Governor thank you very much for joining us welcome back to Wisconsin.
Thanks Kara -- -- big Wisconsin soaring predicting victory here having gotten all -- -- help from the Republican luminaries of Wisconsin today.
I am predicting victory but I know it's a little early to make predictions like that but Wisconsin is very strong.
People here have seen the results of a governor who's held down spending.
And they like the fact that taxes -- lower the same time -- schools are doing very well and employment is doing better here in Wisconsin so.
There is a way to get the private sector working not just the governmental sector.
During your introduction you were invited by your post here at this plant.
To make an announcement about Paul Ryan the local boy from Janesville is -- your potential vice presidential pick -- he stands.
Got nothing story and that Karl.
There -- a number of terrific people and our party who could potentially serve as a vice president.
We're going through that process now about making that decision but I got no I -- -- for -- I understand that so.
As a question about the timing of this.
We've heard from some of your -- that there's -- possibility that you may not wait until the last minute right convention that if you make a decision earlier there might be.
And Romney ticket.
Yourself when you're running it -- -- -- early on to the extent that you're cautious about these types of tactics and strategy discussions.
Is there prohibition on going early.
You know I don't know what the the history is of all the people who have been selected them when they've been nominated or or.
Decided upon by the various candidates but that's something I'll be a deciding on the road no timetable for -- now.
But I'll decide exactly what it is I name mine my BP could be at the convention can be earlier probably not a lot later -- the convention so they expect that.
It's gonna come -- accounts.
You again promised certainty regarding obamacare and your plans to repeal it but -- center.
When it comes to certainty you were asked yesterday about president's executive order on immigration and insofar as you indicated that.
Your plan for a more comprehensive approach would you -- the president's executive orders regarding young people etc.
Why not provide the similar certainty by saying well until such time as I pass a new immigration law to provide that certainly will do away with or not the president's executive orders.
Well we talk about.
Illegal immigration I think I -- start by saying we got to secure the border we've got have an employment verification system.
And then with regard to these children that came here brought -- by their parents who came in here illegally how we deal with them something I think that deserves a long term solution.
And I don't think we go jumping from one solution to the other the president I think made a mistake by putting out there what he called a stop gap measure I think that's not the right way to go.
I'm not going to be looking for stop -- measures I'm going to be looking for a permanent -- long term solution that's something I will start out on day one actually.
As soon as I get elected hopefully.
We'll start working on this issue and hope hopefully be ready to go immediately are so -- border security has to comfort and dealing with some of these other problems -- -- -- That means in the legislative calendar that takes.
Executive order President Obama stands or dust -- You know we'll see kind of what that calendar looks like at that point and I'm and I couldn't tell which items come first second -- third but I can tell you -- -- those people who come here.
By virtue of their parents bringing them here.
Who came in illegally.
That's something I don't -- -- football with as a political matter what the president when he ran for office said he was gonna deal with illegal immigration from the very beginning.
He waits until -- 44 and a half months before the election decides to put something out that he calls a stopgap measure.
It's really -- -- political.
Of course it says partly political.
And the right course here is not to have a a nominee like myself going out and talking about short term answers I wanna put in place a long term solution.
-- -- illegal immigration challenge and to make sure that those people who come here -- understand what their status will be.
What would you do differently from the president's approach or lack thereof.
Well I don't think we should be writing checks to Europe there aren't that tough setting right now they're -- to work through some of the overspending and over borrowing it excesses of their past.
They're doing it in different ways in different countries I would I would have my own advice as to what things I think they could do differently.
I'm sure the president offers this advice but don't open the checkbook and have America bailout Europe.
Germany and and Europe.
Are able to care for their own needs intelligence -- How serious do you think these alleged intelligence national security leaks are and should there be a special prosecutor went.
I do believe they're very serious side to believe a special prosecutor should be looking into the I think we should make every effort to understand how those matters that relate.
For the safety of our men and women.
In uniform around the world and to our foreign policy plans those items should not be -- -- such a way that puts America's interests and our people in jeopardy.
