Hi everyone I'm urologists Maria Molina from the fox extreme weather center with your forecast for the northeast.
And today it will be a scorcher out across the northeast is the first official day of summer and -- sure you'll feel like it here across parts of new England and the rest of the northeast and even across portions of the Great Lakes with temperatures.
Well into the ninety's and even approaching a hundred degrees this afternoon in a city of DC me.
And also cross the Baltimore area Philadelphia you're expecting a high temperature at 9896.
And the city of new York and as you take a look at upstate New York Syracuse expecting a high temperature at 95 degrees some of these temperatures could be breaking some records this afternoon and the other issue is that when you factor in how humidity is out there.
It's gonna feel even hotter so we're expecting -- index values.
Into the triple they've just eaten a hundred and a hundred and -- some of these areas along the money five -- which will be dangerous of course and we do have a number of heat advisories.
And excessive heat warnings in place for parts of Boston all the way into DC because of just how hot it's gonna steal out there.
Otherwise as far as -- -- not much in the way of that you just gonna get a lot of blazing sunshine and placed high pressure is in control and that's pretty much the reason why we're looking at these hot temperatures.
And there's also an approaching cold front that says a lot locked into the midwest but had that you get those winds at a south and that's -- pools and that warmer air on northward and again why we're looking -- possibly some record setting high temperatures.
This afternoon by Thursday morning that quote from a continuous tracking sport it will be actually already firing up some showers.
And even some isolated rumbles of thunder here and there by 9 AM Thursday morning across western parts of Pennsylvania even central Pennsylvania can see a sprinkle.
Here in their parts of the midwest otherwise the -- -- you generally a dry day for you on Thursday with those hot temperatures continuing police.
As well as all of that humidity but then as we head into Friday we're gonna continue to see that front headed -- and we could be seeing some showers and storms.
From New England on the way down into New York City and DC -- need the umbrella.
As we head into early Friday morning and as you head out the door to work.
Behind this system a little bit drier and a little bit cooler it's still going to be a relatively warm weekend though.
