Is a -- in trouble.
Look I think any president who's trying to -- would get this country back on its feet.
Economically.
Is gonna have a lot of folks.
Saying what lies in moving to -- larger and you know weren't -- -- down 4% unemployment that kind of stuff and and so.
You have to deal the other hand electing Romney who frankly you know as a fraud I mean.
We heard this stuff from him when he was elected governor he was a business guy -- the economy is gonna turn things around here.
And he was a disaster -- -- we have one of the worst economic -- from a country.
The State's infrastructure was a wreck when he left office.
And we know that I mean there's a reason why.
Romney's 25 points behind Obama investors as a result -- -- issues down -- -- democratic states you know where we are certainly we were both Reagan twice Wii Fit for Republican governors that we -- -- Scott -- It's just the people -- action here and having had to watch them they just don't like about me he could have been re elected on the best.
Well he's not even talking about his record is -- -- -- -- event Bain Capital but -- what he did is.
The governor who presided over the 47 state when it comes to job period.
Not only that.
You know.
Develop -- current -- just run rings around the -- now fifth in the country and job growth that's from 47 different.
Thank you changing governors and the infrastructure -- it was just unbelievable.
Rusting bridges pothole roads couldn't get anything done.
It was really unbelievable.
And this a guy who now says he's going -- transform the nation's economy essentially.
By doing what bush did I mean as she is Clinton says it wants to do that steroids so.
Electing Romney did -- Richardson -- work.
Spark the economy is -- have.
Why am I am I getting the sense that that message isn't really getting across.
We'll get -- it'll get through but you the president and all of us who.
Believe strongly that we re elected and have experienced Romney in action have got to make sure -- people understand that we've got to take that message across country.
What about Romney care is that.
Indeed very much like obamacare and -- -- run away from that.
I don't know I don't know but even toward the end of that whole legislative battle.
He scattered running away from it and I don't know why I mean when it came to the individual mandate you know.
-- was eloquent and so you -- by the way right and you can.
Have.
-- health care system that provides decent affordable health care the working people and their families and by the way does -- -- the folks aren't sure.
Yeah welfare program.
This is an effort to make sure that working people and their families this country have decent -- health care about fifty million don't.
But you can't have that unless we all participate.
And that's.
We knew -- when he was governor he seems not to know that now.
-- nobody knew he was.
He was outspoken on the issue at a time -- was right so why you're running away from well.
Because this is -- guy -- will do virtually anything.
If you think you'll get a vote I mean that's just the sad fact of the matter and I hate to say this because.
That was a great admirer of his debts.
No matter of fact of the truth be known I courted kitty.
The little yellow -- That's American motors -- George Romney -- -- around -- the only guy that tried making a small fuel efficient -- -- -- time he was supplying governor he was a terrific secretary of housing and urban development by the way agencies as some want to abolish.
And I thought we were getting a junior version of his father what we turned out to get was incompetent governor a terrible economic record.
And now guys that.
Will twist themselves into a pretzel.
If he thinks it'll benefit him and it's it's really just.
Very disappointment it's sad to see he should be up this saying hey.
I was the guy that led the effort to make it possible for nagging and have percent of people -- usually a decent affordable health -- and he just won't do this.
Do you know him well at all.
Not terribly well not terribly well I mean we connected I tried there.
Get him to do one or two things and economic development -- the fact that would be extremely helpful and he did not say.
So wide and spent much time working -- them and and too much for reported doing so I must say -- -- people on the health care bill reached out.
-- into the process.
It's an issue you know that I feel very strongly about have been deeply involved in for a long time.
And bad score all right I'm very positive but.
What -- -- supporting is that having done that and having at least helped.
To make it possible for the states be the ones that the countries that provide its decent affordable healthcare for virtually all of its people.
To watch this guy run away from this is.
Really -- it's just.
The -- if you're if you're going to be in public -- that seems to me you've got to live with yourself.
We -- -- with the governor Michael Dukakis of Massachusetts let me a couple of people call and let me see if I get a call in here -- Stephen Orlando a -- state.
-- governor behind.
The curtain the time of governor Scott it's -- -- being -- aren't here.
Bet governor Romney of Massachusetts -- two billion dollar really be on unemployment was four point 54 point 7%.
Bill that would be cheap eats.
Then what you just so you miss Levy or incorrect social media perceive you -- just been in a and doctors streets.
Yet this GOP is from with the numbers.
And has been backed up.
But that by well there we.
So are what about that claim by governor that there was a rainy day fund lots of money -- it that he was the between four and fives and when it comes to unemployment.
That is what the run run the campaign.
Numbers don't lie and they've got to be kidding.
We were 47.
Out of fiftieth in job creation underground and be only three states.
That did worse now we're Michigan for obvious reasons.
Ohio right -- operations and Louisiana after Katrina.
Yeah Massachusetts was 47 that they were -- They got to be getting in on this on the question -- what he did the State's infrastructure especially -- transportation system which rewards for us.
It really what you wrecked completely it'll take eight years of about Patrick to -- -- -- record -- get us back on track and he's doing so that's the reality.
-- and there's no way that they get around it.
War or suggests that.
It was better it just it was a dismal dismal performance.
Let me thank Steve for the call what advice would you have and only those -- -- like yourself a bit in the trenches and who really understand what it's like to run a presidential campaign.
What advice would you have from President Obama.
Well given my performance in 88 amateur.
But actually -- you're in a rare.
You're that rarefied air people who made it to that point you've you've learned probably a great deal you and I've spoken a couple of glad you've learned a great deal since -- -- about or having gone through that.
Well so what I think he's done -- -- the job the very difficult circumstances this country was going right over the cliff when he took over.
Mean we came very close to plunging to a great depression and stop that.
And turned it around.
And the fact that our progress is slow that he would have liked or I would like to somebody else -- -- -- Doesn't in any way detract from that what he's facing a lot of issues including by the way.
Issues in Europe.
Where exactly the kinds of policies that run -- the Republicans are proposing.
A wrecking bad economy is I think we know now.
Why anyone would espouse those kinds of policies after what we've seen happening in Europe is behind me but this president has worked hard.
-- a lot better shape we were only took office I think he will have an excellent second term.
-- just got to keep working -- -- but.
In the meantime he's got to drive and doing it this contrast between them.
What he's done and what this guy that's run against him didn't do and nobody knows that story better and the people of Massachusetts.
Are you you certainly are familiar with Greece -- -- your heritage -- people keepsake you know gonna become like -- which certainly is not the case at all.
Well in point of fact the thing I mean apart from from Greece's own problems and they created a lot of -- needless to say.
To impose Herbert Hoover economics.
On Greece or Spain or Ireland.
Makes absolutely no sense at all austerity never got anybody out of recession.
And that's the kind of policy that the EU was supplied I think do very badly and it's got a policy -- money than Republicans want to.
Get back to know why they would do that is beyond me but it's another reason why we just don't want the scandalous.
-- governor I appreciate the opportunity talked to tonight thank you so much coming on the program and appreciate which -- is you know thank -- -- --
