Green and passion and of course oil is fueling the family drama again as the TV show Dallas comes back to prime time and now a new generation.
Of -- are picking up the torch down at south for take a look.
Are you doing.
No more job did Joseph Boyle lost self miceli -- -- right off the record hey you're.
Go Christopher you have no right to drill on this side -- -- -- I've never right and they confirmed the -- this morning bodyguard who's gonna tell you tonight I think you're part of this part of the reserve -- -- seismic surveys find right.
You're sitting on a couple of billion barrels of light sweet crude the most sought after -- in the world.
We're joined this morning about a new cast the new generation on T -- -- Dallas Jesse Metcalf Josh Anderson sort and a Brewster.
And Julie Gonzales a show of hands who was alive when Dallas debuted back in April of 1978.
-- sure not I don't know -- no one was alive.
When this show debuted so how do you go about preparing for show there was so iconic that you missed.
Well I I think the book before -- in the same boat now we're all relatively new characters of the -- there was a lot of history that we had to adhere to.
But we definitely are one back watch as many episodes because before we -- shooting.
And we've all just put a small dent in the 350 some odd episodes but just to get a sense of tone and really where we came from and exactly how dysfunctional this family was if there's one character that may -- to study a little bit it it might be yours and John Ross how much did you go back and study it and how did you even do so I'm looking on YouTube because I was only two when it debuted myself.
How do you prepare for a show that was so iconic thirty years ago -- Our government -- the dvds actually YouTube's as well editing and final JR JR Bobby -- -- in Dallas.
And that you know I I quickly became.
You know up to speed on on YJR.
Or how jealous of magnetic and so I kind of just wanted to basically.
She's you know what who has a son now I had to kind of figure out that specialty needed in China you know.
Translated and it was something.
Julie what is it -- worked thirty years ago that still can work today.
Well I think.
That people can relate to this family I think people like to see a dysfunctional family though you know feuding and then and that about money and president time where you know it's so expensive to -- to the movie theaters and so expensive to go out and you know you just bring the entertainment home and.
And it worked it was it was about a feud back then and and it still is today.
Eighty million people tuned in to see who shot JR do you feel little pressure about that.
Not just a -- it's not a remake it's a continuation you want to be clear that's not a remake.
Finish and we are counting on his eighty million people to tune in every -- diet at 9 PM on TNT.
Not only something you just pressure of course you don't wanna McDonnell at those fans down but at the same time we've got you know Linda gray Patrick Duffy and Larry -- coming back and I think those fans -- -- -- and watch them all right it.
To give people a good sense of kind of what the show's all about obviously it is about oil and greed and romance but if there's one thing your character is after what is.
Both.
Both -- boys and those and analysis is also very ambitious she also wants to make it on Nash's family that she wasn't feeling boys did that this is another way and -- I think that's good that's good part about this second the women are so strong and powerful and they they they are very independent and it wasn't that way in the original and what about yours Jesse I think -- had -- encapsulated -- one word I'd say change.
Who Cheney must change in the future all about alternative energy residents that's right and that's -- you guys are feuding over is basically between energy.
You've got to look romantic feud and yeah got the energy feud year yeah lots -- yet we have a we have a lot view about -- we did talk about JR if you will such an iconic.
Villain.
A long time ago now he's eighty years old diseases will pull that off -- -- -- she walks into a room.
And his energy just it's just consumes everything you know you you did you get -- scene with him and it's it's it's intense and you have to really raise your game because.
It's not -- -- you mean he he is JR.
From when they say actions when he leaves and and so it's pretty it's a pretty special thing to be able to work again.
And lastly -- it was a show that was all about loyalty if there's one thing I remember it was -- that it was on every Friday night it was a routine it was a ritual.
Now it's a different era now because there's a thousand channels out there but how do you breed.
Loyalty and your viewers again.
Well I think that's what's so wonderful about it being continuation of that everyone identifies with the -- -- -- and other so hopefully they'll start identifying with our set of characters and and Phelps wanna.
Come back -- I -- looking forward to the show.
What it Wednesday night 9 o'clock eastern time and he just he just Julie Jordan thanks for being -- read everything you do you.
