Yeah yeah.

Hello welcome to -- log on document at an age when most kids are -- about starting your high.

Professional surfer Bethany Hamilton was overcoming challenges most of us can't even imagine.

She's here with orthodontist David Seligman.

To call us about how she got her confidence back thank you so much for being here -- adding that's.

Listen you I think you're an idol to many people you have inspired a lot of young woman including my daughter.

But you started surfing at the age of four.

Hi how do you go from surfing at the -- -- -- what inspired to do that.

Well I mean technically am taping amendment is and this all family -- -- there.

Yet others will enjoy deliver babies -- living.

You remember that line.

Yeah and we discovered the -- it's -- -- -- -- being in the lot and so do the ocean was like a natural part of your life yeah in there that -- planning to -- the -- playing the same group.

But there you don't act and at thirteen you were ready winning a lot of awards.

But then you like change.

-- A little bit about that.

Not so I've been seeing really -- it means and was looking for their professional tree and the PTA and and then at eighteen and us and to Shaq and let kind of just came bill hall and means dramatically and yeah I mean most people thought I'd quit -- and that they mean.

-- you know I mean within a month you went back in the water I think yep that's it and -- it but if you had to do you know I mean the the mound of I think.

Emotional powered to -- go through that challenge.

And say you know what this is not gonna stop me I'm still gonna serve.

You know you still winning awards.

Not afraid of the water a lot of people would have become afraid of the what do you do you didn't do that.

Now.

There's a nice movie then -- seen a couple of times myself.

It is constantly being played in my home because on my daughter Olivia.

Has seen it many times which is soul surfer and -- you -- in the big screen at least -- live was being portrayed in the big screen.

How did that make you feel.

Yeah yeah I mean it's amazing and civility this and -- that god is that in my life and Davis also -- and it's in this really cool Lucy hi it's impacted so many people like -- daughter and in me you know young aides and it's just an honor -- to -- -- this and manage the people and yet spin on them right.

Well -- -- -- -- to talk about something else because you know you're a beautiful young woman.

And you have a beautiful smile.

Look at that smile I -- -- -- you know my teeth and -- and go there.

But there's figured it would doctor Seligman who is an orthodontist in Europe and as a and this is a new technology uses -- -- -- technology that that you are sort of you know telling letting everybody know that is out there.

What why did you get in the bandwagon.

Yeah well when I was fourteen.

And had been my books -- -- and seeing a lot of media and I I could.

I think who eventually became an orthodontist.

Inducted -- really contacted my family and and at a time knowing it could be had a fight it -- and -- They offered bases to me and make -- in and -- news.

Damon -- -- that type of races that they used night.

And yes and now I have it -- that and it just built my confidence and and analysts and.

Now they you do you don't need a lot of -- don't you got that in internally you're had been anyway.

Let me has got to -- This system what is it how was a different from the traditional braces.

And it's and it's -- in question and really we get asked that.

Quite a bit and we're dame and the -- -- system really has its strong point.

Is many ways first really cuts down on treatment time.

So people who go through Damon races tend to Wear braces for a shorter period of time so what typically what's than -- I would say that video is here about well let's say between.

Fifteen and 24 months -- -- months maybe about average.

So can cut down up to six months of treatment time.

And we have research to back that up and other -- comfort I think comfort is huge.

Plus to the -- -- system there.

Highly polished and smooth contoured and that really makes very much better experience.

Everything is -- longer in a -- intervals between visits to someone like Bethany yeah busy -- professional woman you know we even when you were going through your surfing.

I was so -- at the time and lake Allen had to give you treatments and and to offer me now one of the things that I read about the system at the -- It's less painful definitely.

And you don't have to Wear the blue rubber bands them.

Which I would say you know rubber bands can be part of it's -- -- -- but though that there -- need for them as less.

And another thing that really is a huge plus about it is there's less need for -- Permanent -- people are expanded at a Pallet expander and the need for headgear so those are also some other huge advantages -- -- now for you.

That you found that it -- the convenience of they do really like the other aspects that the doc and I talked about.

Antenna all of the above -- this -- -- very comfortable.

And that there at fourteen that -- like a little bit nervous and apprehensive.

As a maintenance of you know cleaning braces and the little brushes and all that and it seems of the system.

It's easier to maintain.

Definitely innovative maintain and then of course like GA -- and then less and yet so let's time in between and yeah I'd really like we were you like nagging your parents what do you of them are gonna come off that we you nagging them I've -- -- in Iraq -- pivotal being -- -- like having my business you're a typical teenager I don't know about that.

-- for more information that we can log on to Damon braces dot com right.

And be sure to keep up -- Bethany at Bethany Hamilton dot com.

You get all the information you can finer what's the next Friday for you what are you -- I I have a lot -- on.

Yeah just in delaying the Arctic and looking -- to discontinue my professional sipping tea and traveling and that's that money.

-- good all right thank you so much both for being here.

And if you have any health question you can email the other fox adopt an -- -- not come until next time I'm document.
