Bit of a fiery interview on Sunday morning in the recent intelligence leaks as some Republicans believe came directly from the Obama White House Fox's Chris Wallace.

On FOX News Sunday challenging the president's senior advisor David -- on back it's.

-- everyone is obviously gonna participate in the investigation you've got to again to United States attorneys.

They have been appointed by attorney -- United States who -- -- -- thoroughly into this they're gonna talk to but has anybody they want -- the president ordered his down to console.

Obviously everyone is gonna participate in the investigation what -- -- my next guest -- -- of the bipartisan group demanding to know who leaked this information.

Michigan congressman mark Rogers the Republican chairman of the house Intelligence Committees -- good morning.

Good morning I would go through a couple these items here that that word shoot about on Sunday with a present order whomever.

Was involved in this to come forward David Clough what would not say.

Now what is your position on.

Well one of the things that we've called for all the way through this is a fair.

In thorough investigation -- being it shouldn't be a partisan witch hunt.

And -- -- meaning if they should have access to it everybody.

Wherever the leads may take it including the higher echelons of the white house of that National Security Council.

And so.

It only serves when the -- senior advisor to goes on TV and -- stops to -- a little bit it just raises those concerns can the attorney general appoint two attorneys to do an investigation.

Where the White House may or may not cooperate.

And that's concerning this -- -- one of the most damaging leaks this country has ever suffered.

Because of the cascade or parade of -- all of these leaks over the last couple years and we need to get our I handle on this you get a sense though that that that Republicans and perhaps some Democrats who like.

Well Joseph Lieberman now listed as an independent it's almost as they that they they smell blood in the water.

Do you have that sense.

Yeah well -- -- I've I don't think is an old FBI investigator you should go and have -- any conclusions on where this investigation might take Q.

But clearly there are some indicators that it it it is at the senior levels.

Back so somebody very senior had access to both vote material -- Situation room that's a very small number of people so it tells you that there are more senior.

In the White House -- so I hope it's not for political reasons that people smell blood in the water but if we don't.

Get this thing stopped and we don't.

Show the American people that and our allies by the way that we can keep secrets in this country.

I'm very sensitive issues weren't a lot of trouble well you -- you clearly had a million clearly have a sense of this -- word as your sense tell you this leads.

Well I mean clearly it it's someone has it very senior clearance levels meaning that they are.

In a position in the government to have very sensitive classified information that not a lot of other people in the government won't have.

That they had access to the situation room at least on one occasion if not two occasions so and both of those things are very very concerning to me.

-- and it tells you that the leaks are coming from fairly senior individuals.

And that's I think what is concerning us about it fair and thorough investigation and what -- so -- are generals is gonna have to come make that point to what David.

-- did say is that the president did not authorize any of this his comment was no of course he did not it's.

Now do you think the president's had to sit down with the investigators and answered their questions.

I I only think that would be appropriate if that's where the leads take them my concern is -- does the attorney general structured and away.

That he can have an investigation that might go as high as the president United States.

That that's our concern about.

A fairer and thorough investigation.

You can't have it.

You can't have a safe for political reasons nobody had anything to do -- bit.

Just like you shouldn't say for political reasons we think the president -- and I I think both of those are probably wrong.

But the investigators should have the opportunity if that's where the leads take them.

Are you mentioned attorney general -- appointed to attorneys a look at this one apparently gave donations to the Obama team and Democrats over the years.

The senator Lieberman mention a special counsel is needed here.

I'm assuming you would back senator Lieberman base on our conversation here is that right -- I I feel that were not where we need to be when it comes to a thorough and independent investigative body.

That that has the access that they need that doesn't have any political influence these folks are in the chain of command to the attorney general and the present -- United States.

If you have to investigate of the attorney general's gonna have to come forward and tell us how he can do that without any undue influence -- that investigation.

Pretty that's a very short -- edge as your team made that called Eric Holder.

Who we we have asked them to come in and in and talk to us about how he plans to do what my committee is under -- doing -- preliminary review.

And that is still under way at least on the the Yemeni bomber week issue and so we're trying to determine.

Listen is this the right structure and if it if it this come tell us why that is and if it's not.

There were gonna have to step in and do something about it Mike Rogers thank you will be in touch with you in the rest them by pars and then from there on -- elements.
