And and that's a politics to one of my favorite people Judy Miller's here -- a Fox News contributor.
You're talking this morning about some of the coverage that's out there specifically.
What are you pointing a finger at this morning what we're looking at now that -- be amazing.
Kind of it's flood of stories all the sudden about how President Obama is quote -- handling foreign policy that seems to be the new mean that the day.
-- Syria is exploding.
The Russian reset button.
I don't know maybe they forgot to -- push it or it's not working or the -- have stopped.
Listening or watching for that button but nothing seems to be working in Syria.
And the Obama administration is being blind.
And if so what -- you take issue with in terms of the coverage well I think could it -- coverage is pretty good because these issues are very complicated.
But I think.
One assumption on the part of the media seems to be.
That America is on the president on the present -- omnipotent.
You know we can do anything we can solve any problem.
I think part of the problem is when you get to foreign policy challenges like Syria he suddenly realized the limits of American power.
And especially because we are not.
Anywhere in the neighborhood at the moment.
You know President Obama had what I call and we've talked about it expectation -- it.
And that is we've pulled our troops out of Iraq they're Nomar -- or that forces there.
Iraq is right next to Syria arguably.
If American forces -- next to -- -- you might have more leverage that's what John Bolton and others have been.
Writing in the national review and national review online.
But without any kind of muscle.
All you have in your pocket as Bolton wrote this morning and the national review is a white handkerchief.
And that doesn't seem to get anybody's attention in the region -- -- this theory -- yeah.
A lot of voices you've got the former ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton talking in his Fox News contributor this that you had.
So Colin Powell right talking about Syria.
Yes that's -- you've got you've got people talk about this so.
What does that mean just in terms of the coverage I think what's happening is when you have thirteen thousand people slaughtered.
Since last march and yet they update they revised that number upwards from the line over the weekend when reporting on fox report attention must be -- and I think it's understandable.
And it's accurate to say that made no.
The Arab League everybody who's tried to solve this problem pass hasn't hasn't done it.
But whether or not that's Obama's fault here's the good news for the Obama administration.
As terrible as this isn't as awful as it is if you care about the Middle East.
Americans are focused on the economy.
They -- focused on here and now the jobs report.
What it means for them.
And therefore they're not paying attention to foreign policy in part because.
Of the president's expectation -- we're not there and it's not American soldiers.
Who are -- so would say -- guys like Senator John McCain of Arizona who thinks that you know earlier on this administration didn't.
Do you what it was supposed to do with regard to Syria.
You know I think it's easy it is stand back and and look at all of the Arab Spring countries and say well we just had to do.
What you.
What we did in in Libya but they're very -- but they're very different.
And I can let me it technically is not in the Middle East it's on the African continent.
Nothing exciting about this don't even know pretending that I do I've been there are having -- around there and having schmooze with -- Eight and his son.
I can tell you they're very different from and I -- I -- and there's a great deal more at stake in Syria than Mary's in Libya yes Libya is an oil producing country.
But it's a small country and it won't.
Huge you'd get small population huge area.
With a lot of boil their very rich they should be fine we don't know yet if there -- the islamists there vying for power.
But Syria.
Syria is Iran's closest Arab ally it's only Arab ally and we need.
You care about that we need to care about that because we need to care about whether or not Iran is going to get a nuclear weapon.
It is so it just moving quickly -- Forward here fox news watch on Saturday afternoons with Jon Scott you will no doubt talk about this on the program this Saturday what does the administration need to do at this point.
Well I think with the administration needs to do is keep trying to focus -- it and the -- debate.
On it's strong suit now the problem for the administration at the moment.
-- the economic figures but seemed to be -- it very much more encouraging than the foreign policy outlook.
What he wants to concentrate on what he's tried to steer the debate towards and now he's taking criticism because.
-- his effort.
To look at his record on nationals.
Here reality is that why thirty leaks coming out and a bathroom are being pointed from all different directions that the White House may have leaked them to make the president look more -- -- -- right.
To borrow a phrase from 2008.
And now you have.
To not one but two years prosecutors not special prosecutors -- to prosecutors.
Working for Eric Holder who may or may not be -- remember depending on whom you believe man but one of the big donations to the Obama administration's so even though you know it can happen who doesn't happen but.
Is now going to be subject to also press coverage renal look at all of this on news watch -- right.
230 Saturday PM newscast you know where you can be and if you're going out party -- fox report at 7 PM.
You come back after that 1130 and got it again at McLeod -- Saturday's.
And -- lineup that you got and you've got in a little better in the last one.
Not aligned just a dinner -- -- -- the -- get this -- I.
