it downgrade no matter how you -- -- something has to be done do you have to cut the debt you can't keep going like it's.

We're gonna be a large scale version of Spain or agree sort anyone have a number of countries that are doing very very badly and it's.

So let's see what happens in terms of recession a recession maybe a nice word.

I just closed -- Doral -- -- at Doral in Miami which is a big.

A big deal a big.

Fantastic piece of land in Miami with the hotel units and golf course is is very important thing and I'm doing got to put a lot of people to work I'm very proud of -- I think it's going to be an amazing place an amazing resort but I want to keep this country do well so everything does well and right now frankly.

The country isn't doing well enterprise -- play pages actually reflective of that.

Try one last question that one of the tweets today and because you -- me am extremely successful -- -- apprentice let me -- his.

It says when your tweets CNN and MSNBC need big help in the race.

I can tell them where they're going wrong I'm curious.

What is what is it that you think that they are doing and where they're quote going wrong.

Well they are really wrong and they are really doing badly -- by the way you folks are doing very well I'm very proud of view but they are really doing badly and honestly I would say do you.

And I certainly wouldn't say it publicly -- so publicly but.

If they probably I would certainly give them ideas that would be a lot better than what they're doing right now there's there's so far off MSNBC.

Is so far off and CNN is so far off.

And it's actually sad to see if I mean -- -- What would you just be like she's not just ever dress did you ever get my slot right now I'm pictures we -- tip.

Well I give it to I don't wanna do much better I don't know what.

I know some of the people over there actually know the people at MSNBC.

In terms of the top people because.

I have the apprentice on NBC and I know very well that I have a lot of respect it's.

Should they called me I would certainly give them ideas that would be a lot better than what apple announced -- frankly you have to do is watched.

MSNBC.

That you can pretty much -- could be a seven year old child and tell them what they're doing wrong it's pretty pathetic.

Is the appetite for the news change your people sick of politics when they finish.

Well I think their politics are wrong I think their politics in many cases of their perceived as being very dishonest and therefore people aren't trusting they don't believe.

Hillary didn't just so you just don't agree with.

No it's not that I think people are trusting him and I think when they don't trust I don't watch you know -- had a great Walter Cronkite.

When you watched -- -- trusted him it was like your spot there.

And I'll never forget -- it to me he was the ultimate -- Edward.

He was something special you watched him you'd trust -- -- believed did them and therefore you watched.

Would -- like MSNBC.

I don't think people believe it I think people look at what they're saying they don't.

At all levity confidence and -- -- what they don't watch.

But isn't there room for cinema diverse opinion on all sorts of issues and other political Greg is not I mean the facts -- -- facts rather they have but I mean a lot of the political discussion.

Aiming this -- -- just to have sort of they are diverse argument to battered the -- to -- debate.

Diversity is great -- debate is absolutely fantastic but.

You have to be believable on both sides and in certain cases they're not believable.

I don't thank you very much for joining us okay thank you Greta.
