Or -- a new study.

Says that there are a lot of challenges.

For the children of gay.

Parents there has been theory for awhile that there is really no difference between the outcomes.

Of children who are raised by male and female parents vs those who were raised.

Bye gay parents are however there is apparently a new study the -- this -- question in doctor keep tableau of our Fox News medically team.

Joins us now to talk about this and as you can see he's got an article about it right now on foxnews.com.

Itself doctor -- -- -- So what does -- to say.

-- the study says two things in this journal social science research and esteemed journal.

One paper.

Asserts that the prior studies which led the American Psychological Association 2005.

Two the the purveyor of this -- differences theory listen.

Couple in which one of the members is homosexual or both.

Their children fare no -- and no better.

Then heterosexual parents.

Those studies are found to be lacking their small samples and the analysis of them by this researcher and published by this journal says.

Really that statement should have been made by the American Psychological Association it's not based in science.

Then there's sister or brother article in this journal that tested about 3000.

Adults aged eighteen to 39.

And looked at how have they feared in life.

If they either came from a an intact family.

Two -- heterosexual parents.

Or other constellations like a divorced family or if they knew that one of their parents.

Had had a key relationship.

So with just that just that knowledge.

Leads to some.

Unfortunate.

Challenges for those kids and it it really calls for further research because if you're a kid who grows up knowing that one of your parents.

Has had a cookie relationship.

You are more likely to be depressed.

You're more likely to be arrested.

You were more likely to contemplate suicide.

You are 1000%.

More likely to say in adulthood that you were abused.

Sexually.

As a child.

And these are concerning.

Data then have to be investigated and I know how controversial it is but as a as a doctor -- -- -- cares about science you can't dismiss numbers.

They come across as compellingly as -- -- -- just back to a permanent because you said that the study also included.

Children of divorced parents.

Mean gore yes that's correct so he's not just -- children of gay.

Iraq with the group that did the worst and was in fact that the group identified as those who knew that one of their parents.

Had had a gay relationship.

So if they are possessed of that knowledge.

Presumably while growing up and then at eighteen to 39 they're studied.

Having a parent who is known to be.

Either bisexual.

Or gay.

Limits.

There -- economic success it's teams in this study.

It limits their ability to say that they're happy with their lives it limits their relationship success.

And I think most concerning.

It suggests in those.

Families in which one of the children says I know my mother to have had a lesbian relationship but there's a 1000%.

Increase in the possibility that -- Young women grown to adults will say as a young person I was touched inappropriately or forced into a sexual encounter in my home.

By a significant person in my life.

Now that's you know -- ten times increase from 3% to 31%.

Of those young women say I was subjected.

To this horrible abuse.

I think we get a look more erratic and it's such a controversial thing negative to it hesitate to write the law right -- Everything I'll do it -- -- hotel I get threats get Brett people come -- they're gonna come in my office they're gonna burn down my house citing its incredible study by -- know the C in this politically.

Correct.

And -- environment.

Citing data doesn't seem.

To be compelling enough.

A lot of hatred.

Yeah are there other explanations for some of the factors here for example.

Many children of a gay couple.

You know one of the might be the biological parents or neither very often their adopted.

Or if flat you know one of the parents was biologically other one is not -- of same sex that they had to be someone else in the mix there.

Is that it does the adoption factor or that.

Does that play into this -- all contribute to that that might have nothing to do with the sexual orientation of the parents but rather other factors.

Well children adopted by strangers.

Did better than the children.

Individuals known to be gay children.

Living with a step parent did better.

Then children.

Couples in which one of them partners is known to be get what they didn't look at is look if these couples were allowed to marry.

If we were to wipe out all stigma.

Associated with.

Gay adults and say we're -- it and really make it equal rom would would that.

Since these kids are eighteen to 39 now right would that level the playing field are we looking at ineffective stigma that's a good and that's up to interpretation and -- we.

Have -- comment from.

-- for jury who says that kids will tease kids over anything if the parents are gay or lesbian.

You have just one more thing the kids will tease them that's kind of the point that they you're just making -- -- that factor will that.

It's true.

That is true and as a psychiatrist.

I'm concerned about that the -- factor it's also the case.

That if you grow up and from the beginning of your life right even if -- adopted at age one and two.

And three right you are very unlikely to know that fact so you look at your.

Dad and mom -- say well it looks like we're family unit I must've come from them some yeah now you couldn't possibly conclude that.

If your parents are same gender right.

Because that would be not possible -- -- -- there were artificial insemination.

Or.

A surrogate -- carrying the child.

And so that knowledge we should really look at that what does that mean if a child grows up in a household where they are possessed of the certain knowledge.

I cannot have come from those folks don't.

Does that.

Impact them at all in -- ways what does it mean and why is there a tenfold increase now in sexual abuse.

As reported by these people -- -- what's going on here yeah.

-- welded the -- are going wild -- are resistant to them.

Brian Conway says thinking the other person and several other children can be cruel kids in school ridiculing the -- yeah parents computer unable.

And then Charles -- says I believe children in the same sex home are faced with confusion such -- -- our children created.

Because homosexuals are unable to procreate nationally the rules of one point made -- fun.

We thought what's -- things that people will want to dismiss this data because it's uncomfortable and that's where the scientists should come in and say we're gonna look at it.

Will report the facts and -- you folks make of that what you will.

Yeah a lot a lot of questions and you know we'll see her with this goes but certainly interesting all right Doug Doctor -- I don't -- -- thank -- joining us and again his article.

Is on the web -- foxnews.com and there's his.

Own web page which is keep tablet outcome simple enough.
