I -- -- -- -- welcome Brent Colbern Obama for America communications director big dated a big speech Anderson that -- mr.

Romney chose to be in the same state.

As the president.

That's right Allen and thanks for having me a religious.

You know in that we we welcome the governor -- to have a speech today as well in Ohio I think it was a great contrast what you saw Cincinnati.

Personal insult the president in Cleveland I mean.

You know you got fifteen minutes from Mitt Romney talking about.

You know what's going wrong and -- trying to tear down the president offered no new ideas and -- we got a very thoughtful speech and the president.

That laid out the choice.

The American people let me -- funny here's part of what Romney had to say he's doing that because he hasn't delivered a recovery for the economy in the idea that -- -- the new -- been -- -- in the middle of -- recovery and Romney continues to misrepresent what's going on here.

That's absolutely right now and Mitt Romney likes to ignore the facts about what -- out on the trail but the reality is that we're headed in the right direction.

We're adding private sector jobs.

We're doing what we can to make sure that.

The public sector has the support that it needs and the real problem here is that Mitt Romney and his allies in congress.

It's -- from -- want to do everything they can to make sure that Barack Obama as a one term president knew absolutely -- -- think that that's not not much comfort to people that are are struggling -- it was.

David minute that was there -- gonna look Mitch McConnell said I'm going to be whenever that was -- number one thing to make sure rather than doing the work for the American people that's what they wanted to do.

Yeah that's right and it is just more of what we've seen consistently over the last few years especially from -- -- over the last year.

There's not scoring political points is that helping people and -- -- -- the president is in this -- by the president has got to continue to talk about the things we need to do now.

To make sure that we're putting America back to work.

Here's more would run recent today's action speaks very loud.

If you want to see the results of his economic policies.

Look around Ohio look around the country you'll see that a lot of people are hurting.

A lot of people had some real tough times -- I was -- season Mitt Romney responded to prison Obama's speech before the president gave the speech.

But I think that's right and I and I think you know I couldn't agree more with Negron his assessment that actions speak a lot of the words.

And unfortunately Mitt Romney that like to talk about his actions I mean you look at -- time in Massachusetts.

That they went backwards and every major and economic and writer you don't like to talk about that and he gave a speech in New Hampshire few months ago quote -- quote kicking off his general election which he never once mentioned that he had been governor of Massachusetts.

What we had -- Michael Dukakis on the show last night who referred to Romney is a fraud and a disaster.

But I won't let them -- -- -- -- his work speaks for itself but I I think that his record on the secure luckily.

What I find very troubling as well I'm -- for an honest debate.

And I think the the country and all of us welcome the opportunity to really debate what's going analyst debate with the president's done or not done here but to say.

For example is Romney has -- the president for example has no jobs plan.

Has -- different winners are Republicans have rejected that drives me crazy because there's just not an honest way to debate the issues.

That's right and it -- -- -- -- for the president today it was a very even handed approach recent book.

We to portal a satellite points for a little while and look at what's on the table in terms of the choice in front of us do do we want the president's plan which is growing economy from the middle out and helping.

Green economy that's really built the last reportedly want the fans solutions that we saw for the decade before the -- presidency.

-- -- the top down approach and we've -- the results -- that we can for the results.

I challenge my audience often McAuliffe and tell me what is it that the -- Republicans have offered specifically number one user specific plan and number two if there is one is -- any given the what we saw.

Prior to this president that had us in a -- in in the disaster the which we had to dig ourselves out.

Did it gets right in Mitt Romney is probably the only person in America that can have a a 59 point -- without one single new idea the sourcing and then I think he's been on the stump.

It's clear what what he would offer in the White House and and I think that that's that -- bad it's for the middle class and that is for the country.

Chris a -- -- in the Washington -- Reports.

He -- he posits that the president's address in Cleveland was really a not so much the audience there but of the independence of people.

Who are sway able to people the president really needs to reach to make a difference in this -- do you concur with that -- I would concur with the fact that that this is a clear choice for the American people in the book I mean.

There are states that are gonna have a large for the play in this election the fact that both candidates were Ohio today that with a clear indicator that's one of them.

-- the -- with the president today was for every American and even -- look he's willing to work with anyone of any political party in any political background.

As long as there it is for everyone and I don't want to work together so I guess we're talking independents were also talking Republicans that that really care about future of this country and obviously talking to Democrats.

We're talking.

We're talking with -- Bernie is the communications director for Obama for America do you concur that it is in fact about the economy that's what this election is about.

Absolutely I -- the president lay that out very clearly today the top of his speech.

Anyone who thinks otherwise that has been paying attention what's been going on in this country for the last three years you know president inherited an economic mass we've been working hard.

Even with the -- to -- put up by Republicans in congress to turn this thing around and it's gonna do -- talking about prepared to November.

And if that is true.

Either so many variables that could happen between now November that.

You know the president really is subject to maybe some things he can't control.

What you know that's that's part of the job part of being president is is dealing with challenges they come up -- think what we've seen over the last three years -- The economy be it -- -- be -- -- any other issue areas is that Barack Obama -- president.

Who brings even handle problem and it went a step up and face whatever crisis.

We have in front of us so sure there's going to be twists and turns in on November.

But I think that we're ready to handle those and and we're gonna keep pushing through and talk about what matters the American people.

Are you surprised by the polls bring -- closer they are right now.

That's not at all I mean anyone who's fall elections like you have over the years knows that.

There's always the consolidation behind behind a nominee once that nominee has via the -- other parties and that's what we're seeing with -- -- here right now.

We've also been saying from day one that this is going to be a tough election the environment -- you know voters are concerned about the future of the country.

Sort out deprives -- -- -- -- -- -- for granite organized gonna keep keep fighting and keep on talking voters.

For the next five months.

I appreciate -- -- an erroneous about it as well Brent thank as the match went on tonight.
