He didn't write his memoirs so.

This really it is in a sort of a document for history.

Did you feel that responsibility of of telling his story and and how to -- that kind of weigh on you.

At that moment -- when you have that opportunity to really get and then tell the story.

Well I think the number one thing is that we were able to have is no for the first time in history that the opportunity to have a president of the United States.

Sit down to tell a story in his own words about his life.

And that alone is very.

Fascinating thing because.

We're -- worried about shaping history because the film is about his life and we're not here to you know go in depth about the president's.

So that's probably for somebody else.

But our goal was let people understand and to get to know him to see what makes him tick he would make some emotional what makes him have a great sense of humor.

They -- you talk about his humility and -- thing that always strikes me.

When you listen to George H.

W.

Bush she is a humble man that's an important value for him you can tell to maintain that.

But you talk about the personal side and we want to play another piece from the movies that is very personal.

About the great love story that that is Barbara and George H.

W.

Bush -- us in the -- I was at a holiday dance.

Here is is beautiful girl.

The life of the party and dancing and smiling and consider who is -- Barbara perish ride.

Some have -- up my nerve to ask her to dance.

And -- -- playing alongside him.

He really does not shy away from expressing himself -- all.

Now he sort of wears his emotion on his sleeve and I think that -- and that's what makes -- real.

-- a little bit about his relationship with Barbara and what it was like you've gotten to know them -- the course of this project.

What do you think of that and what did you what surprised you about.

Well I think you know there they have a great family and I think the biggest thing is just their family.

How big it is I mean I have a small -- difficult to get rid together we do every is arguing.

But they have such a huge family and they all congregate back -- this place call Walker's point.

And where they all this wanna be I'm sure they have their own personal problems but they love being together.

And the significance of that place of Walker's point at which I have seen and it's it's a stunning spot out on a -- and -- in Kennebunkport.

Me and you know how how much how meaningful is that -- to him and his life.

I think it's for his -- it's.

The water the -- the home the kids everything and I think that's just where he's most relaxed.

And he said in the piece that that he says he can still out about he can't do all the things that he used to -- to do but that he he likes to drive and take out -- Will we -- in -- you nationally and I.

How is that it's very difficult going seven miles an hour down the Atlanta holding a camera.

I've edited it looks like you managed to keep it pretty steady it -- He's 88 years old and you know -- -- -- of his legs his wife has has talked about that.

You know how do you how special is it that you were able to sort of capture this at you know this at this point in his life.

Well I think because.

It took us.

Two years to make and because he's a moving target and that we you know it's not like he could sit down do this all within a week right and so because of that the film was able to breathe and when I mean by that is.

You see him in the beginning of the film.

He's walking but with a cane and -- in at the end he shows back up at the White House in a wheelchair and have we done this all at once there's no way we would have that perspective in the film.

Most beautifully done and with a for CNN to bring up thank you very much for -- part of the story with us and that we'll look forward to -- it airs.
