-- we're -- getting the distress calls that were sent from the yacht that was reportedly on fire and sinking seventeen miles off of the New Jersey coast.
-- this story Coast Guard now says -- this emergency.
Actually turned out to be a hoax and that it cost taxpayers some 300000.
Dollars to respond to this.
For emergency personnel.
-- two.
Lots -- person I should say they were racing to the sandy hook site.
In New Jersey they believed that dozens of wives were in danger.
During that it what they thought was emergency lessons -- -- I want one -- -- came in on Monday.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- I've been here we've had an explosion onboard that boat they don't clutter out and about three of them have been a lot of respect.
Think it's.
We have 21 souls on board.
Plenty of the water right now.
I have previously -- -- -- an injured because of the explosion we've had.
I meant everything to water on the bridge government they've by the -- -- like everybody happy school board.
This call so let's bring in -- legal man he's a maritime attorney.
Mike I mean clearly for that phone call this is somebody who knows the water.
Understands boating.
You know and -- voice is so clear you know what I mean thoughts as anybody who knows this person who perpetrated this hoax is gonna know instantly that that's them.
What you would hope so certainly I mean an -- and the level -- was definitely clear.
And I thought and a little bit alarming how come the person sounded as if this person's in -- people are dead people are burned you would perhaps expect to hear a little bit more of of fear in the voice.
I actually went back and listen to the concordia tapes of the captain and that -- had a terribly frenetic sort of person on one end in in Italy and then is very calm cool collected person on the other end.
Which you know look -- hindsight is 21 union and you would you would perhaps suspect something at that point.
300000 dollars spent on this this effort.
To find this Bernie yacht in the middle of the ocean that simply was not there at the end.
Does that seem.
Like a high number to you and what do you think this what is scenarios what was this person up to.
That that's certainly the highest number that I've ever seen in in the research that I've done typically -- -- -- range of about 50000 to a 100000.
But the reason for that is very simple because of the location of the call off the coast of New Jersey.
It immediately implicated the Coast Guard and the new York and New Jersey both fire and police departments as well as emergency response teams from different hospitals so you have this massive force really just sort of a geo graphical happenstance and of where it happened to be.
But no I've never seen an amber this time put in terms of a possible theories look I'm not involved in the investigation -- like that it felt like you know.
And yes to break it or it will talks about I'm inside thank you very much my equipment terrific.
