Com live a group of five Latino women right now are on a hunger strike in Chicago they are demanding organ transplants for undocumented immigrants who don't have.
Health insurance in the -- -- an article about this on our website right now foxnews.com and joining us now to talk about it is.
-- -- -- Hey everybody had this really frightening story because these -- women are putting their whole lives and the rest their own.
Health at risk really because they -- for nine days.
A one of the women was actually transferred to a hospital and treated by doctors -- said that she was us.
Complaining of severe abdominal cramping.
That's what happens and apparently it turns out -- very low potassium levels the reason these five women are taking a stance for illegal immigrants in need of organ transplant that don't have.
Health insurance is comfort come in this country.
Specifically is because of their own personal.
Dilemma they have three Brothers actually that desperately need kidney transplants and they've been not treated at two different Chicago area hospitals.
That actually do kidney transplants.
The group of women consist of five Latinos as you -- is demanding organ transplants for undocumented immigrants.
The women themselves are our.
Are being treated by paramedics they're conducting that the strike interestingly enough at our lady.
Of Guadeloupe -- Anglican mission church in fact -- pastor the reverend is even taking part.
It is demonstration.
One of the women as I mentioned was taken at a hospital.
Two other hunger strikers also showing signs of having health complications.
And according to one of the striker so far there has been no response from authorities at loyal -- university medical center and the University of Illinois Chicago -- medical center.
And I'm quoting them I think nobody wants to quickly hunger strike over gonna go until the -- around.
It is interesting to note that they do a bit of good news they call it that they're going to be visited by the medical chief of -- hospital which is the only medical center in Chicago.
That performs transplants on undocumented.
Immigrants at a cost of between a 10200000.
Dollars wow.
So hated it you know there's an argument be made that you know if you're an illegal immigrants should you be.
-- I will because it really is -- -- Brian organ donor.
You know two to transplant.
And organ into your body when there are so many other people on these donor lists as you know why we're documented citizens and -- health insurance with the health insurance companies.
It's very very tricky.
I'm slowly and I would imagine if that has -- the questions and everyone on that list is desperate and I would guess that there are people who are documented does citizens.
Who are saying why should my take priority.
Why should this person -- -- -- these three Brothers take priority over someone else who has been waiting on the list is a legal citizen and also has.
Health insurance and obviously the health insurance.
Companies that.
The hospitals are gonna want to treat those with health insurance obviously before because -- hospital costs health insurance companies at this point are already very very frugal when it comes to reimbursing hospitals so.
Hospitals have a lot to lose financially and -- one hospital spends between 200000 dollars.
Per transplant for these undocumented citizens what brings up a lot of issues regarding.
You know health insurance in this company in this country as well because there are a lot of innocent young children without health insurance to which -- I would imagine.
There are probably children out there that are in need of organ transplants as well.
Yeah so how far these women -- -- hunger striking prepared to go nine days already a long way.
Yeah I mean they they did it for for about a week and then this Monday that one woman was hospitalized and a couple other women were we're suffering out.
Of of of complications but they have not stopped I mean how long they go I mean the doctors are saying that if they persist this that they can really put their own health at risk they say.
They're gonna go until the bitter end I don't know exactly what they mean by that but having the chief of this one hospital come visit them perhaps -- some kind of sign that you know they don't.
He doesn't want to see them put their own lives at risk but it could also said it really terrible precedent for a lot of other.
Illegals who who see this and say all we have to do is go on hunger strike.
And we get around the top the list organ transplants that's not fair for all those that have been patiently waiting.
I'll flash -- -- -- -- -- around the the lack of organs and the number of people waiting for via lifesaving -- so this just puts it you know further stress on on the hospitals as well so Fox News Latino dot com.
And is where you can find the end the rest of that article I'm sorry because of foxnews.com before but it is Fox News Latino dot com yeah once again Julie -- -- you so much Sharon is joining us today YouTube.
